The event will continue TONIGHT at 4:30 PST. While we have a list prepared of the order for the nightmares, we’ll adjust it as necessary depending on who’s online when. If there’s a certain time that would work well for your character’s nightmare, please message us and let us know so we can work with that. Thank you.

U: DAY 14 ; UTOPIA
Once you’ve all taken your seats, attendants clad in only white enter and place headsets on each of you, shielding your eyes. “These are virtual simulators,” Caitlin’s voice rings out, cold and clear. “You will be transported into each other’s minds, taking a trip into your fellow outlaster’s darkest fears. Only the outlaster whose nightmare it is can find the way out. Once one nightmare ends, the other begins.” She pauses, moving to push a button. “And the first one begins. . . Now.”
The darkness that the headset provides disappears, and you’re flooded with light before the world around you begins to take shape. It’s a crooked home, doors broken in by force, government officials of Arcadia surrounding a woman, guns raised. “Please, don’t! Don’t hurt my daughter!” There’s a girl crouching in the shadows, her face is familiar, yet you can’t quite place where you’ve seen it before. All of you can stand, can move, aren’t chained to chairs but free to walk around as if this is reality. But it’s a reality you can’t control, you’re just a spectator, an accessory to murder.

U: DAY 14 ; UTOPIA
After adjusting to the arctic wasteland you know find yourselves in, a stark change from the barren desert you’d grown accustomed to, you divide yourselves into two groups. You plan to search for shelter and supplies, maybe hunt down whatever animals lurk in the snow. Kill them before they can kill you.
This backfires. Before you can even begin to set your plan in motion, the shadows around you take shape, wolves cloaked in the darkness of the blizzard let themselves be known through their signature howl. It isn’t a signal for bloodlust, but a call for others to join them. And soon there are too many to fight, yellow eyes glowing in the darkness all around you, signifying danger. You do the only thing you know how to — you run. Flight takes over, and every muscle in your body obeys the instinct, sprinting through the snow towards salvation, praying to a God you don’t believe in for a miracle.
And he answers.
A miracle appears, a city rising out of the snow, a silver beacon of hope. Odium. It’s a city every Arcadian has heard stories of, but it’s more myth than reality. A community more advanced than Arcadia seems like a sacrilegious idea, but here it is, accepting the outlasters with open arms, opening its gates and allowing them entrance.
A tall woman leads you through the city, explaining the wonders of Odium’s technological advances to you and offering you the option to join their community, after passing a series of tests. All of you agree to try it, and the woman leads you into a dark room, with a chair for each outlaster, before explaining the process.

U: DAY 14 ; UTOPIA
Good day, Outlasters ! It’s been two weeks since the start of the Campaign and only desert has surrounded you. It’s time for a change of scenery. Here are the supplies still available and some things to know:
A bottle of radiation pills ( 30 days worth )
Canteen ( Empty )
Water & Food ( though what you’ve obtained from Cokaygne is running low )
Flashlight
An extra set of clothing
Your respective tools or weapons ( check main page )
Solar powered cellular devices ( for communication purposes between Outlasters; can only make texts to one another. )
You still have gasoline left from Cokaygne to run your cars on, but with endless stretches of scorched earth before you, you must choose between going North or South in search of fertile land with the possibility of sustaining life to replenish your food and water supplies.
You go NORTH, and after a few miles of travel encounter a crisp white world, an arctic tundra blanketed in snow with more falling from a dark sky.

Q: What is your character’s darkest fear?
What is the nightmare that haunts them? Who are the demons that hide in their veins waiting to attack? What caused the darkness that drips from the shoulders of even the brightest of them?
Send in an ask or submission to this blog with what your character’s worst nightmare is. These nightmares can be irrational fears, based on memories, or anything else you can think of. Be creative, and have fun with it!

Q: With endless stretches of desert before you and no water in sight, where do you go -- north or south?
North: An arctic wonderland, everything frozen, brittle, trees just dark silhouettes against a bleak grey sky. Temperatures dip below 0° Celcius, only a few animals choose to linger in this wasteland, all of them painted stark white to blend in with their surroundings. Clouds brew overhead, a dark omen foretelling harsh winds and sheets of snow. It’s the dead opposite of the desert you’re currently trapped in, a frozen tundra instead of a burning wasteland.
South: A humid rainforest, trees drenched in fog, dark clouds hanging over the are, promising endless sheets of rain. Temperatures remain high, no relief from the horrific heat of the desert, and humidity skyrockets, creating a dangerous combination. Animals lurk in the trees, hide in the bushes, and poison lingers in every brightly colored beetle and nameless plant. It’s continuation of the hell you’re currently trapped in, with humidity and vibrant life added in.

U; DAY 8: THE CITY OF DREAMS (II)
I hope you Outlasters had your fun because it’s time to meet with Dimitri. Roger rounds the group up and explains that in order to gain access to the top floor of the building, you need to go through a test on each floor. After the task is complete, you must drink another glass of the green liquid and go onto the next one. This is the only way Dimitri will meet with you.
The tasks range from something as simple as solving a puzzle to something a bit more...life threatening.
You make your way to the first level, a blank room with nothing but TV screens playing the same video of downstairs over and over again. One wall transforms into Roger’s face, a video of him relaying the message of their task.
“Hello, Outlasters.” He spits the word like venom. “Yes, we know who you are and we’re willing to bargain with you. But first, you must pass through a series of tests. The first one will be easy, I’m sure of it. It’s a riddle. You have five minutes to decipher it, drink a glass of our special blend and be on your way. Good luck.”
The screens all light up with the same riddle; taunting them.
What is greater than God, more evil than the devil, the poor have it, the rich need it, and if you eat it, you'll die?

U; DAY 8: THE CITY OF DREAMS
After searching through the bazaar in search of resources, you have found out a man named Dimitri has both water and gasoline. His “office” is set up at the heart of the city, an address that Donovan obtained from a street vendor.
Upon arriving to the building, the Outlasters are faced with a man outside surrounded by various women and a large man guarding the door. The man introduces himself as Roger and asks you what you’re in search for. He’s intrigued by your request but smiles and says he can set up a meeting with Dimitri for a trade. However, the only way to gain access to building to have the meeting is to drink a bright green liquid. Every person in the group must drink in order to have the meeting.
You all agree.
Each Outlaster receives a glass that the drink to the bottom and then enter the building. Surrounding them is people in various rooms and people dancing to a high tech song over a speaker. It looks like there are floors upon floors to this party.
It is then you realize the drink had something in it. Your vision goes blurry and time seems to move slow. The drug takes full effect and you lose a sense of what you’re even there for. The music seems louder and your senses seemed heightened.
Have a good trip, Outlasters.
