" Mmmmm. I must say, the painter really caught my good side with this one. " Veronath seemed rather pleased with himself, fondly smiling at the brilliant artwork. No matter how it turned out, he had already reserved a space for it on the wall of the Sunscorn estate. Hands that had been tempered by training brought this magnificent piece to the wall. " What do you think, mother? "
The numbed, orange-haired woman stared at the artwork, eyes that were in a constant tiredness and turmoil of sorts. Though, she couldn't help but at least smile softly for her son. " ... I cannot deny that my son has quite the personality on him in this work. The painter really did outdo themselves. But I cannot help but wonder... why the choice of pose? "
Veronath actually shrugged, smiling at her motherly brightly. " Because while I may have chosen to take my father's place, I want a reminder of when my mother use to read to me stories. When she would even take an interest in bestowing her former studies in the weaving of flames. Being a Sunscorn is more than just smiling. It's about praising the Sun and the Light that it radiates. And we do that by bringing that to others. And just as Father had always bright his smile, I wish to bring my warmth. Whether it be humor, kindness, or honor, I will strive to make you and father proud of me. "
His mother's tightened her grip on the hem of her dress, looking at if she may cry at any moment. It was bittersweet. While she missed his father to blazes, she couldn't' deny that her son had grown up. All she could ever hope for is that he finds happiness, with or without her. " The next time you see that painter... you thank her for me, would you? She has done me an honor in you... "
Veronath confidently sashayed over and immediately wrapped his arms around his mother, giving her his kindness in the moment. " I shall. I shall tell her that you speak of praises as high the day star! "
[[ Thank you once again @handhourgalleries this was too good not to make it an IC integration of my character. <3 ]]

It has been a whirlwind of activity in the last few days. My room is finally finished and all of my things moved into the Damp which is pleasant in many ways.
Unlike the Silvermoon Inn, which regularly hosts parties and events for the Sin’dorei locals, the Damp is a quiet refuge with an extravagant library and food or drink as desired. The Nameless seem to keep everything not only properly running but well stocked and clean. Or I assume it is the Nameless. No dust gathers in my room or on any other surface. It is like having an army of invisible scullery, cooks and other needed workers without ever knowing their name or anything about them. I assume, of course, that the Defiler knows about them. It is a rather odd place to be, having people around me I personally have not vetted or know. It takes a bit of personal acclimation I wasn’t aware I would need. One more area of growth.
Since everything is essentially taken care of, I had time to attend the World Faire Carnival this year. I admit to being slightly overwhelmed with the people, light and noise around me, feeling a bit out of place and suddenly two Sin’dorei swooped in and rescued me. Again, an odd place for me to be. I am still getting used to this facade and it’s forever interesting to have these new experiences.
Lady Naralinthe Emberdawn and Lord Veronath Sunscorn rescued me quite pleasantly and we attended a theatre production together. There was a musical selection beforehand which made the entire visit worthwhile. I sadly had to leave as the production began but found a few moments to peruse the shops before leaving. I didn’t find anything I wished to buy, but I hope to get back before the Carnival is over this week.
It is an interesting life, if somewhat mundane lately. I suppose one should take the respite while it comes, for as soon as you become accustomed to quiet you find yourself on the edge of death again.

Ship Veronath and the Lioness
" Oh.... Oh my... " Lord Sunscorn actually flushed at the idea of such a pairing. A gloved hand reaching to rub his blazing scalp in a shy demeanor. He didn't realize that today could feel any warmer than it already was until this very moment. " .. You really think so? I mean, I am quite honored by the thought, but I am not sure the Madame has the time to court one such as myself. Quite the ravishing feline she is, but I am no one special. Just a young lord seeking to find his place in this world. " A smile spread across his features, bowing his head respectfully on the matter at hand. It was a blessing to even be thought of a possibility.

Hate me, love me, miss me - Veronath
Hate: “Considering we have only met once or twice, darling, I must admit I don’t know you well enough to speak ill of your habits.”
Love: “You seem like a charming young man brimming with potential. Life is riddled with woes, yet you are navigating it beautifully. Your positive disposition will carry you great distances if you manage to retain it. I sincerely do hope you do.”
Miss: “I see the blush in your cheeks and how easily you get flustered when I am near. Hold onto that passion for as long as you can. It will bring you a woman worthy of continuing your family legacy.”
