ORIKATANA🦢⛩️💮 (Grus Chartabellum) "A majestic omnivorous avian from the eastern lands. The Orikatana is as beautiful as it is deadly, equipped with a head structure like that of a kabuto helmet and a firm frontal horn strikingly similar to a katana which they use to attack in swings. 

Adults grow stunning wings and a tail as thin as paper, almost resembling a wedding dress or a fan, while the chicks have been often compared to paper fortune tellers given their peculiar (cute) shape. This species has absolutely mastered the art of gliding and makes for a beautiful sight when spotting a flock. 

These feisty birds are very similar to cranes both in appearance and behavior. They mate for life and have long become a symbol of loyalty, luck and good marriage."

Among enchanted creatures, there is a special class: the Child-Eaters, who are themselves a subcategory of the Child-Scare-ers. I like to imagine that these monsters sometimes get together, and just like we bring a nice cheese or a bottle of wine to a picnic, they also bring their provisions to share, and say:

“Mate, try this baby—so soft and juicy!” “Wait till you taste this one—real high-class!"

The blind warrior

Holtrax is a custom race for the new campaign I'm playing, his race has evolved to adapt in the underdark, he lacks eyes but he is not fully blind, he can " sense " beings around him, his axe helps him during fights as he can see through it ( he prefers to just use his "sight " in fight ). He had a tail but decided to cut it off so he could wear his armor.

His species lives in the dark, they use echolocation to hunt, while to communicate they use the part of the head where there should be eyes (pretty much their forehead), as of why he cut off his tail, the armor set was made for a no tail person. He uses the eye on his axe to know precisely where the enemies are, then the eye closes and hits directly after.

He was supposed to be in a custom dnd campaign but it didnt work out in the end, but he is getting a feature in the main campaign I'm in!

i'm trying do what you suggested in chapter eight where i pretend that there aren't any (or in my case very few) supernatural elements in eureka. it's really fun lying to people. hey that should be a trait.

Awesome! This is actually how the first major Eureka playtest went and it was a blast. Can’t wait to hear about how this goes!

Originally, this was supposed to be the main way that Eureka is experienced, but as the game developed we came to realize that it just wasn’t feasible to mandate that, at least without a big marketing budget behind us

Since we have no marketing budget to brainwash people into playing, we can’t exactly get away with “Hey guys, want to play a mystery/horror game where there’s no supernatural elements?” The people who would actually like the supernatural elements would of course say no, and the people who say yes would be disappointed to find out they were tricked and the game isn’t actually what they wanted. Basically the supernatural stuff is absolutely crucial to us getting any attention or traction at all.

Of course, Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy can still be played without ever interacting with anything from the supernatural section and it works perfectly well like that too.
