Since I’ve come back from Europe, my life has been so unsettling. Less than sixteen hours of me being home, Daniel got the confirmation that he was being considered for a long-term project up in Seattle. My mind was in a frenzy - here I was soaking in everything I had missed about the Bay Area and all of a sudden I was going to be packing my bags again and moving at any moment. But nothing happened for awhile, and I didn’t know whether I should start applying for jobs or sit on my hands and wait.
Then he went up there for three weeks. I visited him, started applying for jobs in Seattle, started looking at apartments and researching neighborhoods, and now he’s back and there is no sign of if/when he will be returning to Seattle. I haven’t applied to any jobs in the Bay Area yet, and I’m not sure if I should or if I should continue to wait for Daniel to hear back.
And now I have an interview next Wednesday with a firm up in Seattle who offers very attractive relocation packages, but we don’t know if Daniel got the job in Seattle or not, and we may not know for a little while. I know it’s unrealistic to think that I may get the first job I interview for, but it is a possibility.
Life is moving so fast and so slow at the same time. Everything is a whirlwind and I don’t know which way is up right now. Is this how post-grad is supposed to feel?
