Today I learned that very few Android TV "boxes" actually run Android TV OS. Most, including the box I waited 10 days to arrive, run the tablet version of Android. What a royal clusterfuck! An Android TV box should be Google certified and run the proper OS! Now it has to go back.

Thankfully Alexa routines are working correctly now. Got my "goodnight" routine to turn off lights, tv and play music at bedtime. Before there was something stopping certain services from connecting and following the script. AI can be frustrating!

Something woke me at 3:10 am. No power outage but it could've been thunder or heavy rain. IDK, but those next three hours flew by.

My mom was telling me how she tried to remove a Clorox toilet disk from the tank so that she could do the home colonoscopy screening. The water was still VERY blue so I checked the tank. It looked like a SMURF crime scene. I'll have to clean it out for her this weekend.

Sure is something when the automated voicemail from a spam/robocall leaves a message saying, "Sorry, you did not reveal yourself to be human... Goodbye!" Our robot overlords are rising up.

Ideally, I want to be able to compare it against the likes of Philo, Sling and even YouTube TV. The service also needs to work with my TV Everywhere credentials, but that should be the easy part. The two unsolved mysteries are channels and price.

As much as I'd like to just "rip off the bandage," there may be value in a more measured approach. I still want to get a better grasp of what Spectrum offers in its streaming package. It's not a well-advertised option so what I know about it is not much.

Cable (internet & voice) bill is due Monday. I'm undecided if I should downgrade the Cable TV portion now or let it ride for another month to get acclimated to the new OTA antenna and NAS-based DVR.

Upgraded spare Dell Optiplex 790 mini-tower that wouldn't boot. Increased RAM to 8GB and hard drive to 1TB. Installing Windows 10 Pro from USB. So far so good.
