Baby bird season is incoming and I’d like to remind everyone that birds do not have a significant sense of smell. Bird parents will not reject birdlets because you have handled them.

If you see smol birbs with few or no feathers on the ground, you can safely put them back into their nest, bird parents will still care for them.

If you see smol birbs with some or most feathers on the ground, please leave them there, as bird parents are probably nearby watching and feeding.

Liv (2014) - Akane Liv Album Review

Overall Album Review:

i really enjoyed this album for what it was, however, i think it could have provided more variety with its tracks. it feels as if it tried to provide variety but gave up halfway through. if you can get past that fact, however, i believe this album is a fantastic work of art! the quality of each track and the mixing of opposing genres is really something to appreciate, not even to mention the ever- gorgeous and impressive vocals Akane gives us. for a branching off into a solo career, this album was a great start and a smooth transition from her normal collaborative work with Liv Moon and i really look forward to her future work! i definitely recommend giving this album a listen!

Interlude

pros: title fits, good song choice?

cons: not original piece (cover)

Libertango

pros: good instrumental, good vocals, dynamic overall, good chords, title fits

cons: not the most engaging

E-motion

pros: good overlapping/blending/mixing, smooth vocals and orchestra, decent ending

cons: too repetitive, not engaging overall, not many vocals

Raindrop

pros: good vocals, engaging

cons: vocals too loud, generic (instrumental), not very dynamic

Close Your Eyes

pros: fantastic mixing, great vocals, good chords, dynamic, good blending of genres, engaging, unique

cons: sometimes gets too loud, basically nothing, this track is perfect

Nostalgia

pros: good/interesting/engaging vocals, soothing to listen to, good chords, title fits

cons: weird mixing, inconsistent instrumental?, too long, would have fit better as an interlude

Sunrise Over Sea

pros: good chords, dynamic

cons: generic instrumental, generic overall, not very engaging, repetitive, kicks too loud, too loud overall (too much going on/overwhelming noise)

NIGHTPARADE

pros: dynamic, engaging, good mixing, unique overall, good instrumental, good chords

cons: generic chorus, weird chorus mixing (volume?)

HIKARI

pros: fantastic chords, great transitions, great instrumental, good use of blending genres, good vocals, good mixing

cons: not engaging enough overall

BUTTERFLY

pros: good instrumental, good use of blending genres, dynamic

cons: overwhelming, jumpy/inconsistent pace, weird mixing, vocals were too loud, literally found myself asking when the song would end

Tsuki no Utau Yoru

pros: beautiful instrumental and vocals, dynamic, soothing to listen to, decent mixing, repetitive, somewhat engaging, unique take on original piece

cons: not original piece (cover), vocals not very dynamic (mixing wise)

Summer Shadow

pros: good mixing, good vocals, dynamic

cons: not very engaging, generic overall, also found myself asking when the song would end (boring)

Victorian Valentine cards

-Victorian Valentine cards, 1870-1880

Victorian Valentine cards were flat paper sheets, often printed with colored illustrations and embossed borders. The sheets, when folded and sealed with wax, could be mailed. On 10 January 1840, Great Britain introduced the Uniform Penny Post, meaning that Valentine cards could be mailed for just one penny. The mass produced Valentine card was born. Valentines were sent in such great numbers that postmen were given a special allowance for refreshments to help them through the extraordinary exertions of the two or three days leading up to February 14th. Rather than purchase a ready-made valentine, some Victorians assembled original valentines from materials purchased at a stationer’s shop: lace, bits of mirror, bows and ribbons, seashells and seeds, gold and silver foil appliqués, silk flowers, and clichéd printed mottoes like “Be Mine” and “Constant and True.”Victorian valentines commonly feature churches or church spires, signifying honorable intentions and fidelity.
