ocs you say?

rn the two im rotating the most is a qpr (queerplatonic) couple named August and Poppy. where they're both like, narrative foils for eachother. August is a ghost who has too much world-building attached to explain why in detail but basically he had magic powers that were restricted by the government, then joined a paramilitary group with the aim of removing those restrictions after his brother got mugged in front of him and he couldnt do anything. he slowly realizes this was in fact a Bad idea, but refuses to ask for help and dies in the line of fire. to simplify his baggage, he thinks of himself as a burden, and removes himself from situations/relationships in order to 'rectify' that. Poppy also has powers (secret) where she can make spirits of the dead more tangible, as a side hobby? ig? she tries to offer last messages from the dead to their families, which she then tries to do with august. however they like get really attached to eachother and he ends up just, sticking around and they (platonically) fall in love. her baggage is she thinks shes a burden but she 'rectifies' that by giving herself away.
