They point not to their weaknesses, but to the things that prevent them from opening up.
Tumblr media
Ashlyn, as a leader, should listen to the rest of the group, but despite this, throughout the story, she remains skeptical of all new information, as if unwilling to hear it. All her life, she has turned a blind eye (in our case, a deaf ear) to phantom sounds. Her main barrier is her inability to hear information.
Tumblr media
Aiden understands a lot, but despite this, he cannot open up to people and say what is on his mind. He remained silent about his dreams with his phantom copy, not considering it important information. His main barrier is his unwillingness to open up and talk to people about himself.
Tumblr media
Ben brought almost no information to the events at the research center. After the injury, he can speak, but he doesn't want to, and prefers to remain silent. His main weakness is silence.
Tumblr media
Logan clings to his glasses - his indecisiveness prevents him from seeing the reality of the situation. He knew he was being bullied and used, but he wasn't ready to face the mockery and respond to it. It's easier for him to hide and pretend he doesn't see the problem. His main obstacle is closing his eyes.
Tumblr media
All that concerns Tyler first and foremost is his sister. Because of this, he is constrained in his actions and decisions. He doesn't care how it will affect him; the main thing is what will happen to Taylor. His main obstacle is that he cares too much about his sister.
Tumblr media
Taylor is under the care and protection of her brother, while being very worried about him. She hasn't made any important decisions until Tyler got injured and she had the opportunity to do so. Her main problem is her brother's overprotectiveness.

Phantoms - a sign of human cruelty? (or simply connected to it)
Tumblr media
My theory is that phantoms are embodiments of the violence, horror, and cruelty that people commit.
Let's recall the chapter where Logan stands up to his bully (chapters 42-43). Everything's fine, but RIGHT AFTER Logan hit him, the lamp starts flickering.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the whole company gets involved in the fight, the following happens:
Ashlyn hits a person, after which she immediately starts hearing very loud phantom sounds.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After that, while everyone is fighting, there’s an animation in one segment. In one frame, the window and lamp are normal, but in the next, it already shows a video of phantoms.
Tumblr media
After all the fighting, Ashlyn says this:
Tumblr media
Manifestation of cruelty, the company opened a passage to a phantom dimension, emitting sounds of phantoms.
Also, let’s remember the biggest phantom - the centipede.
Tumblr media
And where did we see her? By the school. A hotspot for childhood cruelty.
Given all of this, I believe that phantom dimension is continuously linked to violence. And perhaps the phantoms are a sign of this violence (or, as suggested in the last chapters, its source).

Taylor is the scariest of the whole company.
I don't think it will be a surprise to anyone that the trope of 'the sweetest is the most terrifying in anger' exists. And I have a feeling that this is exactly what Red is planning to pull off with Taylor.
From the beginning of the story, Taylor was an appendage to Tyler. And as it progressed, we were increasingly given scenes where Taylor took bold actions independent of her brother's influence. In its time, I was surprised by the art on the announcement of the second season. Have you ever seen Taylor fight like that? I would have thought anyone could do that, but not her.
But over time, I realized that Taylor has the potential to be a great hero, which Red is likely hiding for a plot twist. And season 3 is the perfect time to hand him over to Taylor. In the last episode, she and Logan were caught by the police. They will be together, Tyler isn't even around. What does this mean? Taylor will have to make decisions on her own, and this will likely be her coming of age. And there is a chance that this character's growth will lead to his death :) Yes, I believe that Taylor will suffer serious injuries next.
Let's start with the fact that out of the whole group, only Taylor we haven't seen as a phantom. She has never suffered serious injuries, and there haven't been any serious situations where her life was more at risk than others.
Besides this, in this art, despite the fact that Taylor made the bracelets, it is only not visible on her.
Tumblr media
And here I have two options that await us: Either Taylor will die next, or (which is more interesting) for some reason she will betray the company.
