{ JASON MOMOA, CISMALE, HE/HIM } Have you seen VLASKAR BLOODBLADE around Aarwick lately? I wonder what a WARRIOR like them is doing today? I hear that they’re a HUMAN BERSERKER from THE BLOODBLADE CAMP and that they are the THIRTY EIGHT year old BANDIT CHIEF - that must be keeping them busy in these times. I’ve heard that they’re PERCEPTIVE & LOYAL, but can also turn STUBBORN & GRUMPY if you cross them. When I look at them, I think of A BLOODIED BATTLE AXE, A BITTER SMILE FOR A BETTER LIFE SACRIFICED, THE SIGHT OF ONE’S BREATH IN THE CHILL OF THE AIR though maybe that’s just me. { PEANUT, 24, HE/HIM, EST }
Hey hey hey it’s Peanut back at you with my second child (my child who is older than I am but still my child.)Without further ado, let me tell you a bit about this man.
- So Vlaskar was born in Kebasta, and both of his parents were a part of a bandit clan called the Bloodblade Tribe. The tribe was founded by Vlaskar’s father’s father (So Vlaskar’s grandfather) after he was banished from the Kebastan court. He began gathering misfits and outcasts and bringing them into his clan, and for years they wreaked havoc on travelers through the Kebastan deserts. Vlaskar’s father was raised in this tribe, and eventually took over as it’s leader shortly before Vlaskar was born.
- It was a couple years after Vlaskar was born that the Bloodblade tribe relocated to the Western Woods in Ultea, and built an encampment there, due to their numbers having grown too large for the cave they had previously been housed in. Due to it’s location near the Kebastan border, their new hideout was the perfect place for ambushes on traveling merchant carts.
- Now I don’t want to say that the Bloodblade Tribe was/is good, because they are bandits, but they are better than a lot of other rival tribes. Under Vlaskar’s father’s leadership, they only ever took what they needed to survive; never more. But, they were still bandits, and they still took things without paying for them, so *shrug*
- Vlaskar was raised in this bandit environment, and taught from an earlier age how to excel at it, but he didn’t have a desire to live that lifestyle. He used to accompany his mother on trips to Aarwick to sell goods that the tribe had stolen, and after he got a taste of what life in the city would be like, he couldn’t help but want that for himself.
- So, when Vlaskar was twenty seven, he asked his father for permission to leave the clan and pursue the life that he wanted. Although his father was very reluctant to let him leave, he eventually agreed, and Vlaskar left the encampment and travelled to Aarwick to begin a new life there. In Aarwick, Vlaskar was taken on as an apprentice to a blacksmith and began to learn the trade. Eventually, he was made the blacksmith’s assistant.
- During his time living in Aarwick, Vlaskar met Diana in the marketplace, and they struck up a friendship which eventually evolved to be something more than that. Vlaskar cared for Diana deeply, and truly believed that the reason he felt such a strong urge to leave his bandit life behind and come start a life in the city was because he was meant to meet her.
- Unfortunately though, the reality of being a bandit eventually caught up with him. Nearly ten years to the day after leaving his home in the forest to come live in Aarwick, Vlaskar received a deeply troubling letter from his mother, which shared the news of the death of Vlaskar’s father, as well as his younger brother. To make matters that much worse, in the void of leadership, a member of the tribe had declared himself the new Chief, and was demanding that members of the tribe be much more ruthless, and attack not just traveling merchants, but civilians on the road as well. Vlaskar’s mother pleaded that he return home and take his place as Chief, for she feared that the tribe would inevitably face destruction otherwise. Unwilling to abandon his family to this fate, Vlaskar left Aarwick and the life he had built for himself there, and returned to the encampment. He fought against the Tyrant Chief and defeated him, and took up the leadership that he had never wanted, but now had no choice but to accept for himself.
- Now, it’s been a year since Vlaskar returned to the encampment and became Chief. Under his leadership the tribe flourishes, but he himself is miserable. He has spent every day wishing that he could return to Aarwick, and to Diana; so when he heard news of the attacks in the forest, he decided it was time. Convincing the tribe that they must assist in fighting whatever is emerging from the woods, or else be destroyed by it, Vlaskar now returns to the city he once considered home, knowing that it can never be again.
Additional notes:
- Vlaskar’s weapon of choice is a pair of whips, with which he is extremely deadly. He’s also highly proficient at axe throwing.
- The Bloodblade Tribe has set up a camp just outside of Aarwick.
