Guys. Guys please. We have to remember that protagonist is not a stand in word for hero and antagonist is not a stand in word for villain. Please. We learned this in middle school. The protagonist is the character the audience follows. The antagonist is the character who is working against the protagonist.

There doesn’t need to be a moral element to liking or disliking a character. You can just say you’re not a fan instead of wholesale making shit up to turn preference into a moral position like.
Who are you trying to justify your tastes to babe? Is it God? Your mom?

I also think that all the "um okay knives out & glass onion were good. Wrap it up now" posts are so funny. You're tripping if you think there's not going to be at least five Benoit Blanc films lol

You guys are bad enablers (I say this fondly) and now I'm thinking about that Fallout-inspired Erik-and-Christine-go-on-the-run-together AU:
Erik takes Christine behind the mirror and all ensues as it does in the book. Christine unmasks Erik, she's horrified and furious, he has his meltdown, the next day dawns.
But THEN she wakes up in Erik's mom's basement house under the opera, and finds him hurriedly packing two bags. (It's the shah--Nadir has sent word that the shah's men finally have found Erik and they're out for revenge. There's no time left.)
"Get up," he says curtly, mask firmly back in place. "We are leaving."
She balks. "What?"
"I've retrieved some essentials from your dressing room. We must take only that which you can carry. We leave immediately."
Her stomach lurches to her throat. "Leave? What--?"
"Ask no questions," he snaps, stuffing something that looks worryingly sharp into his bag, "And I shall tell you no lies. Get dressed. We are leaving now."
"I'm not going anywhere with you," she spits.
He freezes, the ridges of his shoulder blades tensing. She swallows, gritting her teeth, hands balled into fists.
He turns, slowly, those curious, sunken yellow eyes all but pinning her to the wall.
"Your choices," he says, his voice a low, dangerous thrum, "are as follows: flee with me to eventual safety--"
"Or?" she presses.
"Or you will die."
Christine starts, shaking her head.
"Die?"
"You will die," he says, and something else filters into his voice now, something fleeting and faint. If she weren't so furious, so disoriented. she might have called it fear. "If you choose to remain here, you will die. A terrible death, I might add. And I would loathe to see that happen, as much as you may doubt my intentions--"
"You lied to me!" she cries. Her face is hot, her fists trembling. She cannot reconcile it--it's as if she's entered some poisoned, sickly nightmare. The room's decor is too ornate and lush; the fire in the hearth too warm; his tall, skeletal frame too severe, too ghoulish, too unreal. "You lied to me for--years, for years, and now you expect me to trust you? To leave, to go--to--no! No, I'm not going anywhere! You will take me back upstairs right now, and I'm sending for the police. Do you hear me? I'm sending for the police! How dare you, who do you think you are? You have no right to order me about. You can't--"
BANG!
She freezes. The many pictures and trinkets on the walls rattle. His every muscle has tensed, and he whips around towards the entrance.
BANG!
"We are leaving," he hisses, and before she can blink, his cold, thin fingers seize her wrist in a vice-like grip. "NOW."
"Don't touch me--!"
He leans down inches from her face, his teeth bared, something hideous and feral in his eyes. His breath beats a hot staccato on her face.
"They know we are here, you foolish girl, they have seen you with me!" he hisses. "They will spare you no mercy. They will torture you and maim you until you beg for death and even then, they will not grant it to you until your mind is rubble and you've not a scrap of your soul left and I will not see that happen so long as I am living. We are leaving. NOW."
"Wha--who?"
"NOW!" he roars, and she nearly swallows her tongue, feels her face blanch.
Another mighty BANG and the wall to the drawing room bursts open, followed by furious shouting. Men, she realizes belatedly as her mind fizzes into dullness and she allows him to pull her towards the wall--a hallway she'd never noticed is there, suddenly, black as night and smelling of must and earth and decay.
He stops for a moment, and turns back to her, their bags hefted over his shoulder.
"Run," he instructs.
BANG!
She finds her feet obey of their own accord, and the squeeze of his hand on her wrist is suddenly no longer a shackle, but a life raft.
Heart in her throat, eyes wide against the encroaching blackness of the tunnel, she follows him into the darkness.

Israel is holding more hostages than Hamas.
Israel holds thousands of Palestinians as de facto hostages. According to the Israel Prison Service, 3,661 of its 9,312 “security” inmates are held without charge or trial as “administrative detainees.”
What’s administrative detention? B’Tselem explains:
“In administrative detention, a person is held without trial without having committed an offense, on the grounds that he or she plans to break the law in the future. As this measure is supposed to be preventive, it has no time limit. The person is detained without legal proceedings, by order of the regional military commander, based on classified evidence that is not revealed to them. This leaves the detainees helpless – facing unknown allegations with no way to disprove them, not knowing when they will be released, and without being charged, tried or convicted.”
"Israel routinely uses administrative detention and has, over the years, placed thousands of Palestinians behind bars for periods ranging from several months to several years, without charging them, without telling them what they are accused of, and without disclosing the alleged evidence to them or to their lawyers.”
