To start the blog off, I’d like to once again introduce you to the challange I have decided to understake and my reasoning for doing so. All of the content in the blog are my own personal opinions and experiences. So the challange is a 480km bike ride from London, United Kingdom to Paris, France. It’s a 4 day journey starting on the 2nd and ending in the centre of Paris on Saturday 5th of July. Originally, the idea came from a colleague of mine, Naomi Sullivan. Naomi and her brother are going to be joining me and we’ll be fundraising money for our respected charaties as a joint effort. I have yet to chose a specific charity, but I’m sure it will be one that provides and enables access to education to kids from disadvantages countries and backgrounds. I’m passionate about the topic as I work in the industry, but more importantly I’m a strong believer in enabeling all human kind with general knowledge and basic education so we can tap into the amazingness man kind has to offer. Over the next 2 months, I’m hoping to be blogging every 1 or 2 days. Photos and videos from my preperation as well as the trip itself will be published as soon as I take them. I hope you enjoy my journey with me. www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/lsbflondontoParis

I haven't posted in a while so and I've got some time today as it's a bank holiday in Prague. Victory Day in Europe!
Last sunday I followed the Vltava river south towards Karlstejn and ended up doing 43.71km in just under 2 hours. That included a stop for a quick snack and a heavy fall right before reaching home. To cut a long story short, the back wheel went into the tram track. I have now gone into a pretty strict routine. The plan is to cycle 3 times a week. 2 rides during the week which will focus on building strength and one long, endurance ride on the weekend day - the day that I dont have a football match on. I am posting statistics from the app on the facebook profile. Oh yes, Dad is getting much better. He has now been recovering from heart surgery for a week and the signs are quite positive. I am pretty sure he's going to undertake a 360 turn when it comes to his diet and lifestyle though.

3rd May 2014
I'm with my sister on the way to Stansted Airport! The family is in a bit of a trance state. Each of us have tough things to go through and accept but non of the issues are dealt with on our own! That's what family is for.
Partisan's football match couldn't come fast enough. It's straight to the pitch from the airport and nothing else takes my mind off things like football does.
I'm planning a trip to Karlstein and back on the Ferrari tomorrow.

I've downloaded an expensive app called 'Mapmyride' only to realise that most cyclists use 'Endomondo'. Anyway, both apps will hopefully keep you all abreast with the routes I'm taking when I practice as well as all the fun details (average speed, elevation and the music I listed to whilst sweating my schnizles off).

29th April 2014
A crazy day. My mum calls me late last night and tells me that my dad has been having small bursts of pain in his heart and that she has decided to call an ambulance.
To cut a long story short (I'm not sure I am happy to share all the details), He has just had a operation on his heart and is laying in Motol Hospital with a breathing tube all the way down his trachea to aid his breathing.
Additionally, I had a tooth implant the same afternoon and those of you who know me well and appriciate my love for the dental industry - it is needless to add anything else.
Still trying to absorbe everything.
The events leave me more determined than ever to do this.

28th April 2014
So yesterday I purchased all the gear I need for the trip. I ended up having to buy new biking shoes (I already had mountain biking shoes but now also have roachd bike shoes), shorts - that remind me of a Borat style onesey, and a red tshirt with water bottle holders at the back.
The shop I bought the stuff in is called BikeGallery. Highly reccomended for any biking enthusiasts in Prague.
I was due to go out on the bike, for the very first time this morning - but unfortunate and unforeseen family events have made me delay that special moment until after I come back from London.
Oh yes, I'm writing this whilst sitting in a super cramped Wizzair flight to London Luton. Work trip - you guessed it.
Naomi sent me an email about health insurance formalities with forms I must remember to complete and send back to the Macmillan head office.
One of the things I'm hoping to achieve on my trip to London is a commitment from the London School of Business & Finance's founder, Aaron Etingen, to donate a sizeable chunk of money towards the good cause.
I can't begin to imagine what he will ask me to do in return :)

The bike
18th March 2014
It's a bright sunny weekend in Prague and after several inquiries about borrowing a road bike to practice a good friend of mine came up trumps (thank you so much Endre!).
The bike is incredible. It's an old, bright red Canondale. My guess is that it's probably about 10 years old. When I came to visit Endre's house to pick it up, he said: "...dude, this is a classic. Think of it as an old Ferrari but with 2 wheels and an engine missing..."
I told him that I often get mistaken for an Italian and thus happy to be a substitute for the 4.5l twin turbo.
It fit into the back of my car perfectly once I folded up the back seats.
Off I drove. A happy bunny.
