…I think it was Twice who inadvertently got Shigaraki Tomura to take off the hand-mask, to start showing his face to the League. 

The whole League knows about Twice’s limitations, about his need to wear his mask and stay whole. Twice got his mask because he joined the League. Toga gave him a handkerchief to cover up. Shigaraki pulled off Twice’s mask to get him to stop his rant and have the League listen to Shigaraki’s plan. They all know. 

So Shigaraki must have known how big it was a deal for Twice to take off his mask, even for a second. Just to talk to him, face to face, to show his feelings and sincerity. 

Right after, Toga steps up to tell Shigaraki her feelings, and how she’s not too happy either. She doesn’t understand Shigaraki’s plan, she doesn’t get why Shigaraki is making them do all these things without taking what they think into account. 

I think that was when Shigaraki realized he couldn’t just order his comrades around. They weren’t Noumu, they weren’t Kurogiri; he had to explain his reasoning, he had work with Toga and Twice and everyone else, alongside them, he had to do what they would do for him. I’ve recently pointed out that Shigaraki is really bad at communicating his plans to people, often forgetting to explain or even tell them the full plan. But here, he’s trying. 

So he takes off ‘Father’. 

Judging by Toga’s expression, pure shock and… discomfort? it’s the first time she’s seen Shigaraki’s face, it’s the first time he’s taken off the hand and talked to them like so. Twice took off his mask, Toga spilled out her feelings; so Shigaraki responds in kind. 

I’ve seen comments and reactions that this is Shigaraki learning to be more like All For One, he’s up-ing his charisma level. That the face reveal is a careful plot to manipulate his team. I thought so too! I wondered what this could mean. Could still be manipulation! Knowingly changing the behavior of people through indirect methods, whether for good or bad, is manipulation. 

But now I think Shigaraki was trying to be sincere here. Honestly trying to relate to his team. Because right afterwards, when he’s with the League during downtime, he doesn’t have ‘Father’ on. 

Here, right after the Overhaul business. And even during the Overhaul business, during the highway ambush. Sure, he takes off the hand to gloat, but Mr. Compress is also there, who also takes off his mask. They’ve all seen each other clearly now. 

By month’s end, the start of My Villain Academia, Shigaraki’s showing his face more often than not - it’s only during battle he has the hand on. A clear boundary of ingroup and outgroup, and the League is the group that he’s let in. 

…All because of Twice.

so some stuff got me thinking and the grand conclusion I’ve come to is that 

Midoriya Hisashi works for the Iidas as a mercenary. 

which is fucking superb for the Demise!au by @gothiclolitafanarts as I can imagine some situations as such:

-Trash bandit is weirdly protective of the Iidas as he has been trained to be a more or less guard dog for them meaning that we get this

Some villain monologuing and having no idea he’s about to get narked by a sheep: “a HA and I will finally be the one to put an end to the Iida bloodline! and there is no one who can stop”

Bandit from behind him: 

-Izuku: “hey dad! I’d like you to meet my boyfriend, his name is Iida Teny- “

Hisashi: “holy shit that’s the boss mans boy”

Izuku:

Izuku: “the fucking what now”

Hisashi grabbing izuku by the shoulder: “son. you absolutely cannot fuck this up”

-Izuku: “hey dad Iida’s birthday is coming up and I want to bake a cake-”

Hisashi: “Alhambra sponge, with a ganache-covered hazelnut concoction infused with a rum and coffee syrup, filled with chocolate, and decorated with pieces of pistachio and baby blue marzipan flowers.”

Izuku right before getting shot by a tranquilliser dart:” but my dad’s a-”

Hisashi having materialised out of nowhere: “one more word on this and I’m spilling how you’re the ones that have been getting me to douse Endeavor with ice water every morning. “

Izuku casually mentions how someone in his school is pissing him off while over at the Iida’s

Headline the next day: 

LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT MYSTERIOUSLY VANISHED BUT THREE FULL COMPROMISING REPORTS ON THEIR UNLAWFUL BEHAVIOUR FOUND. ONLY EVIDENCE IS RESIDUE SHEEP HAIR AND SHOE SKID MARKS.

Both Iida and Izuku are completely unaware of the exact kind of activities both families get up to so:

Iida: “Izuku! I saw your father at the official dinner my family and I attended yesterday!”

Izuku; “the fundraiser for children in poverty where someone tried to fire extinguish Endeavour?”

Iida: “yes! It is so nice to see that our families have similar ideas about how to help the community-”

Hisashi and Iida’s father overhearing and knowing that Iida’s father had hired Hisashi to douse Endeavour among other things: 

Iida: “Welcome to my family's country cabin! I know its a little bit sparse but-”

Izuku realising that he has been here before when Hisashi showed him all of the safehouses he could go to: “wait-”

Izuku walking through the Iida mansion looking for a bathroom only to accidentally open a room full of weaponry where Hisashi is putting on gun holsters and reading a file with Endeavor's face on it: “wha-”

Hisashi shooting him with a tranq gun: “shit not again”

Izuku would totally make a realistic cake severed head and leave it in the fridge and then answer no questions about it because he’s saving the video of him making it with Kaminari for later

he would post a video of him eating the cake and then a month later after several videos with no explanation

it oozes red syrupit’s everywhere and on bandit

then finally his followers get the cake making video and everyone in the comments is just calling him such an asshole

Kaminari then convinces Izuku to do another one

after Izuku posts a video of Denki hooking himself up to a car battery to recharge a van

He hates piewdipie and in retaliation for the whole ‘sub to p’ thingy he starts his own which is smth along to line of ‘sub to me and for each sub i will throw an axe at a picture of piewdipie’

his merch consists entirely of t shirts with things he said while high on quil as well as the signature ‘god is a twink’

he started #bashingendeavour

he has three hour long vids where he is hogh off his balls on quill but theyre fully indepth and detailed analysis of why endavor sucks balls

his ‘high on quil’ analysis videos gain popularity due to absurdity and accuracy  which leads to theories on the internet that his quil combo gives him some higher state of mind third eye level of stuff

Yep! You heard me right. Demise server is a strange little land, full of strange little ideas, unfortunitely this one idea in particular wasn’t so little. So without further ado here’s all the shit we came up with in the server in regards to izuku as a youtuber within demise!au:

Izuku decided to do a wardrobe tour and like 4 things were bloodstained which he never addressed. The most popular comment was what happened, which of course he never answered.

Izuku does these new year (like all of the questions from last year) or milestone Q+A’s/AMA’s which are basically people just asking a bunch of the things he wouldn’t answer or address before. Idk what yet but Izuku is weirdly good at something and only showed it on camera once. (He’s casually known to be a good artist) Whatever he’s good at he did it once for a video and it’s in one of the most popular compilation videos of him. 15 minutes of Izuku being a cinnamon roll.
