Bob Floyd X Reader: Drunk words, sober truths.
Summary: After one too many drinks, you drunkenly confess your feelings to Bob. The next morning smut ensues. That it guys, thats the plot.

Word count: 3.7K
You weren’t drunk.
Okay, maybe a little bit.
Maybe one glass too many. But hey, that’s okay, because your brain still seemed to be functioning just fine. Unfortunately, the only thought currently echoing inside your head was: dick, dick, dick.
So yeah. Maybe one too many.
In your defense, Bob looked really fucking good tonight. The fucking jeans were teasing you, messing with your brain and begging you to let the crush you’d been harboring for the man for ages slip from your not-so-sober lips.
It hadn’t yet. But the night was still quite young. And you were feeling very comfortable in your skin.
You sat on a stool, sipping on the fifth… wait, no, sixth. Was it the sixth? Whatever. You sipped a beer, watching the crew play pool. You were normally very good, but you were sitting this game out. You weren’t sure you’d be able to keep your balance well enough to score a shot. And you weren’t the type that played not to win.
Your eyes slipped from the pool table to a far more interesting sight.
Bob Floyd’s ass.
It wasn’t your fault that he’d literally placed himself in your line of sight. You barely had to move your head. His ass was just on display for you. You knew it wasn’t intentional—of course you knew that. He was lining up a shot that just happened to be right in front of you.
But you weren’t one to waste the universe’s gifts.
So you let your eyes latch onto Bob Floyd’s perfectly round ass. It was probably obvious to anyone who looked at you that you were staring. Luckily, no one was paying attention to you at the moment.
Well, almost no one.
You heard a soft snicker beside you, head turning slightly toward the sound. Phoenix watched you, a small smirk on her face. She knew all about your major crush on Bob. She had the unfortunate role of being the friend who had to listen as you gushed over the pilot every chance you got. But Phoenix was a good friend, and she knew to stay out of other people’s business.
That did not mean she wouldn’t tease you when the opportunity presented itself.
“You alright there?”
The rest of the crew’s heads turned toward you. Everyone’s gaze had shifted—including Bob’s.
You felt the blush that suddenly coated your cheeks. You could feel Bob’s eyes on you, but yours stayed glued to Phoenix. She just gave you a sly smile, knowing damn well what she’d just done. You were going to make her pay for that one day.
“I’m fine.”
It came out a bit slurred. A bit too high-pitched.
Someone laughed.
You didn’t pay them any mind, gaze still glued to Phoenix as you gave her a small grimace of a look.
And then you felt something warm on your shoulder.
Your head turned to look at what it was. Your eyes trailed up the hand currently resting on your shoulder, searching for its owner.
Your breath nearly gave out when you were greeted by the sight of Bob. His face was full of barely restrained concern, glasses slightly slipping off his nose as he stared at you with kind eyes.
“Hey.”
The word slipped from your lips before you could stop it.
Bob gave you a soft smile, the hand that wasn’t holding onto you moving to push his glasses up. It was such a simple act, but it still made your heart flutter.
“Hi.”
Time seemed to slow down. The sound of his voice was like velvet. You wanted to be buried inside it.
Wanted him to be buried inside you.
Whoa. Okay. Drunk thought.
But a very persistent one. Even in your sober moments.
Luckily, you still had enough control over your brain to not let the thought slip out of your mouth. You just stared at Bob for a moment. Someone had said something, but you weren’t listening. You only noticed because Bob’s head had snapped toward the speaker.
You had a perfect view of his side profile. A glorious sight of his perfect nose.
What would it be like to sit on it?
God, you really needed to get some water in your body. The thoughts were becoming more and more unfiltered with every second. Soon, you’d let something slip. And then you’d die of embarrassment.
You bit your lip, forcing your mouth to stay shut.
“What do you think?”
Bob was talking to you again. You stared at him, confused. What did you think of what?
“Don’t think she was listening, Bob.”
That came from Hangman. Your eyes flitted over to him, catching on the teasing smile he wore. You had the urge to flip him off, but you stayed still.
“Hey.”
Your eyes moved back to Bob’s face as he gave your shoulder a gentle squeeze.
“Do you want me to take you home?”
Maybe that would be best. You were clearly hanging on by a thread. And maybe if you did slip—which you were pretty sure would happen eventually—you’d at least be alone.
Alone with Bob.
You practically shivered at the thought.
Because you couldn’t trust your mouth to open and say anything other than ‘I love you’ , you opted to nod your head.
Bob smiled at you.
“Okay then. Here, hold onto me.”
“Not that drunk.”
But you still held onto him. Because he’d offered. And because it meant he would be closer to you. Bob had said goodbye to everyone. You’d followed with a drunken wave.
And then the two of you were off.
The whole drive home, you stared out the window. If you looked at Bob, you’d start thinking dirty things. And that would make you want to do said dirty things.
But you didn’t want to scare Bob.
So you kept your eyes on the road.
You struggled to get your shoes off at the door. And Bob, being the gentle soul that he was, sank down to his knees to help you out.
You shook your head, trying to keep the dirty thoughts at bay.
It seemed to work pretty well.
Until it didn’t.
Bob had waited outside the bathroom as you changed. When you’d slipped back into the room, dressed in an oversized shirt, Bob came to help you to bed.
He handed you a pill and a glass of water. You took it without question. If you were lucky, you wouldn’t have a hangover tomorrow. But the odds were definitely not in your favor.
You chugged the water down before handing Bob the empty glass. He placed it on the nightstand before moving to tug the sheets over your body.
“Sleep tight.”
Bob moved to leave the room, but you grabbed his hand before he could take even a step away from the bed.
“You okay?”
His face was full of concern. You smiled up at him.
“You’re really sweet, Bob.”
“It’s not a big deal… really.”
You let out a soft hum, not letting go of his hand.
“Can I tell you a secret?”
Bob smiled at the question.
“Sure.”
You gestured for him to come closer. He did as you asked, leaning down so your lips were right at his ear. He could feel your breath on his cheek.
“I think you’re really handsome.”
Bob's heart skipped a beat at the confession.
And then you kept going—
“I think about riding you all the time.”
Bob nearly had a heart attack.
You let go of his hand, settling into the sheets and closing your eyes.
Bob leaned back into an upright position, still staring at you with wide eyes.
But you were already fast asleep.
The sun slipped into the room through the curtains. You opened your eyes with a soft groan. Your eyes took a while to adjust to where you were. You rubbed at them, trying to ignore the soft pounding in your head.
Hangover.
Fantastic.
Honestly, it could have been worse. You were sure the headache would leave after some coffee. So you peeled yourself off the bed, feet padding against the floor as you made your way to the kitchen.
Small flashes of last night moved through your brain as you waited for the coffee to brew.
You bit your nails, trying to remember.
You remembered the bar. The drinks. Phoenix’s smug smile. Bob’s hand on your shoulder. His voice. That’s when a hazy memory flickered behind your eyes. A whisper. Something you said.
Something about Bob.
God, had you said something? You weren’t totally sure—but there was that gnawing, sinking feeling in your gut.
You were startled by a knock on the door. Instinctively, you glanced at the clock. 10 o’clock. Not bad, considering how late you’d gotten in last night.
But who would be at your door at such a time on a Sunday? You moved to grab your phone to check for messages. And that’s when it hit you.
Your phone.
You’d forgotten it at the bar.
You opened the door, and there he was. Bob Floyd, looking far too good for someone this early in the morning. He had your phone in one hand and a paper bag in the other.
“Hey,” he said, a little cautiously. “You, uh… forgot this.”
You reached for the phone, your fingers brushing his just slightly. He didn’t pull away. Neither did you.
“Thanks. I—yeah. Sorry.” You gave a sheepish smile. “Honestly, I didn’t even realize.”
Bob nodded once, then hesitated.
The kind of hesitation that meant he was thinking about something. The small feeling of dread crept back. Okay, so you’d definitely said something. Because sure, Bob was a shy guy, but this wasn’t his usual shyness. This was something else.
There was tension.
Even if you didn’t remember exactly what you’d said, Bob clearly did. Before you could think too much about it, you moved to the side of the door, allowing Bob to see into your house.
“You want coffee?” you asked. “I just made a pot. And you look like someone who’s already been up too long.”
Bob hesitated for a moment, fingers clenching and unclenching. Your heart raced. What the fuck had you said? But then he looked at you and gave you a soft smile.
“Sure. Yeah. Coffee sounds good.”
You let out a soft breath as he walked into the room.
Your hands shook slightly as you closed the door. Bob Floyd was inside your house. Bob Floyd knew something you couldn’t remember. You weren’t sure if you wanted to find out or not.
Bob settled at the kitchen table as you grabbed two mugs and filled them with coffee. His eyes flicked toward you every so often, like he wanted to say something. You pretended not to notice, but your heart raced as you handed him his mug.
“One cream, two sugars.”
Bob’s eyes lit up slightly at your words. You’d remembered how he liked his coffee. He had only told you once, and you still remembered. It made something warm flicker in his chest.
“Thank you.”
You gave him a small smile. “Yeah, well… thanks for, you know, coming back with my phone.”
He nodded, fingers curling around the warm cup.
“Yeah. Figured you’d want it back sooner rather than later.”
You laughed softly, the sound a little too breathy.
“Yeah, definitely.”
There was a pause.
Bob cleared his throat. “About last night…”
Your heart skipped, but you didn’t look up. “Yeah?”
He hesitated, then shrugged. “I mean, you said some things.”
Your cheeks heated. “Did I?”
“Yeah. But it’s okay. I’m not mad or anything.”
You glanced at him, meeting his gaze for a brief second. “Honestly, I don’t even remember most of it.”
“Me neither,” he said with a small smile.
It was a complete lie, of course. He remembered your exact words. He remembered how you smelled, how warm your breath had been on his neck. He remembered going home and, much to his shame, lying in bed and taking care of his little problem while your voice echoed in his head.
“But I figured, if you’re sober now, maybe we could talk about it?”
You swallowed hard. “I’d like that.”
His smile grew warmer. “Good. Because I don’t want things to be weird between us.”
“No, me neither.”
The tension wasn’t gone, but it had dulled a bit. You were sure you’d be embarrassed by whatever had slipped through your lips. But you also knew Bob wouldn’t hold it against you.
You were adults. You could act like it.
You were not, however, prepared for what Bob was about to tell you. He had struggled for a moment, trying to be as gentle as possible. It was clear from his face that he was flustered. As soon as he told you what you’d said, you were sure you’d just died. Or at least you wished you were dead, because you could not handle this conversation. You were not adult enough for this.
You placed your mug on the table with more force than necessary, hands moving to cover your face as you whispered “fuck” repeatedly.
Bob felt bad. He had expected it to be weird—awkward, maybe. But he hadn’t expected you to almost start sobbing into your hands. He could tell you were having a hard time breathing, so before he could think better of it, he got up. He placed his hands on your shoulders.
“Hey. Look at me.”
You shook your head emphatically, hands still hiding you from his warm gaze. You’d have to quit. That was the only solution. You could not handle looking at Bob every day knowing you’d told him one of your dirtiest thoughts in a drunken daze.
Bob’s hands moved to grab yours. You tried to keep them where they were, but Bob was stronger than you. He pried your hands away from your face, holding your wrists gently together. You bowed your head, staring at the floor.
“Can you please look at me?”
Fuck him. Fuck him and his soft hands and velvet voice.
You lifted your head slowly, expecting to be met with pity or disgust, but that’s not what you found. When you finally looked at Bob’s face, he looked just as out of breath as you felt. He was so close that your noses were practically touching. And his eyes—his big, beautiful eyes—were almost black with desire.
You nearly choked on your own spit.
“Did you mean it?” he asked.
You breathed heavily, trying to think of what to say.
“Well, you know the phrase… drunk words, sober thoughts,” you said with a slightly pathetic laugh.
And then Bob’s hands shifted. He let go of your wrists, cupping your face with a speed that made your heart stutter. You barely managed to gasp out his name before his lips were on yours.
The kiss was all-consuming.
Bob’s body moved against yours as he deepened it, his mouth warm and sure. You groaned as your back hit the kitchen counter. Bob tried to pull back to apologize, but you didn’t let him. You tugged his head back to yours, tongue sliding over his lips. He opened his mouth to you, letting you explore. His hands moved to rest on your hips, his body pressing you firmly against the counter.
His grip on your hips tightened, fingers digging into the soft fabric of your sleep shirt like he was trying to ground himself. You could feel the tension in his arms, the restraint in the way he kissed you—like he wasn’t sure how far you wanted to go. Like he was holding back.
“Bob,” you breathed against his lips, your voice rough, “don’t hold back.”
That was all it took.
He groaned, deep and low in his chest, before lifting you effortlessly onto the counter. Your legs wrapped around his waist on instinct, pulling him flush against you. You could feel him—hard and heavy through his jeans—and the contact made you whimper.
“You have no idea,” he muttered against your jaw, lips trailing down the side of your neck, “how long I’ve wanted this.”
“Then show me,” you whispered, fingers already tugging at the hem of his shirt. “Please.”
Bob didn’t need to be asked twice. He tugged the shirt over his head, tossing it somewhere behind him, and leaned back in to kiss you again—deeper this time, hungrier. His hands roamed, slipping under your shirt and dragging up slowly until your chest was bare to him.
“Fuck,” he whispered, reverent and breathless as he took you in.
He bent down, mouthing at the swell of your breast, tongue flicking over your nipple. You gasped, arching into him, needing more. You clawed your shirt completely off, whining as Bob continued to suck your breast. Your shirt fell somewhere near his but it didn’t matter. All that mattered was Bob.
Bob and his perfect fucking mouth.
Your hands fumbled with his belt, desperate to get him out of his jeans. “Bob, I need—”
“I know,” he said, voice wrecked as he reached down to help you. “God, I know.”
You finally got his belt undone, yanking at his jeans until he helped you shove them down just enough to free him. Your eyes dipped down, and your breath caught. God, of course he was big. And thick. And flushed an angry shade of red, already leaking from the tip.
Bob groaned as your hand wrapped around him. It was the prettiest sound you’d ever heard. You just smiled and leaned forward to press your mouth to his neck, dragging your tongue over the pulse there. But then his hands were on your thighs, thumbs dragging over your waistband, eyes dark with heat.
“Wait,” he said, voice low and hoarse. “Let me taste you first.”
The way he said it—like it was a need, not a want—almost made you give in.
Almost.
Your fingers curled into his hair as you looked him dead in the eyes.
“Next time,” you whispered. “I need you inside me right now.”
Bob groaned, like the words physically hurt him, but he nodded.
“Okay. Yeah. Just—fuck, come here.”
He should probably have taken your underwear off entirely. But you were both so impatient and the little bit of fabric wouldn’t affect his skills. So he tugged your underwear to the side with one hand and guided himself to your entrance with the other.
You were more than ready for him, slick and warm and aching. And when he finally pushed in—slowly, carefully—you both let out a sound that could only be described as relief.
“Holy shit,” you gasped, nails digging into his shoulders.
“You feel—fuck—” Bob gritted out, forehead pressed to yours. “So good. You feel so fucking good.”
He gave you a second to adjust, but you were already rolling your hips, desperate for more. That’s all he needed. He set a rhythm, hard and deep, his hands gripping your hips like he couldn’t bear the thought of letting you go.
Every thrust sent you back into the counter with a delicious thud. Your legs locked around his waist, pulling him impossibly closer. His name fell from your lips again and again, each time more breathless than the last.
“Hey,” he panted, causing you to look up at him, brows slightly furrowed with pleasure.
“Yeah?”
“Can I tell you a secret?” he rasped, one hand sliding up your back to cradle your head.
He hit your G-spot, making you moan his name before nodding. Bob leaned his forehead against yours, closing his eyes.
“I touched myself to the thought of you last night. Couldn’t stop thinking about you on top of me.”
“Oh, fuck—Bob!”
It was so odd how sweet you found his confession. The entire thing was said in such a dirty manner, made even nastier by the sound of his dick spearing into you with every thrust. But you understood why he’d said it. It was his way of telling you he wanted you too.
Your eyes glossed over, head tilting back as you moaned. Bob latched onto your neck, sucking hickeys into the skin. He shifted his hips slightly, allowing him to hit a deeper angle—and you were fucking gone.
You came. Right there on the kitchen counter, gasping his name, clutching him like a lifeline as the orgasm ripped through you. Bob followed moments later, burying himself deep with a low, drawn-out groan.
For a long moment, neither of you moved. Just heavy breaths and the rapid beat of two hearts trying to slow down. Bob’s fingers traced lazy circles along your back, grounding you both in the afterglow. He leaned down, lips brushing softly against your temple.
“You’re incredible,” he murmured, voice husky with emotion and something deeper—admiration, maybe even awe.
You smiled weakly, breath still shaky. “You’re not so bad yourself.”
His hand slipped from your back to cup your cheek, thumb tracing over your flushed skin. “I want to take my time with you. Not just tonight.”
You met his gaze, heart pounding all over again. “Me too.”
Slowly, carefully, he helped you off the counter and into his arms, like you were the most precious thing in the world. You let him wind his arms around you, your bodies pressed in a tender hug. The sun shone brightly outside, but you paid no attention to it. You nestled into Bob's body, hearing his heart slow down as you two enjoyed each other's embrace.
“I’m never drinking again.”
Bob chuckled at your words, the vibration rippling through your body.
“I’m glad you did.”
You lifted your head off his chest, gazing into his eyes.
“Glad I got shitfaced and told you I thought about fucking you?”
Bob smiled again, his hand moving to push some hair off your face.
“I’m glad you feel the same way I do about you.”
It was your turn to smile now. You placed a soft kiss on his lips.
“Of course I do, Bob. You’re easy to fall for.”
“And to ride, apparently.”
You gave him a soft slap, but you couldn’t help but smile.
“I don’t know. I never got actual experience. I just fantasize about it,” you teased.
“You wanna find out?”
You gave him your cheekiest smile.
“You bet I do.”
His hands found your waist again, pulling you close as a slow, knowing smile played across his lips. The promise in his eyes was impossible to miss, and you matched it with one of your own, full of mischief and anticipation.
The kitchen, the morning light, even the lingering scent of coffee—all faded away, leaving only the delicious tension between you two, teasing and ready to explode. Whatever came next, it was clear neither of you planned on letting this be the last time.

Hey there! 👋
Can I request a Bob Floyd xreader where the reader loves food, and when they first meet each other (like he walks into a restaurant and see her), she's stuffing her face (not too crazy though) with food cuz she's hungry and she looks up at him with a deer-in-headlights look and he thinks it's adorable but she finds it embarrassing. It's something I would do, and I think it'd be hilarious to read 🙃
Do you even have to ask? I'd write this happily even if you demanded it rudely! Love it!
It's been a long, long day. Work had you up at 5am, and you slept in, so breakfast wasn't an option. You missed lunch because your boss called you into a meeting. Now, it was finally dinner and your friends had made plans with you.
Unfortunately, they weren't there when you arrived. They texted you saying traffic was so bad that they wouldn't make it until an hour later. So, you're stuck with reservations for three with just you there.
You decide not to let your reservation at this fancy restaurant go to waste. You order something off the menu that you cannot pronounce correctly, and decide to just stick with it. The worst thing that could happen is it taste terrible, but you'll eat it anyway.
The universe smiles on you because the food is divine. It's as good as the price, and you're so hungry you basically stuff your face with it. Of course, you keep your manners and wipe your lips after every bite. You're so engrossed in finally eating you don't notice the man at another table staring at you until his friends begin laughing.
You freeze at the realization that they've probably been watching you eat and have been using you for entertainment. You slow your bites and try to recover your dignity. That stops when the man staring at you approaches your table. You're stuck mid-bite when he reaches your table, and all you can do is stare up at him with wide eyes.
"I, uh, I just wanted to say you have really pretty eyes," He says nervously. His glasses fall from his face an inch, and he pushes them back up. You realize he's wearing some sort of uniform, but you aren't sure for which branch. His brown hair is neatly pulled back and cut short. You know there's a base near here, but you barely see anyone in uniform. "That's all. Thank you!" He coughs out.
He's about to scramble back to his table when you swallow your bite and stop him. "Wait, is that why you were staring at me?" You ask firmly. He spins back around with a mortified look.
"You noticed?" He sounds surprised. As if he were somehow being the sneakiest man in the world, and assumed you didn't even notice him. "No, that wasn't- I mean, yes, I was staring because you're beautiful. It was also because my friends kept telling me to approach you," He admits.
You glance past him to see his friends with wide smiles. One of them gives you a thumbs up, and it's almost laughable. This is such a romcom type of thing to happen, and yet it's happening to you. You return your focus to him.
"So, you were just going to say I look beautiful and leave?" You rest your head on your hand. Did he even think this encounter through? What did he even want to gain from it other than saying he told you? "I mean, it's nice, but usually guys ask for a number or social." You point out.
"Yeah, I was going to ask. You just looked busy with your food, and I really didn't want to be the guy who randomly asks women for their numbers." He mumbles. You feel bad for him because he clearly wants to talk to you, but he has no idea how. He probably faces dangers regularly, but this is anxiety-inducing for him.
"Ok, so why don't you join me?" You suggest while gesturing to one of the empty chairs at your table. "You seem sweet, and it would be nice not to eat alone." He nods at your proposal and pulls out the chair across from you.
You spend the rest of the night talking and learning about each other. He's a lieutenant in the Navy and a back seater. It's much more interesting than your job, so that takes away the need to bring up your terrible day. With every new topic, his eyes light up and his lips grow into a wider smile. The more time he's with you, the better he feels about approaching your table. He doesn't want the night to end and he'll make sure to thank his friends for forcing him over here.
By the end of the conversation, he offers to pay for your meal and even asks if you want dessert. You're surprised at how much of a gentleman he is, but you don't let him pay.
"So, Bob, is this more than you expected to get from saying I was pretty?" You ask as you both exit the restaurant. The mood has shifted to a more playful atmosphere. It's much better than the awkward tense one you had when first meeting.
"I said your eyes were pretty," He corrects with an amused tone. "But after spending time with you, I'd say you were more than just gorgeous." His words make your heart race. You haven't had a man act this way towards you in a long time, and suddenly he appears while you're eating food like an animal. It's humiliating and satisfying at the same time.
"Well, you'll just have to call me for more time then." You wink. It doesn't dawn on you that he doesn't have your number. It doesn't hit him either.
You only realize when you get home and check your phone. The amount of screams you unleash into your pillow is too many. There's no way you'd run into him again. You don't even know how long he'll be in the area. Your luck ran out and you're paying for it.
--
It hasn't even been two days, and you've found him. Somehow, somewhere in the cosmos, a star is fond of you. You're staring at him from across the coffee shop. He's already gotten his order, and he's about to leave. You can either let him go and get your breakfast, or risk not eating this morning to stop him.
You'll just have to starve because you don't even get to consider the choice before you're grabbing his arm. He's a lot firmer than you thought, and it catches you off guard.
His head snaps to you, and his surprise changes to relief instantly. "I don't have your number!" He blurts out. The first thing he thought about when seeing you was the reason he never reached out.
"I know!" You laugh. "I forgot to give it to you. I didn't think I'd see you again, so when I did, I didn't want to lose you," You explain. You let go of his arm and hide both behind your back. Now, it's your turn to be timid.
"I-I carried around mine on a card in case I saw you," He confesses. He pulls out his wallet and shows you a ripped-out notebook paper with his number on it. Next to it was your name with a tiny heart next to it.

So I dont know if this is your style but I figured I lose nothing by asking!
I have been really wanting to see a Bob Floyd x reader, baby announcement using B.O.B (since hangman calls him Baby on Board) like reader wear a shirt with BOB right on the stomach as a hint to either the dagger squad or Bob himself and it takes way to long for people to get it 🤣 just a thought!
Your fic's have been a saving grace for my Lewis Pullman hyper fixation!
I love this idea! It's so cute and I KNOW the dagger squad would be so excited.
You cannot believe you let Jake and Nat convince you of this. Is the idea cute? Yes. Will this put a smile on Bob's face? Also, yes. So, in theory, this is a good idea. It's witty and adorable, which Bob loves.
Except you've been standing next to him the entire night, and he hasn't mentioned it. It's gotten to a point where Nat pointed at your shirt a complimented it in hopes Bob realizes. He, instead, complimented it as well.
It's comedic and torturous. You want so badly for him to figure it out on his own, but you aren't sure he will. It's not because he's stupid; he's far from that. He's just a little oblivious to the hint you're dropping. In other words, he's not picking up what you're putting down.
You haven't had a lick of alcohol either, of course, for the baby's sake. However, that can't even be seen as a hint, either, because you don't get drunk on the regular. So, you're stuck hoping something will click in his brain.
"Hey, you're looking a little different," Jake says. Your eyes snap to him with a glare that could kill him where he stands. Jake's eyes are darting between you and Bob with an expression that can only say 'come on, man'. You quickly realize he's trying to aid the process. "Have you been doing anything new?" He says with a smirk.
"A lot more cardio," You say through gritted teeth. Bob's attention has already been grabbed by the conversation. His eyes were bouncing back and forth. "I thought this shirt really showed that off." You cannot be anymore clearer.
"You do look amazing," Bob agrees with a sparkle in his eyes. "You've been glowing recently," He adds with a smile.
"Yeah, I just find it weird she's wearing a shirt with your call sign on it," Natasha finally joins in. She plants the butt of her pool stick on the ground as her investment in the topic grows. "Y'know, it reminds me of those stickers people put on their cars. What's it stand for again?" She taps her chin.
"Oh, baby on board," Bob answers with a nod. You want to slam your head into a wall. He is right on the money, and yet, he is somehow using it as printer paper. "I always thought those were cute," He chuckles. Natasha and Jake are left staring at him with amusement.
Bob turns towards you and glances at your shirt for the thirty-first time tonight. His smile drops after a few seconds, and his eyes widen. They flicker to lock with yours, and there's a question on his tongue he can't quite get out.
"Is that what it means?" He asks loudly. He already knows the answer, but he just needs to hear you say it.
"Yeah, it is." You can't stop the grin from growing on your face as his eyes light up. The moment he knows the answer, he's lifting you off the ground. His arms are tight around your torso, and you can hear his laughter.
"I'm going to be a father!" He cheers while placing you back down. Bob's enthusiasm gathers the attention of the rest of the dagger squad. Everyone besides Jake and Natasha is surprised. They all let out a few congratulations while clinking their drinks together.
"Fucking finally. I was starting to think I'd have to just straight up tell him," Jake jokes with a slight nudge to your arm.
"I would have snapped his arm for ruining the surprise," Natasha steps up next to him. Before she can say anything else, Bob is pulling you away. He's already heading out of the bar with a mission in mind.
"Honey, where are we going?" You ask in a sing-song voice.
"I just found out my wife is pregnant. I'm spending the rest of my life pampering you," He says while pulling out the car keys. He says that as if he doesn't already do that. However, you won't say anything to argue against him. You know it's pointless.

bob floyd gets a concussion and is flustered and embarrassed when wife!reader tells him they’re married, and he doesn’t believe her because she’s so pretty
muaahahahaha😈😈😈 I absolutely loveee this !!!
warnings/tags: v minimal hospital stuff, anxious reader, (y/n) used like twice, fluff, bob is sooo in love lololl, very quick nsfw mention, also bob is southern because I SAID SO, reader is lowkey southern too cause i am and i’m projecting🥀
wc: 1.2k
a/n: sighhh i love bob so much, this was so fun to write :] thank you for the req !! plsss keep them comin !
It wasn't very often you were invited on base. You aren't not allowed there, you just never really had much of a reason to spend the day over there. So that's why you're a little fidgety as you make your way through the parking lot of the small hospital on base. That, and you had received a worrying phone call this morning.
You were lounging at home- enjoying your day off- when your phone rang. You recognized the number from the very few times you had been called by one of your husband's supervisors. A doctor had informed you that your husband had had to make an emergency eject during training and hit his head pretty hard.
You had panicked immediately but the doctor assured you Bob would be just fine; he just has a fairly serious concussion and his memory and motor skills are a bit wonky at the moment. You finished up the phone call and rushed over as quickly as you could.
You aren't waiting in the lobby very long before a nurse leads you back to your husband's room. Your heart almost breaks at the sight of him in his hospital bed, looking absolutely pitiful. He's sitting up slightly with his head tilted back facing the ceiling, his eyes closed and his breathing a bit slower than usual.
"Bobby? Honey, how're you feeling?" You're by his side in an instant, one hand caressing his arm and the other brushing along his forehead as his eyes flutter a few times before his head tilts toward you. His eyes are a bit fuzzy, unfocused, but he's still got that light he's always had- like the sun itself has taken root in him and couldn't help but shine through. "'m doin' okay, how're you?" He mumbles, his tone completely serious. You can't help but laugh at him; those southern manners imbedded deep in him. "I'm okay, just worried bout you, Bobby." You run your fingers along the edge of a small bandage on his forehead, before turning and reaching for his glasses.
Carefully, you slide them onto his face and watch in amusement as his mouth drops open. You go to speak, but he beats you to it; "I think you're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen." A pretty flush rises to his cheeks and his eyes stay wide open, like he doesn't want to blink and miss any microexpression you might make.
"Oh, thank you, handsome." You grin, cupping his chin with one hand and leaning in to brush your lips against his gently. You're shocked when his shaky arms do what they can to push you away- there's not much force behind his wobbly movements, but you back away and look down at him with furrowed brows. "Nonononono, stop stop- 'm married." He frantically tries to get out despite the slur in his voice.
"Baby-" You start, fighting the giggle in your voice. He shakes his head, a beautiful pout taking over his features. "I love my wife. She's perfect- you gotta back up." His eyes screw shut, he turns his head away from you, and his shaky hands rub his eyes. "Her name's (y/n), she's fuckin' great- pardon my l-language." He mumbles, mostly to himself at this point.
"Bob. My name is (y/n). My last name's Floyd. I'm your wife." You reach out to gently grasp his wrists. Bob whips his head toward you so fast he's dizzy for a few moments. You keep your eyes on him, unsure whether to laugh or call for a nurse. Once his eyes really focus on you he seems to deflate, his arms falling to his lap and his cheeks quickly heat up a bright red. He looks.. nervous. "You okay?" You hum, slowly reaching out for him.
A beat of silence passes before he opens his mouth, his bottom lip trembling, "I missed youuu." He finally says- his hand shooting out to meet yours. He overshoots it a bit, though, and smacks your shoulder. You let out a relieved laugh, grabbing his hand and interlacing your fingers together. God, he really scared you for a second. "You're really my wife? How?" He asks, looking absolutely amazed as you run your fingers along his cheekbones.
"It's a very long story, Bobby. But I love you." You grin, leaning down to kiss his forehead. He lets out a dreamy sigh, reaching up with his free hand to grip onto your shoulder. "Yeah? God, you're so pretty." He blinks up at you, unable to fight the smile on his face.
For a moment, you're stunned by just how beautiful he is- pink cheeks, wide eyes, and a boyish grin; a little beat up and bruised but easily the most gorgeous man you've ever seen. You chest seems to swell up with all the love you feel for your husband. You feel a tugging at your shirt and realize he's said something to you. "Sorry, what'd you say, honey?"
"'m tryna sweep you off your feet, sweetheart- you're makin' it hard." Bob grumbles, letting go of your hand to grip at the front of your shirt so he can tug you down with both arms. You let out a breathy laugh, allowing him to pull you closer. "I'm so very sorry." You grin against his lips before giving in.
He tastes the same, he's got the usual enthusiasm, his technique's just a bit wonky. You honestly wouldn't change it for the world. The kiss only breaks when he's gasping and you have to push him away or he won't stop. It's his favorite thing- drowning in you; in your eyes, your lips, your pussy. God, just the thought of having you has blood rushing to his dick so fast he's a bit lightheaded.
You press one last lingering kiss to his lips before you're pulling back and turning to grab a chair. "Doctor said you gotta spend the night here so-"
"Need my pillow- need to move my pillow." Bob's voice is urgent when he interrupts you and you're letting go of the chair and running your eyes over him to see if anything's changed. "Where? Are you okay? You hurting?" You question him as you carefully slide the pillow out from behind him. He just furrows his brows and chews on his lip as you hold the pillow beside him for a moment. "Where do you want it, Bobby?" You repeat, worry clawing up your throat.
"My lap." One of his wobbly arms grabs onto the pillow and tugs it toward him- you don't let go just yet, your fear turning to confusion. A "Huh?" tumbles from your lips and Bob is grinning. "So pretty, my wife.. Gave me a kiss and I popped a boner." He sighs, still fighting with you for the pillow as he starts to giggle to himself over the word 'boner'.
You let go of the pillow with an incredulous laugh and watch as he settles it over his lap. Surely there's no way he's at full mast with all the pain meds in his system- you almost want to check- but you just shake your head and settle into the chair next to his hospital bed. You thread your fingers with his and settle your head onto his boner-hiding pillow, keeping your eyes on his as he traces his unsteady fingers along your features.
Bob stares at you in wonder, wondering what he could've done to ever possibly deserve having you. "My wife." He murmurs, reverently, like he can't quite believe it.
"Maybe we'll renew our vows when you aren't so hopped up on pain meds."

Do you know that audio on TikTok that’s like I made love to my wife 4 times and this morning she made pancakes and whatnot? Could you do a story where it’s the daggers and this is how they find out about bobs wife?
don’t stop.
robert ‘bob’ floyd x reader.

→ summary: jake attempts to catch bob out, but bob has something to reveal.
→ word count: 1K.
→ warnings: mentions of sex, smut and food.
→ authors notes: i hope i based this off the right sound, my dear anon! 🥹 i’m sorry this took so long too 🥺 my main masterlist can be found here! 💌
Bob stood beside Natasha in comfortable silence as they dressed in the appropriate gear, ready for a test flight.
They instinctively turned to face one another when the other needed help attaching a certain piece to their suit or tightening their straps. They had grown un-deniably close over the past two years, and they knew each other’s movements step by step.
Natasha’s eyebrows raised, and she let out a small groan. “Here they come.”
Bob’s breath hitched as he heard the booming voices coming through the door.
Javy sauntered in, with Jake on his heels, both snickering about something like schoolboys.
“Oh, Jake, you wouldn’t believe it.” They both swung open their lockers in sync. At a glance, you wouldn’t think that they flew separately. They were so similar as they mirrored the movements of getting their gear on.
“I made love to her four times last night. This morning, I got pancakes. She woke up at six to make them for me before I left. God, I fuckin’ love my wife.”Javy boasted with prideful laughter.
Jake only spurred him on, with a proud slap on his back and matched Javy’s amusement.
However, at Javy’s confession, Natasha snorted quietly to herself.
Jake’s head cocked to the right of him and his eyebrows raised with a questioning glance her way. He leaned back against the lockers containing their gear and attached some to himself.
“What’s so funny, Nat? You tellin’ me you could beat Javy’s record?” Jake questioned her with a smug grin pulling at the corners of his mouth.
By this time, Mickey, Rueben, and Bradley had all filtered into the room as well. They didn’t want to interrupt the ego-boosting feud that was currently unfolding in front of them. They geared up in silence but still listened with eager ears, their eyes flicking back and forth between Jake and Natasha.
She took a sharp breath between her teeth and broke Jake’s questioning gaze. She purposefully didn’t look back at the guys but calmly stated, “Well, I made love to my wife six times, and yeah, I also got breakfast.”
The silence from them both was telling. She continued fixing her gear and calmly played off her triumphant feat. It was as though it was the most normal thing in the world for her (which wasn’t far off).
She heard Bradley’s hushed whistle of “Oof,” and she smiled proudly to herself as she looked down to see where she was fiddling with a buckle on her suit.
Bob, on the other hand, had watched the entire exchange before him, with bated breath. His eyes were wide behind his glasses, and the corner of his lips twitched into a grin as he saw Jake and Javy’s bewildered faces.
If only they knew how good you were for him last night. If only they knew how pretty you looked on your knees and spread out on the soft linen, all for himself. If only they knew how pretty you sounded, as you whimpered and whined his name all—
“Bob!” Jake’s biting tone snapped his attention straight towards the blonde-haired man. “You’re lookin’ smug for a guy, who, as far as we know, hasn’t been laid in… two years?” He questioned with faux interest.
Natasha immediately belted out an amused, “Ha!”
She knew Bob better than anyone here. She had met you, Bob’s long-time wife. Natasha and her wife had been to dinner with Bob and you. She had been to BBQs in your backyard and tried your delicious home-cooked macaroni and cheese. You were even invited to her bachelorette party when she got married.
Natasha also knew that no one else knew.
Bob was private about his life away from the naval base. He had his reasons, but more than anything, he appreciated the peace he shared with his one love. You.
Jake’s jeering and deeply imposing question made his eye twitch a little from behind his glasses. He pushed his frames up the bridge of his nose with his index finger, before looping his hands into the gear on his chest. He puffed out his chest slightly and stood confidently across from Jake.
“Well? You got a wife?” Jake asked the question carelessly and casually, making Bob squirm. He severely despised people thinking about his wife like that, as if you weren’t the moon to his sun.
A beat, and Bob responded. “Yeah.”
Javy’s mouth fell open in disbelief. Mickey and Ruben had turned around to watch the whole thing by then. They nudged one another in the ribs and whispered, “I told you so!”
Bradley didn’t flinch. He knew. He saw Bob and you on the beach one evening. Bob gave him a curt nod, and when he arrived at the Navy base the next morning, Bradley swore he wouldn’t tell anyone. He understood, more than anyone, why people kept their private lives away from here.
Jake snorted, although he blinked furiously as Bob’s statement took him aback. “Okay then, Baby, how many times did you make love to them last night?”
He crossed his arms over his broad chest in an attempt to shield himself from perhaps being scolded by Bob Floyd.
“Once.”
“Once?! Oh, Bob.” Jake mocked with faux sympathy. “And did they make you anything this morning?”
“Nope.”
“Why not?”
“Because…” Bob’s gaze narrowed fiercely towards Jake. “My wife was asking me not to stop.”
There was a deafening silence, and then a chorus of bellowing laughter and jeers echoed throughout the room.
Even Javy let out a loud chuckle, gripping Jake’s shoulders and playfully shaking him. “He got you there!”
Bob cocked his head at Jake, with an assured smile now etched fully onto his lips. He asked if Natasha was ready, and then they both headed out onto the tarmac, leaving Jake behind, practically frozen in shock.
Once the rest of the guys had had enough playful jabs towards him, they all made their way out to join the others. But Jake felt a firm hand on his shoulder as the tall brunette towered over him.
“Don’t assume stuff like that, Hangman. Wait until you find out that he has a kid.”

Don't wake daddy dad!bucky x mom!reader
synopsis: you've never been able to surprise your husband considering he's an ex trained assassin, but he'll make an exception for you and your daughter on fathers day. not proofread.
wc: 1081
"Mommy when is it gonna be done?" your daughter tugged at the hem of your shirt.
"Shh baby, we don't want to wake daddy." You smiled and whispered to her as you finished plating your husbands food.
Giggles and the smell of breakfast filled Bucky's senses as he woke, eyes fluttering open from the couch that he most likely fell asleep on from being to tired to get to bed after getting in from work last night. He watched his four year old daughter clumsily walk into the living room with a marker and paper in her hand. Placing the paper on the coffee table, she locked eyes with her father and let out a gasp.
"Mommy he's awake!" She ran back to the kitchen shouting.
You looked down at your daughter who had the cutest little pout on her face, you opened your mouth to speak before you felt an arm slither around your waist.
"Mornin' love." Bucky mumbled into your neck, the grogginess apparent in his voice.
You turned to face your husband and gave him a slow kiss on his lips, "You aren't supposed to be awake mister."
"Daddy ruined the surprise." You looked back down to your daughter who was now teary eyed staring up at her father.
You glanced up at your husband who was now looking at you wide eyed before he crouched down to pick your daughter up, "I'm sorry sweetheart, I didn't mean too."
She sniffled in his arms and you watched as he gently wiped away your daughter's tears, Bucky tried to get her to stop crying but nothing was working.
You walked over to the two and placed a hand on your daughter's back as she cried, you slowly placed your head beside hers on Bucky's shoulder, "Don't be upset honey, daddy didn't know."
Bucky could feel his heart twist at his daughter's upset, especially since he's the one who caused it. The moment was too sweet for Bucky to handle, seeing his daughter cry over something so innocent while you consoled her so gently. Becoming a mother came so naturally to you, you were nurturing, loving and so selfless when it came to your family.
Your daughter wouldn't let up about the problem her poor father unknowingly caused, so Bucky decided to try and create a solution.
"How about I go back to sleep, hm? And then you and mommy can finish the surprise?" Your husband suggested in a hushed tone. Gaining not only your attention, but your daughters as well.
Your daughter's head shot up and she nodded with teary eyes. Bucky set her down and walked back to the couch but not before grabbing the hands of your and your daughter, "You and mom gotta tuck me in though, okay?"
"Okay!" Your daughter replied cheerfully, the way her could change so abruptly always surprised you and your husband.
You rolled your eyes playfully at Bucky earning a wink from him, as the three of you walked into the living room. Bucky returned to his original sleeping position and gave you a cocky grin while you placed the blanket over him.
You were just about to walk away before your daughter grabbed onto the hem of your shirt, "Mama what about goodnight kisses? Daddy needs them to sleep!"
"Yeah mama, I want my goodnight kisses." Your husband restated, the man was quite literally beaming while awaiting your kiss.
You giggled and bent down to give Bucky a peck on his forehead, but he swiftly angled his head upwards and your lips landed on his as he gripped your face gently, causing you to squeal slightly before pulling away.
"Okay, Daddy is going to bed now." You picked your daughter up as Bucky shut his eyes and went back to 'sleep'.
You walked back into the kitchen and finished setting up the breakfast tray with your daughter. You carefully walked with the tray in your hands as your daughter held a handmade drawing and a small wrapped rectangular box.
You set the tray down on the coffee table and signaled for your daughter to wake up her father. Bucky pretended to stir in his sleep earning a small chuckle from you.
"Mmm, m' so tired princess. How about you and Mommy join me?" Before either of you could respond, Bucky pulled both of you on top of him and squeezed you both. Your daughter shrieked with excitement before somehow freeing herself from Bucky's grasp,
"Daddy look what I made!!" She revealed the drawing to your husband, it was a picture of you and Bucky holding your daughter's hand along with a scramble of letters that didn't spell out anything, but he wasn't gonna tell that to his little girl. "Look I drew your arm!"
"Oh my. I love it, princess." Saying he loved it was an understatement. Bucky was on the verge of tears, he had been all morning. Bucky never thought in a million years that he would get to experience peace like this. He never thought he would ever deserve to live the domestic life, hell he still doesn't think he deserves it.
"Sweetheart, give daddy the present you got him. " You whispered.
You watched as her tiny fingers handed Bucky the small box. Your daughter watched eagerly as your husband opened the box to reveal a necklace with a small silver rectangular locket, similar to the shape of his dog tags he always wore around his neck.
Bucky's heart almost stopped as he opened the locket, inside was a picture that he had taken of you and your daughter on the beach during his birthday two years ago. The photo was of you holding your daughter in your arms, the two of you smiling in on the sand as the sunset painted the background with beautiful shades of pink, red, and orange.
That was it.
That was Bucky's breaking point, he could no longer hold back the stinging in his eyes. Tears slipped down his cheeks, he wiped them away quickly but not without you seeing.
"Daddy? You don't like it?"
"No no, I love it princess. Thank you." He said while clearing his throat, he pulled the two of you into his lap and smotherd you both with kisses.
"I love you both," He said softly
"I love you too." You pulled him into a kiss before your daughter separated the two of you.
"Ewww."
Bucky snorted out a laugh,
"Let's eat hm? Im starving."
a/n: this is completely self indulgent but idc. also late fathers day post, this was supposed to be posted three days ago oops. anways this is like a test run for me maybe posting a bucky mini fic I've been working on lol.

The Thunderbolts* reacting to reader being pregnant?? Could be platonic or romantic! 🤍
@amoebadue I love this thank you for the request! Went kinda hard for Yelena's part because that's my girl 💜
Warnings: Established relationships, pregnant reader, very minor angst in Yelena’s part.
Yelena
When Yelena got home she was so exhausted she couldn't think straight. Her head is pounding and all she can think about is getting into bed and holding you in her arms. When she makes her way to your room and doesn't immediately see you she huffs and plops down onto the bed, jostling something onto the floor. She lifts her head to peer over and reaches down to pick up the object and looks at it in confusion, it's a white box with a red ribbon tied in a bow around it. When you walk in, a smile on your face, she tilts her head.
"Open it."
She pulls the ribbon apart and lifts the lid, looking inside and when she sees the stick with two red lines down the center her heart nearly stops. You almost panic because her gaze is so intense, fixated on the test. What if she changed her mind? What if she doesn't want this anymore? What if... Your thoughts are interrupted when her raspy voice calls to you.
"Is this real?”
Her voice is pensive, unsure and shaky. When you nod you see the tears form in her eyes, the way her hand reaches for her own stomach and rests right above the scar. She's on her feet and in front of you in an instant, her forehead pressed to yours. One of her hands reaches for your abdomen. Never in a million years did she think that she would get to have this, to have a family of her own. In that moment she decides that no matter what, she'd go down swinging for the both of you.
Bob
You fiddle with the gift bag on the table, picking it up and setting it back down. You and Bob have the tower to yourselves tonight and this needs to be perfect. You're about to move it again but stop when you hear the elevator ding. The doors open a few seconds later and when he smiles at you your heart flutters, reminding you that no matter how you tell him he's still going to love you anyway. He stops at the other end of the table.
"What's all this?"
You push the bag towards him and he reaches inside, pulling out a shirt with the words "World's Best Dad". He reads it aloud to himself and you wait anxiously for him to react, to say something. It takes him a moment but when he looks at you there's tears in his eyes and his hands are clutching onto the shirt, like he's afraid this is all a dream and he's going to wake up any minute. His voice cracks.
"I'm gonna be a dad?"
Ava
When she knocked on your door and didn't hear an answer she let herself in. She didn't see you so she assumed you were still out on a mission and she knew you wouldn't mind her going into your bathroom to borrow some toothpaste. She turns on the faucet and mindlessly looks around at some of your stuff while she brushes her teeth. There's a few personal touches you've added along with what looks to be a nearly dead plant on the edge of the sink. She rolls her eyes and walks over to grab the plant but is stopped in her tracks by what she sees in your trashcan. There's not one, not two, but three pregnancy tests that all read positive. She's about to go find you when the door swings open and in you walk, a fourth box in hand.
"You must really have trust issues if the first three weren't convincing enough"
Her brow is raised and there's the usual sarcastic edge to her voice you've grown to love but you don't miss the hint of a smile on her lips. She steps closer and grabs your hand, bringing to her lips and kissing the back of it softly.
Bucky
You don't know yet how you're going to tell Bucky that you're pregnant, what if he doesn't want kids? He's said that he does, that he wants a family with you but what if he doesn't actually? What if those were just words said in the heat of the moment, meant only if you two lived in an ideal world? That morning you find him stood in the kitchen, reading some report and drinking his coffee, and you just stare at him for a long time. He clears his throat.
"Morning baby-"
"I'm pregnant"
You blurt out without thinking and for a moment you regret it because he doesn't say anything. He just looks straight ahead at you but then he smiles, a big toothy grin and he strides over and sweeps you into his arms. He spins you around before setting you softly back onto your feet all the while the smile never leaves his lips.
John
You adjust your chair, squeaking loudly. You still haven't decided how you're going to tell John but you already know no matter how you tell him he's going to be happy. The two of you have been trying for months so when you missed your period a few weeks ago you knew. You'd been trying to keep a low profile just in case, not wanting to get his hopes up until you knew for sure and this morning when you went to the doctor you got your confirmation. You were going to tell him tonight but how to bring it up...
"What can I get you two to drink?"
Your waiter interrupts your thoughts and John is about to order your usual when you shake your head and speak up, telling him you'll just do a water. He nods and walks off. John looks at you funny. You can see the gears clicking in his head and before he even says anything you know he knows.
"You're sure?"
When you nod you can see his eyes light up. He doesn't care about the eyes staring at your two when he rises from his chair and gently grabs your face, pulling you in for a tender kiss that reminds you why you fell in love with him, that this is the man you want to spend your life with and raise a family with.

Heart Glasses ~ Robert "Bob" Floyd
synopsis: You meet your husband's new squadron one by one, all without them knowing who you truly were
tw: fem!reader, reader wears glasses, reader's mom's maiden name is Hearts, Bob's from Montana, suggestive, barely edited.
fic, ficlet, drabble, request
This was purely because I've been getting more strangers complimenting my heart shaped glasses
➽──────────────❥
Robert Floyd was a private person, everyone who meets him can attest to it. But, the one thing he could never keep quiet about, was his wife. The very same wife who the Dagger Squad had never met and had never seen a photo of.
"Are we even sure baby on board even has a wife?" Jake, stupidly, asked. The others ignored him, Bob wasn't one to lie and they've all seen the ring and heard the one sided phone calls.
✧°˖ . ݁˖︵‿❀‿︵˖ . ݁˖°✧
It was Natasha that met you first, you were in the same store as her and she had spotted your glasses from farther away.
"Hi, I just wanted to tell you that I love your glasses," Natasha said as she walked up, you smiled over at her.
"Oh, thank you! My husband got them for me because my mom's maiden name is Hearts," you told her. You noticed her uniform before speaking next, "Are you Navy?"
"I am," she told you, then recited her callsign. You smiled at her, told her that was a cooler call sign, and then you two said your goodbyes before leaving. As you walked away, you realized that had to be the Phoenix your husband was back seating for.

You met Bradley next, your dad was also an enjoyer of Hawaiian shirts and his birthday was coming up. You saw a man walking around the same store you were in holding the perfect one for your father.
"Hi, I'm sorry to bother you, but where did you find that shirt?" You questioned the taller stranger.
"Oh, back there," Bradley pointed behind him snd your eyes caught sight of the shirt.
"Thank you!" You told him, racing off with a muted goodbye.

Bradley and Natasha figured out their stranger interactions had been the same person at the Hard Deck a few days later.
"I ran into the woman who asked where I found this shirt at the mall the other day," Bradley told the group. "She had these heart glasses and it was like her whole face lit up when I told her," Bradley said, he was lamenting the fact that he never asked if she was single.
"Wait," Natasha cut in. "Did she have a black purse with a butterfly attachment and y/h/c hair?" Natasha questioned. y/h/c = your hair color
"Yeah, how did you know?" Bradley questioned, his face scrunched in confusion.
"That's the woman I complimented on her glasses! She's married, her husband got her glasses for her," Natasha told Bradley, her face twisting into disgust at his earlier words of wanting to take her out.
"Damn, that's one lucky man then," Bradley mused, everyone missing the small grin growing on Bob's face. He had figured you were the one they were talking about.

Mickey was the next to meet you, he had recognized your description from the others and wanted to double check you were you. You were just walking to your car from work.
"Hi, this may sound weird but did you ask a taller man with a mustache about a Hawaiian shirt and get complimented on your glasses by a woman whose call sign is Phoenix?" Mickey rushed out before you could run away from the odd question.
"Oh, yeah, why?" You had subtly taken a step back from him.
"I'm in their squadron! They will never believe that I met you," Mickey pumped his fist in the air and you relaxed.
"Oh, well, hello," you laughed gently, your smile easy. "What do they call you?"
"Fanboy, but my name's Mickey, ma'am," he offered his hand and you shook it.
"Nice to meet you Mickey," you offered your name before walking away, you got in the car and let yourself laugh even harder. These were definitely the people from your husband's squadron.

Jake was next, he hit on you before you even looked at him.
"What's a darling lady like you doing alone?" Jake slid into your space, you were grocery shopping for breakfast while Bob slept in a bit.
"Mu husband's asleep," you told him, turning to face him.
"Wait, no way, you're the infamous y/n?" He perked up and you realized what was happening.
"Are you another from the group of people from the same squadron that I keep running into?" You questioned, a humorous smile growing on your face.
"I am, the name's Hangman," he offered his hand and you shook it.
"Well, I have no idea how many more of you there are," you lied. "But tell the others I'm excited to run into them as well," you bit him farewell while leaving, missing Jake pulling his phone out to text the Dagger Squad group.
Bagman: You'll never guess who I ran into Phoenix: Heart glasses y/n? Bagman: At the grocery store Rooster: You hit on her, didn't you? Fanboy: He most definitely did Phoenix: Did she bring up her husband? Bagman: She did Payback: I was supposed to meet her next! Coyote: I call next time

You met Ruben next, much to Javy's dismay. You were at the gym and Ruben couldn't find his earbud case.
"Hi, sorry," Ruben automatically apologized when you slightly jumped. "I didn't mean to scare you, it's just that I was using this machine earlier and I can't find my earbud case. Have you seen one around here by chance?"
"Oh, is it blue?" You questioned, your glasses slowly falling down your face. It brought them to Ruben's attention and you saw him get excited.
"Yeah, it is, you wouldn't happen to be y/n, would you?"
"I am, are you apart of that Navy squadron?" You grabbed the blue earbud case you had seen under the machine earlier and handed it to him.
"That I am," he affirmed and you gave him a small smile. "Thanks for this," he lifted the case up just enough for you to see it.
"You're welcome,' you paused, waiting for his name.
"Payback or Ruben, ma'am," he told you and you nodded once. You two went your separate ways and as you left for the locker room, you texted your husband.

The last to meet you was Javy, he saw you as you walked into the hangar. You were there to pick up Bob since you had to borrow his truck while your car was in the shop, and Javy recognized your description right away.
"Holy shit, you're y/n! I'm Coyote or Javy!" He practically shouted, causing many to look over at you. You were suddenly surrounded by the entire squadron, questions flying at you faster than you could process.
Your savior came in the form of your husband, as always. His hand wrapped around your wrist and gently pulled you to him, his hand slipping right to it's home on your waist. "Are you ok?" Bob lowly asked in your ear, you nodded with a bright smile on your face.
"Wait," Jake called out but his shock made him pause. "Your husband's baby on board?"
"Yeah, my husband's Bob," you told him, your eyes sharpening at the name Jake called him.
"How long have you known who we were?" Natasha asked.
"Since you, well, I didn't know who Bradley was until Bobby came home and told me. I'm sorry for never asking your name to properly thank you," you apologized to the man but he waved you off.
"I think that's ok, I did accidentally tell your husband how I was upset at myself for never asking you out," Bradley told you and you laughed at the feeling of Bob tightening his hold on you.
"He told me about that, while I appreciate two of you thinking I'm attractive, I am very happy in my marriage," you told them, it was enough to snap Jake out of his shock.
"How the hell did Bob bag you?" Jake exclaimed and you looked over at him again.
"He's got a huge," Bob cut you off with a tug away from the others.
"Ok, that's enough," your husband told you with ear tipped ears. You gave him a sweet smile as you heard the laughter from his squad. Bob led you away from them and out of the building and to the car. "You're going to pay for that," Bob told you as he started his truck, his hand landing on your thigh.
"I can't wait," you told him, your smile widening just a little bit more.

Bob had been tripping over himself to make sure everything was just right. The courage to ask you out had been a long time coming—almost a year in the making—and he wasn’t about to waste the opportunity.
The restaurant was nothing too fancy, a local soho kinda thing in a quiet part of town. Somewhere you both wouldn’t be noticed. If that was possible.
His outfit was simple a creme colored collar shirt with light-washed jeans. He even threw on a watch, smoothed his hair back just to impress you.
Everything was planned: what he would order, what’d he say, all to be wrapped up with a walk if his cards played out right.
Except Bob’s mind seemed to go blank when you walked in, face seemingly glowing with excitement once you laid your eyes on him. His own excitement was almost eclipsed with a sort of panic. What if he messed things up?
His knee bounced as he watched the server walk off with his mumbled order. A shock of surprise went through him at your hand on top of his.
“You okay?” You asked gently. There you were always checking on him, even wished you’d never noticed. You couldn’t do that. You had the same pull to him as he did to you. He felt like it was a miracle sometimes.
“Hm? Yeah, M’fine. I’m alright.” His answer was quick, casual on the surface.
You stared at him from across the table with a single raised brow. You leaned forward. “Just dandy?”
“Yeah, no, I’m a little nervous. Just a bit.” Bob came clean, meeting you in the middle like it was a secret.
“Don’t be. It’s just me,”
“It’s not just you, y’know. It’s..” How could he illustrate how important this was to him? Without being creepy, of course. You weren’t just anything. “I just wanna do this right.”
“This is right.” You insisted. “This is..perfect.” You leaned back, eyeing him with soft eyes and a barely contained smile. "And besides I don't need a perfect moment, I just need you, B.”
Bob’s eyes, blue and uncertain, flickered between yours, looking for the truth. Whether or not you were just placating him. Lying to him. And all he saw a genuineness that never favored in the time that you knew him. He believed you.
thank you for reading!
