Patalliro! is fascinating to me because of stuff like this. It's unapologetically gay - even within its anime which aired during primetime hours in 1982 - in a way that many later BL manga would never be, like the ones from the early 2000s which would never dare to call their characters actual homosexuals. Patalliro has actually aged quite well in this regard, there's something comforting about how campy it is.

Need you guys to know I am soooo anti generative AI. In case that wasn't clear. It's bad for the environment, unethical, theft, and will never be as freaky as me. It is inferior in every way

There was actually no skating in the sk8 OVA. Aren't even pretending this is about skateboarding anymore.

The thing is; while Langa is generally a quiet character, he loves Reki so loudly. It’s in everything he does.
His first and main reason for wanting to skate against Adam is because he’s furious at Adam for hurting Reki, which is something he states directly. When they’re at the beach and Reki goes to copy Joe’s trick but Langa stops him gently and reminds him that he’s injured and needs to take care of himself. When he acknowledges that he’s wrong and it’s on him to begin to mend their relationship. When he shows up and just waits at Reki’s house for hours just for a chance to see Reki again. When Reki only has one good hand and Langa opens his water for him without being asked or making it a big deal.
And then there’s the more obvious things like taking an interest in the things that interest Reki, listening to and encouraging Reki, and always making sure Reki knew how amazing he is.
Like standing on a rooftop and shouting to the world that he loves Reki would be quieter than everything he does to show his love.

I made @fluffyartbl0g and @otaku553 watch sk8 the infinity and the yaoi stocks have never been higher. I like. Really like them. A whole lot.
The stroke awards context: magma gave us updated of brush stroke milestones but mine kept giving them to me for some reason for each canvas. Magma’s new layout sucks, get your shit together magma, let me get to the select lasso tool again wtf.

I adore the new perspective that the One Piece Fan Letter gives us on the Paramount War.
Because all you see when you watch the anime are glimpses of the smaller lives, it mostly focuses on the big players
But with Fan Letter you can really see how terrified some of the marines were from the guy who almost fell off the edge looked up and saw Mihawk to the brothers caught between Mihawk and Crocodile
The Captain protecting his men from being crushed and the marine just sitting next to his dead comrades body in the middle of all this fighting.
I do wonder how many marines either quit, were unable to continue due to physical injuries or who lost faith in their superiors because of it.

I wrote about this over on my twitter but I'll copy it over wholesale here.
So I've watched one piece fan letter twice and throughout this beautiful work the prevailing color is this deep burning blue. It is so blue it hurts my teeth. On first watch it reminded me of a certain painting and on a second I'm sure. It's based off of this:

Yves Klein's Blue Monochrome. "Klein famously declared the blue sky to be his first artwork." And, "Klein saw monochrome painting as an “open window to freedom, as the possibility of being immersed in the immeasurable existence of color.”" If I'm right that is so sweet....

The fan letter has once again proved the only decent marines are the ones that treat kids kindly
