while I ackowledge the moment forward, i still don’t trust ya’ll.  jk rowling has been known to be transphobic for quite a while now. for me, the issue will always be her lack of resolution in the books to address what severus went through as a child. it will always be tied to 99.9% of the fandom i encounter refusing to acknowledge these things either.  the same fandom refuses to acknowledge the almost impossible gap between a james who was willing to unstrip an unpopular classmate with magic for laughts of others and within 2 years garnering the love of somebody who had felt harassed by him for 5 years previous.  this isn’t news. this is a symptom of a larger problem that’s been going on for far too long.

ya’ll aren’t going to like what I have to say, but i feel somebody out there needs to hear it. 

when we spend our time complaining about people reblogging our posts, liking our posts, and softblocking people bc we’re uncomfortable for whatever reason, when we hold our fellow tumblr users accountable for what we don’t like about the platform instead of en masse complaining and going up to staff 

that is not addressing the issue at all. i understand WHY in this current age, WHY, it tends to not be done as should - why we don’t go up to our various overlords and hold them accountable. It’s a very intended facet of capitalism, it’s the same world that created the concept of private property just so corporations could thrive. 

but like, we gotta start with that energy SOMEWHERE. the random personal reblogging ur aesthetic photos is not a rude ass bitch, the tumblr staff and stock holders who refuse to change the notification system, listen to users to create a better notification system where you don’t have to scroll through them all just to find one you saw a few times back that you remembered you really wanted/needed to go back to for whatever reason

those are the real bitch asses and should be treated as such.
