The Weekly Prescripts (#07)

Hello, all. The week has been mild for me. I must wonder, how has it been for you all?

I haven't had a chance to think about it often, but with the growing popularity of individuals who present themselves to a public audience like the fixers of the Cinq West, a strange idea passed my mind.

Most fixers are beholden to their contracts, made to follow the whims of those above them. The entertainers who record themselves are similar, yet do they not also follow the whims of those they entertain?

A contract in ink, held by those above. And another unspoken, hidden in the gaze of those below...

Hm, but the consequences for failure are incomparable. Popularity and survival, does the latter not always outweigh the former?

I suppose such pointless thoughts are why I find it easier to follow the Prescripts...

Write and recite a poem to a plant.

I would say yes. It's been a while since I've cared for one, but I find them to be quite pleasant creatures.

Unfortunaty my current assigned residence forbids the presence of animals, but such is the will of the Prescripts.

Not that I've delivered. It would certainly be possible though, but depending on the method of delivery it could lead to ill effects.

Between a letter written in toxic ink or a message burned into a piece of film, it could certainly amount to a challenge.

I hear rumours that a large number of thumb Soldatos have begun the process of congregating in the East. I cannot help but wonder why?

When it comes to organisation and structure I must admit that the Thumb has few rivals. I assume it must be a major event for such an event to draw the attention of Soldatos, rather than smaller subsidiary groups who operate on a local level.

Well, I have yet to receive any Prescripts related to such an event, nor have I received any information from my other, more reliable sources, thus I must conclude that such events not my concern for the time being.

The Weekly Prescripts (#02)

If you are reading this, the following are your Prescripts for this week. You are advised to accomplish at least one within ~168 hours, however you are not required to finish the entire list.

Challenge a stranger to a game of hide and seek. They do not need to accept.

Go for a walk. Before returning home you must collect at least 5 unique leaves or rocks.

Drink water out of exactly 3 different containers for a day.

Sing a song you hate out of an open window.

Acquire a scented candle.

'Unique construction'?

Mhm. The arm was delivered to me by a Proselyte some time ago, I know little of its origins or the nature of its construction.

In place of where a typical hand would be, an unusual mechanism replaces it which I use to fulfill my duties. I can best describe the device as somewhat like a viscous metallic fluid which I can only assume to be controlled by some sort of magnet embedded within.

For the most part, I use it as one would a typical appendage, manipulating it into the appearance of a typical hand. But at times where I am forced to use it in combat it has proven to be quite effective.

It's interesting. When I first began my work I expected to encounter more of the other syndicates, but I belive I've yet to encounter any of the other fingers thus far.

Perhaps it's due to high active presence of fixer offices?

As part of my duties in maintaining this page, It appears I am obligated to express my opinions on matters related to my day-to-day life, as well as occasionally sharing random thoughts that I may have. This is somewhat unfamiliar to me, as formulating and expressing opinions is not a mandatory component of my duties as a Messenger, but such is the will of the Prescripts.

Wildest prescripts you've seen/heard of?

The longest Prescript I've had to deliver was a t-shirt covered completely in text. I cannot remember all the details, as the text was printed in a small font which I was unable to read particularly thoroughly, though I do remember it mentioning something about bypassing a security checkpoint... and something about honey as well?

The strangest one I've personally witnessed was simply "Fly." As we left the building after delivering it a small group of proselytes and I watched the man jump from a window.

He seemed like he was smiling on the way down.
