sorry about yesterday qwq I had some problems of the technical variety.

anyways, I actually drew me for once haha. This is the new design for Via's species, which needs a new name and I would love some suggestions

I am quite happy with it and feel like this really represents me. I am currently working on a digital version, got about 4 hours into that rn and like 25 or something layers?? so yeah that may take a while

also the feathers may be redone when I digitalize this and in the digital version there will be the full tail and wings

I also may do a full reference sheet for her but we'll see

Doodle Day: Beedrill and Pallosand

gasp I'm alive

heya guys sorry for vanishing for 2 months life's just been lifing for me. I have been busy with school and also had some mental issues again qwq

I recently came out to my parents to been busy with that as well. And I decided to start pretty big projects as I came out of it cause I needed that. Got one of them complete, about 20 hours of work

so yeh, I got 3 drawings ready to upload including this one, expect the other 2 tomorrow and day after tomorrow with the big 20 hours one being later

anyways, about the drawing

drew this for doodle day in a discord server on the 7th of October just hadn't uploaded it yet. Pretty happy with these 2, especially the mega beedrill, the pallosand was pretty rushed tho

Bird Practice, Digital (1/2)

wanted to get this one done earlier but life just didn't allow it haha

anyways, still just getting the feel for bird bodies and how they work so this is really messy, hoping to improve this in the future

weirdly enough this took far longer than the traditional versions, taking about as much time as both traditional pages

once I get the second page of this done I will do some more close up pictures of bird silhouettes next, likely either the full page or half a page, we'll see

Ho-Oh drawing I did for doodle day in one of the discord servers I am in

on doodle day we choose 2 pokemon randomly and draw them, this week were Ho-oh and Darumaka

I unfortunately wasn't able to do Darumaka qwq

not too happy with this too be honest, I was looking at a pic of a heron as a reference. The wing just looks bad, it is way too big and the tail feathers don't look good either

Some practice art, I was bored

So I decided to draw and write some stuff about Woodii's Cycad or Encaphalartos woodii

and it looks like shit, plants are so freaking hard to draw, may retry this with digital later

Bird practice!

Practiced drawing some birdies, using crowned eagles for this set :3

I started off by doing silhouettes with a sketchpen then going over with a ballpoint pen to do the details. I was mainly doing this to understand how the wings bent and moved

Part of the motivation for doing this is that I am planning on making a WOF fanfic comic and I want to learn more about wings. This was more of a general getting into it and I plan on doing a more in depth study soon after a couple more pages of this

as you can see my brighter yellow sketch pen ran out of ink towards the end there so I resorted to using a more mustardy yellow lmao

Practice: Crowned Eagle

some more coloured pencil practice! this time my favorite bird, the Crowned Eagle I thing the front of the head and wing turned out great tho I wasn't able to get the same copper sorta colour for the not black feathers in the wings. They turned out too orangey The bust and back of the neck didn't turn out good tho qwq

Overall I am really happy with this one! Especially because it went through a really bad ugly phase

Primal Tides (commission for @git-it)

Another Commission for git-it (honestly thank you mate, your support of my art is beyond anything I could've expected, thank you so much)

This was a lot of fun to work on especially with that pose. I used a pic of an eel as a reference btw. The sail was the trickiest part of this and tbh I think I did pretty good! >w<

I am not too happy with the scales int h mid part of the body though, they are super messy and asymmetrical qwq and the small scales in the bicep area are not neatly done but they are super hard to erase and redo once done

Other than that I am really happy with this, especially the new lineart style :3

WOF File (1/50), Glory

I am gonna be starting a wof file, basically drawing 50 wof characters starting off with Glory!! (my fav)

I am definitely going to be doing Sundew, Willow, Qibli and Blue

other than that, please do give me recommendations on who I should draw :3

anyways, about the drawing

I took a lot of inspiration from the Japanese art for the characters (if you haven't seen it go right NOW, it is beautiful)

I have never done this pose before so that was a struggle (a big one) but I got over it eventually, I still have a lot of trouble doing scales on curved necks like this but I feel I am getting better at it now >w<

As for the trees in the background, I am not super happy but they are hard ok?!?!??!? qwq

but the flowers were so fun to do, I did a bunch of different ones and I enjoyed it so much :D
