How Azuka’s foxfire protects her in a fight / battle, against blunt force trauma or projectiles. First, how the foxfire actually works in her defence, almost reflexively; yes she can control it, but its largely its own thing. A result of the mix of two forms of magic that are otherwise alien to each other, and incompatible. It lives on and in her skin, connected directly to her nervous system and in the result of a fight. I’m going to use S/uperman here in this example, for an extreme measure to appropriately articulate and give scope to the reflex and scale of its ability to protect her. While in her 1st Powerlock. Because it’s not an end all shied wall. Hear me out. So say Kal and Azuka are standing off, right? Purely for science. Obviously the Kryptonian is fully capable of turning my fox into a smoothie - not that its Kal’s MO. So moving forward, if Kal delivers a kick - not a measured means of attack, just a KICK. A love-tap, if you will. Received by pretty much anyone, a love-tap from Kal can break bones, or land you in critical condition. 

In this instance however, while it would land Azuka firmly into a wall, or a few hundred feet down the road, her foxfire would isolate the force. In the seconds it would take to land the hit, her foxfire is already moving to address the threat and coalesce beneath the point of contact. It would surge forth from her pores in dark fire, moving as a single action to act as a buffer between her and the contact.  This would of course, leave her injured, but without broken bones. For the most part.  Conversely, were Kal to deliver a finishing blow, calibrated a step or three above his love-tap, her foxfire would still attempt to lessen the blow but the probability of casualty is near guaranteed. 

                              Now, were someone to shoot at her, and she isn’t actively using her foxfire, a bullet or two might land. Depends on how distracted she is, because while the foxfire moves fairly independent to her, they are connected through her nervous system. Her awareness only enhances the foxfire, it doesn’t hinge upon it. However, fully aware that someone is shooting at her, her foxfire can deflect the bullets.  But, maybe not in the way you might first think. It’s not burning the metal with extreme heat, that wouldn’t stop the velocity and splats of metal and explosive debris could still penetrate. Instead, it uses directional force to change the direction of the bullets without attempting to deadstop them with matching or exceeding force and velocity.

                        Their language was full of words like this; encompassing, subjective to context and over all fluidly contrary. Of course, being human also made them stupid; a flaw in mortality, and the insufficient time in which to properly learn, their life spans so poetically SHORT. The vixen sighed as she screwed on the cap to the jaw she was holding before setting it onto the hand-carved wooden table between them. 

Leaning forward to impress with both body language and patient resolve; Azuka placed her hands flat and steady upon the surface of the furniture, “The Tuatha de are not people, and affording them the courtesy of that doubt will not be returned, I assure you that while one might APPEAR thus, the truth could not be further.” A moment’s pause and her gaze shifted, index finger tapping the wood beneath her hand while she reflected inward for a solid beat. With a shrug the vixen stood straight to fold her arms under her breasts. 

                                 “They are not alien, wizard or cybernetic being and without this weapon.” She pushed a new article clipping across the table, depicting the grand opening of a local museum and its recently discovered artifacts. “They cannot be killed and death as you ken, does not apply. This sword is the only thing capable.” A half truth on two counts, the sword was one of a rare and legendary few, but now wasn’t the time for a history lesson.  The fact it had popped up here at all, an unassuming relic in the hands of unwitting collectors as Samhain drew near and the veil grew thin; was as much a miracle as it was an alarm. “If the sword is not reclaimed, and quickly... It will not be death of my design that will be of pressing concern or moral debate.” As an after thought, Azuka waved a hand almost placatingly to assuage any persistent confusion.
