anyway the actual point of fandom is to inspire each other. reading each other's fics and admiring each other's art and saying wow i love this and i feel something and i want to invoke this in other people, i want to write a sentence that feels like a meteor shower, i want to paint a kiss with such tenderness it makes you ache, i want to create something that someone else somewhere will see it and think oh, i need to do that too, right now. i am embracing being a corny cunt on main to say inspiring each other is one of the things humanity is best at and one of the things fandom is built for and i think that's beautiful

Took a walk and started thinking of the Beekeeper's Picnic again ... Honestly, I don't think there's a perfect English translation of how I feel about this Holmes: Ich hab ihn so lieb. - He is so dear to me. I love him so. I feel so much tenderness for him. I want to hold him very gently in the palm of my hand (together with his Watson, of course, that's kind of the point).

I just ... he's so soft, and I feel so actively soft when I think of him. He's just such a kind and good person, but he knows he is flawed, and in the past has made things for others and especially himself so much harder than they would have had to be if he had just learned to be kinder with himself a bit earlier. He cares so deeply about those around him, not only his Watson, also the others in his community, especially children. Animals. He's whimsical and doesn't take himself too seriously, and though his powers (and especially eyesight) have lessened, he does not hesitate to help those around him. Not because he's Sherlock Holmes, but because he is a genuinely good person.

Honestly, I tear up a little when I think about how after so so many years in which people have always, always loved him, he is finally happy, and free to love his companion in any way he wants, thanks to the labour of love of all the gifted creators who were a part of this project (and especially @beekeeperspicnic of course). He is, finally, finally at peace, and free to be the best version of himself, the best person Sherlock Holmes could possibly be. Yeah. Thinking about that.
