I've posted over 100 works on AO3, and my average chapter length is probably around 1K. I love writing that way. It keeps the pace up which keeps my attention and interest. It means I can post daily when I'm really inspired.

It's a short little morsel that people can read during a coffee break or a bus ride, and I like the idea of someone sneaking off to read my fic and not having to worry about being caught.

I've got a 70K fic with 53 chapters. A 48K fic with 48 chapters. A 5300 word fic with 14 chapters. And that's fine. That's how I write. Doing it differently wouldn't sound like me anymore.
