Sunflower Spooks
Another monster from the Pacific Nukewest, just in time for the harvest season!
These are just lore pages, but later on they might become a little more! If you want to use them in a ttrpg campaign or something, feel free!

I don't have stats listed on this page, because I might do some for my own thing later- but if you want to adapt them to anything you're playing they're fairly strait forward!
Their main attacks are just body slamming and absorbing victims into their radioactive slime, but they're often carrying all kinds of equipment that they're more than happy to test on their victims! You could easily give them knife arms, guns, explosives- or even power armor! They don't really have a sense for tactics or self preservation, so you can have them go nuts with whatever sounds fun in the moment!
And if you want to be extra mean, you could give them the ability to disarm opponents and add their weapons to their arsenals!
PNW Monster: Glommie Hive
I thought I should do some monsters from the Pacific Nukewest for Halloween!
They're just little lore pages, but they might become more later on! If you want to use them in a ttrpg campaign or something, feel free!

PNW: Latex Crafting
This is a brief look at the way some wastelanders make their clothes! Latex is far from the only textile in the Pacific Nukewest, but its relatively popular!
It took ages to put this one together. Not only for the art itself, but for the research put into it! I read up on the ancient history, the patent for vulcanization, videos of modern factories- and I still feel like I don't know everything. If I left anything out, feel free to let me know! I might put your feedback in a part 2 later!
Alright, now I need to figure out what I'm drawing next!

Actually! I have a new new method now!!
==================
Tap a plant that produces raw latex, like Hevea brasiliensis, Ficus elastica, or Ficus carica, or Parthenium argentatum. If all else fails, you can use dandelions! If you have the patience to pick several acres for a single glove's worth.
Mix raw latex in a tray with sulfur, a coagulating agent like calcium chloride or acetic acid, and add any dye you want! Wait for it to partially solidify, and begin flatting the material. A metal roller should work well! (Morning glories are convenient source of sulfur if you are unable to synthesize it. The Olmec people were mixing morning glory sap with raw latex in 1,600 bc!) Now you have an RSS sheet! You can use RSS sheets for garments, but they might melt on you in a hot day! So you'll need to use step three to finalize it!
Vulcanize the latex by heating metal rollers to 200-500 fahrenheit, and roll your sheets through it! Now you should have a pristine, during rubber sheet ready for the wasteland! But there is one final thing you can do to make it hypoallergenic!
Chlorinate your rubber by soaking it in chlorine for several hours! Just make sure to be EXTREMELY CAREFUL not to breathe the chlorine gas or it'll turn your lungs inside out! Then clean it thoroughly once you're done!
I've run into a bit of a snag! I know where latex comes from, and I know parts of how its harvested, but I don't know how the sheets used in catsuits are manufactured!
They don't look like RSS sheets, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're made with a similar method!

Okay, I think I may have a working recipe!! I had some help from a few friends, but it may still be incomplete! Would anybody have anything to add to it? I sadly don't have the means to test it myself just yet!
===================
Tap a plant that produces raw latex, like Hevea brasiliensis, Ficus elastica, or Ficus carica, or Parthenium argentatum. If all else fails, you can use dandelions! If you have the patience to pick several acres for a single glove's worth.
Coagulate the raw latex in a tray, using an agent like calcium chloride or acetic acid. Then wait for it to harden, and press it flat. (Now you have an RSS sheet! For basic low quality garments, you can stop here! But you will likely need something a bit more durable and flexible!)
Powderize the latex, and mix that powder with sulfur. Then apply spread it between metal plates and apply pressure and heat! (You may want to use an additional catalyst as well, like magnesia or zincite.)
Alternatively, you can also mix natural rubber with morning glory sap! Morning glory contains all the necessary ingredients to vulcanize rubber, just mix, form, and heat!
I've run into a bit of a snag! I know where latex comes from, and I know parts of how its harvested, but I don't know how the sheets used in catsuits are manufactured!
They don't look like RSS sheets, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're made with a similar method!

Alright! This comm took a little while, but its ready!
Its Squel's city, Neo Dratina! I tried to draw some of the prominent locations, and fit as many people from Squel's discord server as I could! All of the information of the OCs are in the text boxes hovering over them!
And here's Squel's FA page! If you'd like to see more of her universe! https://www.furaffinity.net/user/squel/

Weird story. A couple years ago I was going to do the art assets for an adult indie game, and I let slip that I'm trans. They said, "Oh, I hope you're not like the last one." and showed me memes their last artist made that went like, "In my headcanon, all your characters are trans." and I had to choke back a laugh, trying to pretend that not all transgirls are deranged meme goblins. XD
Then the game project imploded. I was originally going to do the art for free, because I wanted to get my name out there. Then my girlfriend at the time was like, "The hell you are-" and the game project was never able to find another artist for their 0 dollar budget.

You could travel a little further back in time, if you're willing to speculate. Emoticons like "uwu" and "^_^" don't really have a lot in common with emoticons from the English speaking internet, but they do have a lot in common with kaomoji like these! (* ^ ω ^) Kaomoji are Japanese emoticons, which have existed in various form since the mid 80s. So while UwU seems to have appeared in the early 2000s, the designs that may have inspired UwU actually predate the world wide web itself.
But while its hard to find a timeline for the evolution of kaomoji, we do know a little! The very first one was (^_^), sent by Yasushi Wakabayashi on June 20th 1986!
I wasn't able to figure out when the first the first ω or w appeared in kaomoji, but if my own faulty memories are to be trusted... I thiiiink I remember that variations of ω and w emoticons were already in use before 2005. So the missing link between (^_^) and UwU might still be out in the wild!
Its hard to say, tbh! ^w^
You ever think about the first person who wrote out “uwu” and wonder if they knew the storm that would be unleashed?

PNW: Y2K Revivalism
Here's another look into the Pacific Nukewest! Specifically, what it was like before the nuke part!
The pre-wasteland was covered in clunky robots, graffiti, polycules, and femboys! The Pacific Northwest was in a golden era of punk, and everyone wanted to be at their concerts when the world ended! Drunk off their asses, and frozen like Pompeii in the arms of their loved ones! (Of course, that wouldn't be till the 2070s, but don't tell them that! They're having fun!)
Color them surprised, but more than a few of them would go on to have grandkids! Not only the first post-apocalyptic generation, but the founders of new societies from the ruins of the old. Though, it's not like they paid any attention to their elders. They were punks, after all!
--
Anywho, more details coming soon!

I did a commission for Squel! https://www.furaffinity.net/user/squel/ There's no story behind this as far as I know. It's just Squel! At a low angle! It might, possibly, be too lewd for Tumblr. We'll see!
