What does Lucifer think of Vocx?

He hates Vocx’s electric guts. Charlie really really looks up to Vocx and Vocx actually lives up to the hype. He’s decent! He’s creative! He encourages his daughter but still brings her to realistic goals! He is any girls ideal older male figure without any of the creep factor of Alastor!

Vocx is Lucifer’s nemesis.

Did Vocx and Charlie's commercial actually manage to bring in some sinners?

Probably some yeah!

But vocx only edited it he commercial, he didn’t put his name on it. Vocxs name behind something gives it a lot of weight at this point. Without Alastor as a counterbalance, Vocx’s reach grew exponentially, like way more than Alastor realizes at first.

What does Nifty and Husk thing of Vox?

During Alastor’s seven year vacation, Vox actually stepped in and took up employing Nifty as a housekeeper. He only knew alastor was back in town because one day Nofty stopped showing up to work.

Husk thinks Vox is weird and an airhead but a good enough person. He did appreciate that Vox kept an eye on all of Alastors more important contracts while Alastor was gone, even stepping in to defend a few in difficult situations.

Man, then Alastor must have been dodging bullets during the commercial episode if he's willing to make a pact with Angel to make Vox avoid the hotel. I mean, is it well known that Alastor is friends with Vox? At least people should know that they worked together since you mentioned that Alastor broadcasts Vox's radio plays.

Oh it wasn’t so serious at first. In fact Alastor did call in vox for the commercial! Vocx went and Angel tagged along because alastor was there Cherri was there. With vox there, the commercial goes way more professionally. Vox sits down to speak with Charlie and they get along — well. Dangerously well? Alarmingly well?

Charlie shines with someone like vox just there, listening and making suggestions and gently poking holes in her logic — (is this what an uncle would be like? An elder brother?) and Vox is genuinely interested in the whole process and idea because he loves new shit and he loves a good story.

And Alastor is right there watching the whole thing, with dread rising in his heart. He is being ignored. By both of them. Something is wrong with this situation. But he knows Vox and he understands Charlie and he can feel her question looming.

Charlie is absolutely going to ask Vox to try for redemption. And Vox could agree. He would agree just for the story of it.

Alastor doesn’t believe in this farce of a hotel, but if anyone could do it —

Vox rising up to heaven, out of Alastors grasp, where even the signal wouldn’t connect them anymore —

Alastor would be alone among the radio waves again.

Absolutely not.

The second the commercial is done, alastor hustles vox out before Charlie can get a word in edgewise, kicks vox to the curb, and explicitly forbids him from coming back. Rude and out of character.

But Alastor has plans to make, and for that he needs Angels help.

does vocx not LIKE cherri?

He doesn’t really think about Cherri at all, besides being angels friend. It’s more Cherri being used to very powerful men having invisible lines where disrespect becomes dangerous and she doesn’t know where the line is for vox.

Angle and Alastor make a pact to keep Vocx out of the hotel because they both feel he’s honestly far too good for hell and both of them are paranoid that Charlie would be able to, like, smell the goodness in him and convince him to try for redemption

In the Vocx universe the first resident of the hotel is obviously not going to be angel. Why would it be? Our boy is doing good, making bank, he’s got power and money in spades.

The first resident is Cherri.

Through a series of dominos being knocked down, Cherri ends up in a turf war way to fucking big for her (for now) and she needs somewhere to lay low (and recover) for a while.

(She could go to angel. She can always go to angel. But he’s got such a good thing going for him, and she doesn’t want to do anything to ruin that. No matter how much he gushes about vox, there’s gotta be a cut off point.

Being angels friend he occasionally spoils outrageously was different from being the angels cunt friend that only turned up for favors.)

So when Cherri hears about this Hazbin place run by Lucifer’s daughter and the Goddamn Radio Demon —

That’s a lot of power in one place.

Enough to make anyone hesitate.

Made the worst brownies ever created just now

Shadow Alastor is the closest we get to cursed cat Alastor. Imagine Vocx just petting him just to give him attention while trying to talk to Alastor while Alastor is now the one barely focusing.

Vocx, just minding his own business in his living room and writing down ideas for new shows and books when Alastor teleports in, already talking a mile a minute. This is normal. Alastor's shadow, before Alastor even has a chance to react, has clawed it's way out of the void, onto vocx's lap, knocked his notebook to the floor,and shoved its face into vocx's hands. it is clearly demanding pets.

this is not normal. (yet.)

both vocx and alastor are left utterly confused by this action. confused and viciously outraged on alastor's part. what the fuck was his shadow doing????? claiming vocx's attention like that, after the shit day Alastor's had?????? draging vocx's attention off alastor himself??? unforgivable????

but then vox, the king of rolling with it, just kinda shrugs and starts petting the shadow -- and the things is, alastor and his shadow are the same. so this means alastor can feel the echo of claws over his own ears, carefully scratching. (feels like sticking his hand into a pool of cool water without the getting wet part, vox notes).

static fills alastor's head, and he finds himself without words for the first time in his afterlife.

scritch scritch scritch.

alastor's shadow practically melts into vox's hands. when alastor finally comes back to himself, just standing there in the middle of vox's living room, with vox himself looking at him like he hadn't literally changed alastor's entire evening. his ears tingle. his scalp feels itchy. he wants --

alastor grabs his shadow in iron control and vanishes into the ether out of reflex. vox blinks once, mentally shrugs, and goes back to his work. alastor blowing through like a storm was normal.

Does Alastor's shadow act funny around Vox? Because it seems like it's a representation of his true emotions sometimes and kinda acts on its own at times.

absolutely! i love when people treat alastor's shadow like a representation of Alastor's inner feelings. when alastor and vocx are in the same room his shadow will often curl around vocx's legs, pull at his clothes, and knock stuff out of his hands in a bid to get vox to pay attention to it. it's very middle school boy with a crush tactics and it drives alastor nuts.

…do vocx and angel fuck? id imagine angel trying to seducing the guy in private, but then vocx putting a stop to it by catching angel’s hands and going “uhh thats not what i hired you lmao stop.” every time angel pulls that and angel acquiesces sure, but when vocx turns around he sighs, so hopelessly in love.

i think theyre neat.

they do! after about twenty years of increasingly blunt and exasperated flirting on Angel's part lol. Vocx makes sure that Angel knows it's not expected of him as part of his job, and after clearing that up he's go no complaints.

angel is, objectively, beautiful and Vocx is a fan of beautiful things. I picture Vocx as a sex-neutral ace, so he does enjoy sex sometimes but it's not personally necessary.
