Akane Gushiken 🎋

Something for my original comic; Akane is a young Kitsune with only two tail so far. She was adopted by an Oni, Koharu, when she became orphaned.

Kitsune lore from my comic; All kitsunes are female with white fur and red markings. The shades(hues) of white and red can vary. They are created, not born, from a kitsune biting off one of their own tails which becomes their offspring. Xander (shown in the third drawing) is the exception, he’s a lycan/kitsune hybrid and was born, he’s also possibly the very first dark furred and male kitsune.

I like how basically almost all places in kotlc is so sparkly and shimmery. kotlc doesn't stray away from all that simply because it's ‘lil kid stuff’ like YES GIVE ME THE SPARKLES AND SHIMMER, YES THE MCS SCHOOL IS A GLOWY GLASS PYRAMID, YES MAKE THE TREES GLOW, WHO'S STOPPING YOU.

New Year's Eve Foxfires at the Changing Tree, Oji, 1857

Utagawa Hiroshige (1797–1858)

One of the most evocative Japanese woodblock prints of all time and a Hiroshige masterwork, this incredible image depicts the legend of foxes gathering around a tree near Oji Inari Shrine on New Year's Eve. There, they would change into clothes before paying a visit to the shrine, where they would receive directions for the coming year from the Shinto deity Inari. In Japanese folklore, foxes are considered magical creatures with special abilities, including shape-shifting, and were often mischievous pranksters. Here, the foxes meet at the base of the tree, breathing out magical foxfires, the red orange flames flickering around them. Dozens of foxes can be seen approaching in the distance, the fields dotted with orange flames beneath a sky filled with twinkling stars. A fantastic Hiroshige design, considered one of the best of the series, with fine bokashi shading in the night sky.

Biana made so much sense in the first book

Let’s say you were Biana in the first book.

Before the events of KOTLC:

Your brother and your dad are always disappearing and leaving you out. You find yourself picking out flaws that your brother never had a problem with. “Am I always going to be the bronze to his gold?” Naturally, you start to turn to your friends for entertainment, including your best friend and your brothers’ cute friend who skipped a grade. You quickly become the most popular girl in school, everybody at your feet. “Do they like you because of you, or your status?” One day, you invite some friends home. They seem really giggly, for whatever reason. The second your brother walks in, they all flock to him. “Did he really make it about him today?” Your mother and your two best friends are the only ones who understand. Your mother tells you to be nice, because he doesn’t have many friends. It’s ok, at least your brother’s back.

When Biana is first introduced:

A dress suddenly disappears in your closet. When you ask your mom what happened, she says they’ve picked up some girl your age. It’s why they were doing all those errands, and they took your dress instead of buying a new one. “Another kid for my parents to love more.” You finally can’t take it, and you and your mom get into an argument. She uses her powers to disappear. “Classic. Always running away from conflict.” You hear your father’s voice. Oh. That girl is here. The epitome of everything your parents love more. Secrets, leaving you out, and your brother. Whatever.

The Elwin scene:

Is the school nurse in your house today? In taking a closer look, he is. You go to investigate when you see a ‘moment’ shared between your brother and that girl. She’s scared of the doctor. Yeah, right. The worst thing in the doctor is the medicine. You have a fun little chat with your brother and then go back to your room. It’s ok. You can always ignore her. It will be hard, but not impossible.

when is an elf ever going apply elementalism to their everyday life? (except for sophie because didn't she bottle a star or something.) also i swear agriculture was just a class made to please the gnomes and act like the prodigies actually gaf about their plantliness because under what circumstance is an elf going to have to grow their own food from scratch 😭 theres this instead of math like what

omg since there are schools other than foxfire you know what would be cool? a private school or university that you can go to after foxfire that teaches about humans. some of the normal classes and also about human science, beliefs, relation, government, geography, etc just for the elves who are interested. also i wish you'd have to have a special education to become a councillor because then this would actually apply

ok so you know how stina is canonically tall but what if she was like just taller than everyone? She has to be absolutely JACKED from the unicorn work. Imagine this absolute GIANT walking into the room and everyone is just like: 👁️👄👁️
