One of my dad’s deaf cats just yelled, and I do mean yelled (they don’t quite know their volume), for their food for a full fifteen minutes after my dad left because she doesn’t know that not hearing him means he’s gone

I was a full 16 minutes late to feed Poppy her dinner and when I got downstairs she was lying in the middle of the kitchen floor, paws crossed, looking up at me with expectant disapproval, like, “I’ve been waiting. You’re late. You’re also fired.”
