Green Ritual
Brew a basil tea by steeping a handful of fresh leaves in hot water for ten minutes. Instead of drinking it, add it to your usual floor wash. Mix well, then mop your floors while picturing them covered in gold dust. Sprinkle the remaining solution outside your front and back doors, to attract money into your home.

(grow for luck)
Governed by the element of water, thyme is an uplifting herb thought to attract luck and prosperity. It was often woven into flower Garlands during May Day celebrations. The ancient Greeks used it as a bath infusion to promote courage, a practice that was popular amongst warriors facing battle. Mix the essential oil with a teaspoon of almond oil and massage into your wrists and pulse points to boost allure!
Green Ritual
On the night of a full moon, take a handful of dried thyme and sprinkle it in a circle on the ground outside. Walk around the circle in a clockwise direction three times. When you're done stand in the centre and gaze up at the moon. Ask the fairies to bless you with their powers, then make a wish. Remember to thank them for their help before you leave!
Mint
(grow for love)
When the pretty nymph minthe caught the eye of the Greek god Hades, his wife Persephone was not pleased and turned her into this herb. Sweet and refreshing, mint has a lovely scent and taste, which the Ancients adored. They burnt it during funerals and would also perfume their bodies with the sap. Governed by the planet Mercury, mint aids in communication, heals the sick and is used in love spells. Rub it into the middle of your forehead to boost psychic skills.
Green Ritual
Take a handful of fresh mint and grind the leaves in a pestle and mortar until it's mulchy. Rub this mixture into a pink candle, then light it. Think about the type of love you'd like to attract as the candle burns down.
Sage
(grow for peace)
Aromatic sage has a fresh invigorating scent, and is great in cooking, but it also has other uses. The native Americans love this herb and use it in smudge sticks to cleanse a space and drive out negative energy. The Aroma has a calming effect on the minds and can instantly left the spirits. Use after an arguement dispel harmful vibes, just burn the dried leaves and waft the smoke into all four corners of the room.

(grow for confidence)
Rosemary has a strong medicinal Aroma, which is perfectly suited to this herbs feisty energy. The plant loves a sunny spot and is associated with the sun and the planet Venus. In folklore, it's the witches herb, and it's thought that where it grows, you'll find a powerful woman. In medieval times, a pouch of rosemary was hidden beneath the bed to ensure a husband's faithfulness. Feeling foggy headed? Sniff a sprig of rosemary to clear your mind.
Green Ritual
Take a square of muslin and some cotton thread and place a couple of sprigs of fresh rosemary in the centre. Tie up the ends of the muslin to form a small parcel. Run a bath and pop the parcel in the flow of the water. As you soak, inhale the heady scent, close your eyes, and visualise yourself bathed in bright white light.
Parsley
(grow for protection)
A pretty addition to any meal, parsley makes a decorative garnish, but there's a reason we sprinkle it over our food and it's not just about the taste! in ancient times, the Romans would adorn their plates with parsley to prevent poisoning. They believed that this tasty herb had protective properties. A potent aphrodisiac, parsley is also thought to incite lust so if you want to pep things up in the bedroom, eat a handful daily by adding it to soups and salads.
Green Ritual
To a velvet pouch or charm bag, add a large pinch of dried parsley and a pinch of black pepper. Shake up the contents gently, then spit into the bag to inject your personal power. Keep the bag with you at all times as a talisman to keep you safe and ward off negative energy.
Did You Know?
Parsley was a popular remedy for bad breath in the days before toothpaste, our ancestors would chew on this green herb to try to keep their mouths fresh. There's no real science behind this, other than that the herb is thought to have a deodorizing affect, so its best to stick to your usual brand of toothpaste, especially if you've got a Valentine's day planned!
