i’m currently trying to write more in german, and let’s just say that i’m bad at coming up with a topic to write about. anyways, i found a list of like 100 “philosophical” questions and i’m translating ones that i like or find interesting to german and then i’m answering them in a couple of sentences. i guess you could go on r/askreddit and answer posts on there in a word document or find questions from celebrity interviews or whatever other ideas that might come to mind. i just wanted to share this little tip i had.

started writing a short story in german today, so that’s progress i think. i’m so rusty though, because i’ve barely been involved with it these past months. but it’s coming back to me quickly i think, i just need to refresh my memory a bit, that’s all.

i haven’t studied in so long, but i picked up my german book again. i think i burned out a bit honestly and i don’t know if i will take a longer break from italian lmao. i think i didn’t lose much german, i’m at an intermediate level and i do follow quite some germans on the few social media’s i’m on, so i have been interacting with it on the daily, although less than normally.
anyways, i think i will take it really slow with the italian. i don’t want to quit it, but i don’t think i will study it as hard as i did before i gave up language learning completely lol.
what i really have to do is read a book i have for homework, but of course i just have to start my language learning hobby again.

i’ve been so unmotivated lately and learning languages is straight up just a hobby for me. i’m not going to torture myself if i don’t feel like it, so yeah i’m not exactly learning much new, but i do read a bit and listen a bit, so that i won’t lose all progress. i’m probably back on track in a week or so, but right now i’m just tired lol.

so i’m really laddering my italian on top of my german now. think this might be the best way for me to learn new vocabulary in italian, as well as remembering the right articles in german. i’ll have to take it slow haha, but i’m thinking i could fill my book with new words every couple days or so. i just have to keep it up. helps having a really cute notebook to write it in lol.

been watching a few movies in italian, started a “documentary” show about the cuisine and listening to music and trying to translate it. feels counterproductive to start learning the language from culture, but maybe it will work out. i find it very interesting, how i can live so close to other countries, yet have such a different culture. even within italy, the cultures are so different to each other. it’s lovely and fun, just like studying should be.

the more time i have spent learning italian through busuu, the less time i’ve spent actively learning german. instead, i’ve been watching shows and reading in german. it feels very nice and comfortable. i don’t understand every word but i feel like i understand the meaning almost every time.
my intensive studying of italian is killing me slowly though, so i’ve really been taking some time to watch an italian movie and a travel/cooking tv show. i hope that i can read easier books by the summer.

one thing i will promise myself when studying italian, is that i will start to learn about the culture immediately. i’m currently watching an italian culture/food show and i started watching a sorrentino film yesterday. i have been horrible at studying the german culture, i guess it’s been like that since i was in school and we barely had time to study the grammar. i haven’t realised how important the culture is for languages until now. time for improvement.

so after saving my money by writing my flashcards by hand, i decided to invest them in the busuu 75% discount and although i haven’t had a lot of time to explore my new premium membership, i can already tell it’s been worth it. i did a quick rundown on the topics i’ve practiced in the past and i’m very happy. will explore it further tomorrow.

Don't ever underestimate yourself. No dream is too big, because I think dreaming gets us where we want to go. Be curious, explore, open yourself up to new ideas always. It will be OK. Don't worry about making bad decisions. Oftentimes, you learn the most in those situations of failure and move in and put your point of view out there and express how you would deal with the situation or business decision you would make. Just to keep believing in yourself, you can do it. If you believe in yourself and have confidence, then others will have confidence in you too. Just keep going. Just keep working hard. And then you get to the other side, of course you have what it takes to get to the other side. Be fearless, journal your thoughts, cut out people who make you feel behind, buy yourself books, explore new things, everyday is a new day, embrace discomfort, set boundaries unapologetically, celebrate small wins, trust your intuition, stay consistent, invest in your growth, rest without guilt, challenge your fears, be kinder to yourself, step outside your comfort zone, believe in your potential, disconnect to reconnect, prioritize inner peace, speak up for yourself, stay curious, nourish your body, learn from failures, visualize your success, let go of perfectionism, protect your energy, keep moving forward and u will see the change
