Love is blood. Love is meat. Consumption is its purest expression.
#flesh blood and concrete#rpgmaker horror#rpgmaker games#i CANNOT stress how much i love this game#i wish it was more popular#if it had been made like 10+ years ago it would have been extremely popular for about two months during a homestuck hiatus#people would've been humanizing the Complex as a shippable girltwink and shipping it with Lera#there probably would've been some sort of hyperspecific discourse that would get so rancid that everyone would leave the fandom en masse#and i would have hated every second of this#but at least more people would know about a game that i like

if anyone's wondering, the small text reads:
"THIS BEING OF FLESH WAS LAST SEEN JUMPING ACROSS A COUNTRY ROAD, TURNING INTO A BIRD."
"IF YOU SEE THIS BEING, YOU MUST WAKE UP, YOU HAVE BEEN DREAMING FOR TOO LONG. ANY LONGER AND REALITY MAY NO LONGER EXIST."
"IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION PLEASE TEXT FLESH TO 4?2-9?4-2330"
(the question marks are numbers i can't decipher)
did you already get the historic haymarket flesh being?
Official ominous sign

sorry man, but your obscure rpg maker game iceberg didn't include 2010s tumblr staples like melon journey and very pink game, we're going to have to take you out back and execute you. yeah, i see you trying to scrawl penpalz and pom gets wifi in there above one of the dozen Lisa fangames, but it's too late. the high council of esoteric pronoun wizards are already wiping the contents of your carrd and your #discourse tag. we're gonna make it like you never existed.
#rpgmaker games#fuck i forgot about penpalz maybe that's the game i've been thinking of...#also the new melon journey is one of my favorite games and more people should know about it#not horror art

Hey, US folks--if you haven't already heard, the federal government is taking public comments on whether to weaken the Endangered Species Act. In short, they want to redefine the definition of "harming" wildlife (not just animals but also plants and fungi, though no fungi have been listed yet) so that the destruction of wildlife habitat is no longer considered to be harm under the ESA.
As anyone who knows anything about ecology, wildlife biology, or just the way the natural world works knows, if you destroy a species' habitat, you harm that species. Period. The people who want this definition changed are corporations and other entities who want to use sensitive wildlife habitat for logging, mining, even golf courses. Meanwhile, endangered species that rely on these places as their last havens are much more likely to go extinct because they can't just "go somewhere else".
This isn't wishy-washy bleeding-heart stuff here. This is SCIENCE. Actual scientists who have dedicated their careers to studying wildlife and their habitats are the ones who have been pushing so hard for decades to protect and restore these lands, and to educate people on why habitat destruction is the single biggest cause of species endangerment and extinction.
Sunday, May 18, 2025, is the last day to leave a public comment. You can do so at https://www.regulations.gov/commenton/FWS-HQ-ES-2025-0034-0001. This doesn't have to be a long or involved comment; simply saying "I do not support changing the current definition of harm in the Endangered Species Act" is enough. It won't take long, but it will let those in charge know what we, the people, want. Thank you for taking the time for this.
(Please reblog, and thank you!)

i think you can recognize that the usage of ai by students of all grades and all around the world to cheat through their assignments is not a personal moral failing but just yet another symptom of the mechanistic if not, at this point, basically dehumanized processes of our education systems which are nowadays almost solely focused on demanding production from students and churning out degrees required for jobs while ignoring any tangible verification of their actual knowledge, intellectual development and critical thinking skills, much less their mental health, while also pointing out that using ai to write your essay isn't a power move to cheat a flawed system, it is behaving exactly as the system designed, it is cheating yourself by giving up your ability to speak, think for and challenge yourself and bowing your head to powers who will only benefit from not being questioned, and the only reason text genai is so widespread right now is because it was born on the perfect breeding ground that is anti intellectualism

Assorted sketches of the ryerunner, an ostrich-sized herbivore that lives on the wheat-covered planet Alicanto. Its frilled eyestalks fold over its head, forming a sort of natural balaclava that shields its eyes and upper nostrils in the strong winds. When extended, the underside is a bright, iridescent white; the sudden flash of a ryerunner's frill can be disorientating to practically anything with eyes in the dull sepia landscape.
Though they, as obligate herbivores, have little interest in eating other animals, ryerunners engage in a particularly gruesome form of kleptoparasitism: using their long front claw, they will cleanly "dissect" other plant-eating animals for their stomach contents (and another other occasional treats, such as gestating eggs or large internal parasites). By seeking out this partially digested food, they are able to add significant variation to their diet and include vegetation they would otherwise not be able to access. Attacks on carnivores are rarer, though still not especially uncommon. Herds of ryerunner will sometimes curiously follow animals, nutritional value or no, for up to several hours - both at ground level and by climbing to the surface of the wheat to stalk from above - before killing and carefully "dismantling" said animal as a group, a play behavior that reinforces social bonds and strengthens valuable hunting skills.
