The Government Security Service (GSS)

The Government Security Service (GSS) stands as the foremost openly known authority in internal security across the Federation. Functioning as both a Public Secret Police and Internal Intelligence Agency, the GSS operates under the Ministry of Defense (MoD), which also oversees the defensive military and the (CSS) which operates as a Civilian policing force.

The (GSS) plays a crucial role in controlling the enslaved Alien population under Federation rule. Its officers serve as the primary security and policing force on industrial and slave worlds, where the threat of revolt is constant. In order to maintain order the (GSS) deploys several specialized formations, below are two examples:

Wolf Squads are Paramilitary shock units composed of 8 Human troopers, 2 robotic soldiers, and 1 Wolf Leader. These squads are designed for rapid deployment and overwhelming force. They are often tragically and highly effective against their opponents, entire rebel strongholds have been cleared by just 2 Squads.

Wolf Cavalry aka “One-Eyed Dogs” are Motorized assault teams consisting of two-man crews mounted on heavy motorcycles. The driver (an officer) controls the vehicle while the passenger wields an SMG to engage targets at high speed. Cavalry Squads are made up of 3 Motorized Assault Teams and are often sent into conduct fast strikes on Rebel positions or even to disperse Protests.

On Human worlds, the (GSS) functions as a political police and federal intelligence network. Citizens are urged to report suspicious or anti-Human activity to the Civil Security Service (CSS), which often works directly with the (GSS). To most Human citizens, the (GSS) is viewed not as a threat, but as a protector of family, freedom, and Federation values. Crimes committed against Aliens are widely celebrated by the public as both necessary and righteous. Those few who dissent face exile, “reeducation,” or execution following extensive interrogation.

Propaganda portraying the (GSS) as guardians of Humanity is widespread, seen on both Human and slave worlds. The messaging reassures Humans of their safety while simultaneously reminding slaves of the futility of resistance. Below is an example of such a poster, the poster states the date of the (GSS)’s founding and the slogan often recited by Citizens and even slaves “Your Friends! Your Family! Your Freedom!”. Also featured is the Seal of the (GSS) in the center, the Seal is seen often on the uniforms of its Officers and on the Vehicles used by the Service.

Lore Dump for my Stories World

The main antagonist of my stories universe is the Democratic Human Federation (DHF).

The DHF is a strange kind of empire: liberal and even generous with its human civilians (offering broad social programs, arts funding, (rigged) elections and some other personal freedoms) but fascistic and dictatorial toward the alien species it has conquered and enslaved. At its core, the DHF is ruled by the Blackspire Family, owners of the megacorporation turned government that commands nearly all human society.

The Federation is a human-supremacist state, preaching that humanity is the “true” species destined to rule the universe. Centuries ago, an alien invasion scarred human memory, and even now the DHF wields that event as propaganda to justify endless expansion, conquest, and slavery. Loyalty is glorified, whether human or alien, citizens are constantly bombarded with propaganda posters, chants, and patriotic slogans.

At the top sits President Ludwig B. Blackspire, who has ruled for 167 years. More machine than man, Ludwig prolongs his life with organ cloning and cybernetic augmentation, boasting that his cloned organs prove his “Humanity” and “purity.” He vows to rule until an heir proves worthy or until the presidency is torn from his cold, mechanical grasp.

This is the Flag of the (DHF). To those beneath its boot and awake to the lies, it is a mark of tyranny. To the faithful, blinded by propaganda, it shines as a banner of hope, carried wherever Blackspire’s clawing grasp extends.

I suppose I should introduce the reason for this account. This is going to be a lore dump of sorts-where I explain and share the lore and world building from my stories I just cant seem to write. For any who care, I hope they enjoy.
