Can't believe I was just like "omg... what if cyan and queen are gonna parallel each other like lin ling and yang cheng are.... no that's dumb what if that's a reach" because 1) cyan from ep 8 preview definitely seems like she was forced into becoming a "hero" figure even though she also says she wants to be a normal person and 2) queen from her chapter unlock trailer seems like she was literally raised to become a hero and one day become X so Yeah the writers are gonna make their stories parallel each other. For sure.

nice and lin ling are turning into such an interesting study in contrasts, like, nice's believer-imposed thing was that he was "perfect" so he developed "just right" OCD because perfect guys aren't allowed to have flaws, whereas lin ling's believer-imposed thing is that he's "ordinary" so i have to wonder what neuroses he's going to develop because ordinary guys can't have anything unusual about them, since then they wouldn't be ordinary anymore

it's two different extremes of sanding off and cutting out any individual features to make someone fit into an unattainable ideal
