A curious blink. Oh, they understand now. Their gloved hand lands gently on Yanfei's hat before playfully shuffling it side to side. "Are you concerned that I would be harmed by the projectile, Ah Fei?" It is endearing that she thought that such 'attacks' would harm them.

The dragon's chuckle is a near low rumble. "I do not typically throw objects to others, but some people might!"

Absolutely hopeless.

"Probably not - I mean, do you throw things at people for inspection? I think this guy is trying to pull a fast one on you."

Golden eyes glisten with excitement at the inquiry. Anything about rocks or minerals excited the Geo dragon. A wide grin stretches across their face, accompanied by an enthusiastic nod. "If it's rocks you need help with, I can most certainly lend a hand!"

Azhada wasn’t human. It didn’t take a genius to add things together and it wasn’t something that she had ever cared to pry about. They were simply… them. Friend, occasionally a mentor. Still there were plenty of things Yanfei had yet to ask them while trying to retain some semblance of respect for their privacy. She had built a career of breaking down complex cases into simple facts and myths, but she couldn’t imagine they’d appreciate being treated like an unsolved mystery. However, the phrase ‘human guise’ had been bothering her for weeks on end.  She was vaguely familiar with beings having different forms but she couldn’t put an image to what Azh would look like. ‘Perhaps a large geovishap… with glasses’ had been her running theory until a more grotesque picture of rocks draped in flesh came to mind. That nightmare had been enough to make her blurt out such an invasive question on their next outing.  “What are you? I promise I’m not trying to be intrusive…”

Curiosity is oft a sign of intelligence. A desire to explore and learn the world around them. Since bygone days, the Geo Sovereign has always favored those who seek knowledge. Those who dwell within the arts and linger in the tomes of old were the dragon's favorite types. They enjoyed watching mortals grow and evolve; their drive to excel was admirable. They strived to do so much with such fleeting, little lives before they were snuffed.

The ancient being always found those creatures so endearing. So adorble.

As the fruit does not often stray far from the tree, Yanfei takes after Yanhuang in many ways. From the pool of memories Azhdaha has of the xiezhi, they recall his ever inquisitive and frank nature. The young halfling's eyes hold the same scrutinizing embers. And indeed, she has been staring at them for quite some time during their walk around Tianqiu Valley. The way her brows furrow whenever she has a question for them is a subtle tell for them to expect an inquiry soon enough.

A pleasant smile tugs at Azhdaha's lips as the words fall between them. What does she know about them? An adeptus who once knew her father. An ancient one who is Rex Lapis' friend. An 'illuminated beasts' of sort who had fought during the Archon War. The progenitor of geovishaps.

What does Yanfei know about the 'evil dragon' who slumbers in the valley? And the legends that surround that area. Would her view on them change if she knew of their past and rampage?

Azhdaha hums softly as they serendipitously come close to Nantianmen. "A dragon born of geo," they replied simply. "A creature far more ancient and larger than the mountains of Liyue. Though, now..." they pause, look to their gloved hand— fist curling, then unfurling.

"Now, I am but a distant pebble in the pond. Naught but an observer in how mankind will shape the world." Their time has come and gone. The age of dragons as they once were is no more and Azhdaha has come to terms with such notions long ago.

"I had a different human guise during the Archon War, but I cannot seem to recall it. This form is but a fragmented shard of my former self." Azhdaha looks to the massive tree in the middle of Nantianmen.

"Perhaps if you have time today, Ah Fei, shall I tell you a tale?" The geo dragon takes a seat on a rock amongst the glowing yellow flowers. "I promise you that it will prove far more entertaining and factual compared to those of that fraud Iron Tongue.
