Sometimes, Sollux could be rather awkward around alternates of the people he secretly enjoyed but outwardly hated. He knows that made no sense in his head, but he just goes with it because he ends up turning into a mushy pile of sobbing and stupidity. That's something he can't have.

Frankly, he wondered why he even bothered anymore; it was stupid to try and make friends. Friends only try and backstab you in the end, so it's pitiful to make lifelong ones. Sollux learned this the hard way - from watching his girlfriend make out with his arch rival of the city he... once lived in. He discarded that like a too many times used snot rag during allergy season for the humans.

He sighed and stormed out the door, nearly ripping off the door handle in his wake as he ran around this new city with his eyes closed, imagining the scene in his head.
