“Maybe it would be easier to be understanding if you maybe thought things through a little and stopped putting yourself in stupid situations.” His voice was getting louder with every word. “You’re making a problem out of nothing. Some people can handle more than a single damn cocktail.” He took in a deep breath and pressed his lips together. He was trying to hold in his frustration, but he wasn’t doing the best job at it. “What does it matter how much it is?” Andrew knew why it mattered but at this point he just didn’t care. “Oh and I’m sure liver damage kills much quicker than that little friend of yours when he gets his hand on a wand and decides that carving symbols into your skin isn’t enough to satisfy his sadistic urges.”
“You’re one to talk.” The blonde scoffed. “I wish you would get over this though, don’t you think if he was going to hurt me he would have done it by now? He has had plenty of opportunities, yet, all he has done is be there for me when I needed.” She gave a sigh as she shook her head at the male. “Right, okay, if it’s not that big of a deal, I’ll join you. Every time I see you drink or I see an empty bottle around or just smell drink on you I’ll drink too.” Violet didn’t know if it would work or if it would even annoy her brother but she was sure as hell going to try it even if it left her drunk everyday, after all she didn’t have the same tolerance to alcohol as her brother. “Of course it matters. Oh my gosh Andrew, I literally cannot believe you’re being this stupid.” She could feel herself getting angrier and more frustrated by the second. Violet could feel the bile in her mouth as her brother brought up the memories she’d tried so hard to forget, she tried to push them back along with the tears. Her arm felt as if it was burning but she knew it was all in her head. “You know you can be such a cruel bastard at times. You’re vile.” She shouted at him shoving him as if it would make her feel better.

slytherdanes:
“I can be understanding, Violet.” Perhaps not recently, when it came to his sister’s safety and the friends she chose to keep that jeopardised that safety, but he was capable of it in other situations. “Excessive?” Andrew scoffed. “That’s a bit of an exaggeration, don’t you think?” Andrew was not expecting an answer to that question, of course. “Look, just because I deal with things differently to you doesn’t mean it is wrong. My way doesn’t put me in danger, at least.” The way she seemed to be dealing with her traumatic experiences didn’t seem healthy to him. “But sure, pretend I’m the one acting irresponsibly. Pretend I’m the one putting myself on death’s door.”
“Just because you can be understanding doesn’t mean you are understanding. There’s a difference Andrew.” Violet replied abruptly. She rolled her eyes once again. “No, no Andrew, I don’t think it is. Do you actually release how much you drink? Please say you’re just oblivious and not in denial.” The blonde knew it was a rhetorical question but she couldn’t help herself. “Having the odd drink isn’t wrong, I have no issue with you drinking occasionally, but it’s not occasionally, is it?” She pointed out before scoffing at the male. “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me. Are you really that dense? Have you never heard of liver damage?”

“I think I would be a bit more understanding.” Andrew said, though it was most certainly not the truth. He would be worse. Still, he wasn’t going to admit that in this mood. “And with the choices you’re insisting on making recently, I don’t think you have a right to comment on mine.” Perhaps he was out of line, but he couldn’t stop. “So just drop it.”
The blonde rolled her eyes. “Of course you would be, because understanding is one of your well known traits.” She replied sarcastically. He was far from understanding when he found out about her friendship with the death eater, but, of course, he’d say that was different. “And can I just add I have been understanding, I’ve kept quiet for ages. It’s only when your drinking became more excessive that I started bringing it up.” She pointed out crossing her arms. “How did I not see this coming? I should have known you’d drag this back up.” Violet shook her head with a scowl on her face.

Andrew pressed his lips together and his gaze moved from Violet to look briefly at the ceiling. He couldn’t believe how big a deal she was making out of this. “Come on, Violet.” He shook his head and sighed. “Don’t you think you’re exaggerating?”
Violet glared at her brother, not backing down. She shook her head. “No, I’m not and I’m fed up of you acting like I’m the bad guy just for caring. If the roles were reversed you know you’d be the same if not worse.”

Andrew straightened up and crossed his arms over his chest. There was a mixture of both guilt and annoyance in his features. He didn’t like being the cause of his sister’s worry, but at the same time there wasn’t anything wrong and her insistence to bring it up constantly was not something he appreciated. “I don’t need it.” There was a harsh note to his voice now. “I’m an adult, I can do what I want, and I don’t need to be babied when I do.” He sighed. “Just drop it.”
The young witch could see her brother’s demeanour change right in front of her eyes. She bit down on her lip trying to control her own annoyance. Violet raised a brow surprised by the male’s words and tone. “Fine, if you want to be selfish and drink yourself to death you do that.” She snapped back shaking her head at the male.

“I don’t need looking after.” Andrew told his sister simply. It wasn’t her job to do that, and the fact that she felt she had to did not make him feel much better. “And you don’t have to be the one to do it. You’re my little sister, Violet. It’s not your job.” He took in a deep breath and averted his gaze. “It’s fine. Stop worrying.”
Violet could feel herself getting a little frustrated with her brother. She could just about understand where he was coming from but she felt like he was unable to see her point of view. “You do though because you’re not looking after yourself. You never do.” Her frustration could be heard in her voice as she spoke to the blond. “Well, if you don’t want me to do it you need to start doing it yourself.”

Andrew should have expected this conversation to come around sooner or later. He knew that since the attack, Violet had laid off of him about his drinking habits, but it had been well over a month since then and she wasn’t going to go easy on him forever. He couldn’t help the slight sigh that passed through his lips, and shortly after he pressed his lips together. Andrew’s gaze moved to the half-empty whiskey bottle on the dresser in the corner and swiftly back to meet Violet’s gaze, hoping she wouldn’t see it for he knew that wouldn’t help matters. He moved from the bed and over to his sister. “Vi, you don’t need to worry about me. I promise.” He placed a hand on her arm, just below her shoulder and squeezed lightly. “It’s just a little drink, no harm done.”
Violet would be lying if she said the sigh that fell from her brother’s lips didn’t make her feel bad but she knew they had to speak about this sooner or later. “I do though Drew because you don’t seem to. If I’m not worrying about you, who is? Because your too occupied looking after everyone else you forget about yourself.” She pointed out with a small frown. The blonde shook her head. “It’s not just a little though, is it?”

“I mean we could always watch a movie? Well.. If you have any.. Or a TV for that matter.” Isaac laughed, awkwardly scratching the back of his head. “Or we could go for a walk if my guard would allow it?” He shrugged.
“We have a few muggle movies, though I’m not sure that would be your thing.” She replied with a shrug. Death eaters hated muggles so why on earth would one want to watch muggle films -- though Isaac wasn’t really your typical death eater, was he? “I can speak you your guard, I mean you’re with an order member so he could probably go for a break of something.”

A smile crossed Isaac’s face and he cocked his head to the side. “What did you have in mind?”
Violet pursed her lips. “Hmm, I’m not sure. I didn’t think that far ahead.” She replied with a small laugh. “I don’t know, what sort of things do you enjoy? I mean, we could go for a few drinks or something. Sorry, I don’t usually go out much with friends.”

“There’s a new girl working in the cafe and I swear she tried to get away with putting milk in my cup before the tea. Who does that?”
“It’s how I’ve always made your tea.” Violet admitted with a chuckle.

slytherdanes:
Andrew had been lying down on his bed doing nothing especially entertaining when he heard his sister’s voice enter the room. He sat up, legs swirling so he was sat on the edge of the bed instead, and his brow lifted. “Yeah.” He nodded. He had just less than an hour until he had to go out for his next shift. “What’s up?” He asked, looking up at the other blonde.
She smiled at her brother apprehensively. “Nothing per se, it’s just -- don’t get mad -- but I’ve seen quite a few empty whiskey bottles in the garbage and you know how your drinking worries me. I’m not saying you can’t drink but don’t you think its starting to come a bit of a habit?”

Violet walked into the room her brother was currently occupying, pausing just in front of the door way. “Hey Drew, do you have like five minutes for a chat?”

A light sigh passed the young male’s lips as Violet left the room and he once again placed his head back into his hands, fingertips pressing into his temples as he tried to regain some form of clarity to his thoughts - yet there wasn’t much to be found. Isaac was scared, terrified in fact. He didn’t know what was happening to him, why it was happening or how to fix it. Everything about his entire situation was scary and confusing.. The former Ravenclaw let a deep sigh fall from his lips as he removed his head from his hands once again and allowed his gaze to slip over the room, landing on various photographs that littered the area, his lips tugging into a smile with every glance that landed on a photograph of the blonde female who he had begun to grow closer to. Her purity was something to be admired, her kind and genuine nature was something that Isaac wished he could have had, yet it was so suited to the person she was. Everything about Violet was just.. Genuine. He knew that he was able to trust her, even if he hadn’t quite gained her trust for himself just yet but.. He knew that part would take time. As soon as the blonde returned, Isaac turned to peer toward her with a gentle smile crossing his face. Taking the mug between both of his hands he offered her a wider smile. “Thank you.” He spoke before taking a sip of the warm liquid, humming in content as the taste fueled his senses. Biting down on his bottom lip, Isaac tried to think back to the night of the attack, yet all he could really remember were the snippets and mainly the scar that was likely still prominent on the ivory skin of the young blonde. “I know.. I just - all I really remember is..” He slowly, cautiously reached out to gently trace his fingertips over the sleeve that covered the scar, his eyes glazing over as he did. “I’m so sorry, Violet..” Isaac spoke softly, his voice cracking as he moved his gaze back to meet hers.
She gave him a smile in reply, “No problem, my dad used to tell me and Andrew that hot coco solves everything.” A sad smile made its way to her face as she thought of her parents. She missed them terribly, she was just grateful she still had Andrew. Violet swallowed the lump in her throat as the male touched her arm. She was just glad there was material there as she still hadn’t let anyone see it yet. She’d been too embarrassed -- too ashamed. The blonde shook her head, before clearing her throat which had suddenly gone croaky. She opened her mouth to say something but the words got stuck in her throat.

“They called her naive for believing in the good in people. But she was just a loving soul, who thought that even monsters needed someone, who truly believed, they were angels once and they can be it again. And yes, maybe that was naive, but this world needed people like her.”

It took him a moment to actually accept the hug and wrap his own arms around the young girl, though when he finally did he tightened his grip and buried his face in her neck as he let out a sob. “I don’t know how to help him. He’s my best friend and I don’t even know what to say to him.”
Her grip tightened on the male as she heard a sob fall from his lips, it was hard to see him like this. He’d always kept his emotions hidden so it was the first time she’d seem look so vulnerable. “I don’t think words would help anyway, you just need to be there for him - show him his not alone. Your support will be enough.”

isaacbehindbars:
Isaac felt his heart thud to the pit of his stomach as the blonde spoke, he trusted her word yet it still somehow made him more frustrated at himself for not being able to remember. Surely he must not have been such great friends with the brunette woman if he didn’t even remember her. The young Death Eater honestly felt as though he was losing his mind, he didn’t know what was happening to him or why it was happening - everything was a blur and he didn’t know how to solve it, he struggled to see clearly anymore. Nodding his head in response to Violet’s invitation to sit, the dark haired young man slumped down on the sofa and placed his head in his hands. “Hot chocolate would be great, thank you Violet..” He sighed softly as he removed his head from where it was placed so he could send the blonde a gentle, thankful smile. As she began to speak once again, Isaac listened intently, more willing to consider the possibility that there may be something deep in his mind that was wrong, that shouldn’t be the way it was. “I don’t remember hitting my head.” He protested immediately, but then shook his head as he thought about the statement. “But I guess that’s how concussion works.” A lighthearted laugh passed her lips before he slowly shook his head at himself. As the blonde questioned him once again, Isaac peered toward her, his eyebrows knitting together as his deep brown orbs softened under her gaze. “I- Yes.. I don’t really remember anything about.. That night- the night I-” He cut himself off, swallowing hard he then snapped his gaze away from Violet, unable to look at her, not even wanting to imagine what other things he could have done to her. “I only remember snippets, but everything else is fuzzy.” He explained, his voice laced with sadness.
The male just looked defeated and it upset Violet to know there was nothing she could do to make things better for him. She just hoped her friendship and support would be some kind of help for him. She gave him a smile before leaving the room briefly to make him a hot chocolate while also making herself a fresh one. She opened the cupboard above her head looking for the cream and mini marshmallows to put into the cup. Picking both drinks up, she made her way back into the living room and passed him his drink before taking a seat next to him. She nodded her head, giving the wizard a sad smile as he came to the realisation that he could have hit his head without even knowing. That probably didn’t help, in fact it could have made things worse because how would he ever know that answer. The blonde shook her head feeling guilty. She had a feeling she was making things worse rather than better. Violet met the male’s gaze, nodding meekly as Isaac spoke about the night he attacked her. She only wished she could say about not remembering the event - though she couldn’t hold that against him. “Maybe that’s for the best.”
