it’s that time again, gang: i am unwell! i also start seeing a new therapist tomorrow so am like. pre-depressed about having to lay out everything that’s going on for a new person. at the rate my mood is cycling i’ll probably be fine again in a few days but i’m very much not fit for human interaction right now, so excuse me while i sort that out. look after yourselves 🧡

"And that is why you are a warrior - a hero." She smiled then, and though the shift in her expression was small there was absolutely no mistaking the pride in it. Sigyn had seen him grow into just that, over the many years they had known each other; even when she was feeling down about herself, she wouldn't miss the opportunity to praise her friend.

"But that's not me, Thor. I doubt it ever will be, frankly. And that's fine, I just..." She sighed, running a hand through her hair. She straightened her shoulders a little as she did so, as though shaking some sense back into herself. "I need to get out of my own head, I think."

Thor replied with a noise of consideration, nodding with a downturned smile. “You’re right. It is quite appealing to remain in what you’re comfortable with. The familiar. But how long can one truly remain there?”

“Me? I prefer the untraversed territories. The unknown. As scary as it is, it’s equally as exciting.”

"You weren't," The assurance comes quickly. "It's... A little different, for us, I think. But Loki being with you didn't mean he wasn't with me - not in the ways that really mattered."

"I knew I wouldn't get to keep him, from the very beginning I knew that." Sera took a breath. "But I didn't think I would be the reason he wasn't with someone else."

It's exactly what she'd do, if their roles were reversed: offer up a compassionate distraction. That realisation alone is enough to make her smile become much more certain, and she's hit with a wave of gratitude for the fact that he hasn't just left her to her own devices.

"You know, that sounds perfect." Sigyn takes his hand when he offers it, allowing him to pull her to stand. "Lead the way."

earl gazes at sigyn sympathetically, one eyebrow slightly raised in curiosity. he knows he's long since made up for the list item about her, but he does feel a need to take care of the people around him.

at her smile, he shakes his head. " well, " he starts, placing his hands firmly on his knees as he starts to stand. " to me, it sounds like you could use an ice cream cone and a drive down to the b'tanical gardens. "

when earl stands, he offers a hand to sigyn. " you in? "

"That's good! Where's the showing?" She asks them, taking a sip of her drink. "And how are your family doing?"

"I mean I've heard about a few things. Caught up with my brother and parents for a while. I did hear about this new showing I have to gear up for in a few weeks. Not sure if either of those things were what you were looking for."

"Well, between you and I, quiet was exactly the reason I came in here, too." Her smile stayed sincere, but turned almost a little conspiratorial too. "You're more than welcome to stay."

She nods, moving a little closer so that she can see the map more clearly as Chloe points out their intended destination. "Well-- I may be able to help, when it comes to getting there without being detected. If I can get us there, you'll take the lead on deactivating things, and I'll do whatever you need me to?"

"Good, and it's no problem at all." Chloe smiles in turn, seriousness of her expression not fading one bit. She lets the moment linger for a moment before she gets back to it. Distractions are never good for plans to succeed.

"Now, we have to move carefully. There are a lot of sensors around but luckily they aren't everywhere. I have a map somewhere...Ah." She produces one, unfolding it. "We need to get there." She points. "We'll have access to all systems from there and deactivate the lot of them. It's important we get there quickly with as few issues as possible."

I have loads of shit to do, and this guy wont leave my system alone so I need to scribble a little.

I wish they put him in a prison with giant window + Asgard view, I would love to draw that actually ~

"That much has been clear for at least two years." Sigyn replies, quick as anything, and while the words may be a little sharp, there is something unrelentingly soft in her eyes as she holds his gaze.

The suspicions which follow her are nigh on inescapable, now; the rumours the Asgardian court almost seems to delight in spreading are things that she hears, but chooses not to internalise. Not all that long ago, she would have jumped at the chance to return to Vanaheim the moment that she was no longer trapped here thanks to the Bifröst's destruction. But now, the idea simply makes her sigh, and shake her head.

"...Loki, you once knew me better than anyone. Surely, still, you know that I will not leave you. Not after I have spent two years believing I would never see you again."

He meets her eyes, determined not to show the weakness he feels. It seems too much to hope for that she can be an ally, and even if she is, what can she do against Asgard, against the Black Order? How can he let her be harmed by association?

"Then you do not belong here," he says, although his conviction to be cruel is flaccid, his tone lacking strength. "Best return to Vanaheim before Asgard decides your people are its next enemy. Frigga did little about my confinement."

And he did, at least, manage to make her smile a little. "Even if I say that it isn't anything you need to concern yourself with, that's not going to stop you from worrying, is it?"

“Such as?” Thor said, intentionally making it obvious that he was prying; leaned in toward Sigyn with big blue eyes fluttering foolishly, as if that would butter her up any more than him speaking to her normally would. Maybe he just wanted to get her to smile a bit. Lighten up. Feel comfortable about confiding in him. Or maybe he was just being a dork.
