The dining area is set out beautifully, with tables lined up along the open-aired room. We crowd around the fireplace to warm up while given an introduction to this magnificent island. So, if you are easily frustrated or don’t like to play things multiple times through, Trials Fusion may not be for you. There is no easy mode to switch to so you can get through a hard spot the only way to make it through is pure determination and multiple tries. Navigating levels still takes a delicate mix of speed and balance that can, and usually does, lead to some mind-bendingly difficult areas. While the graphics and the environments definitely add to the Trials experience, what really makes this franchise so popular is the gameplay, and that excellent balance of motocross and managing obstacles is back and better than ever. I don’t know if this was an intentional addition to the game, but it felt like a side effect from the design of the levels. Many times your approach to an obstacle will be obstructed by the sun shining directly into the camera. The only issue that I found during my playthrough is that the sun can play a serious role in some levels. Red Lynx hasn’t lost its touch for creating excellent environments that challenge players at every turn. Steep inclines, difficult landings, big jumps, and rocky areas are all present in Fusion and will cause you more than a little bit of frustration.
