Here lives (some) quotations from the novel Visions of Cody by Jack Kerouac.
Written in 1951-2 following the events of On The Road, Jack called the book “A 600 page character study of the hero of On The Road, ‘Dean Moriarty,’ (Neal Cassady) whose name now is ‘Cody Pomeray’…I wanted a vertical, metaphysical study of Cody’s character and it’s relationship to the general ‘America.’” Visions of Cody wasn’t published until 1972, three years after Jack Kerouac’s death. It was apparently an underground legend by then, and it sprawls maniacally through its length.
main is sevnsevn. If you’re into this, I’m going to start building side blogs for other books I’ve read as well.
“Dedicated to America, whatever that is" —Jack Kerouac Visions of Cody dedication
