SCIAPHILLIA.

         HE CAN’T CALL IT RELIEF, but he can’t call it full blown anger either. He’s not happy when he sees that short stature, those pigtails, the piles upon piles of frills. He seethes, but also smiles, seeing an opportunity in encountering the woman he deeply and most sincerely despises.

There’s a very real chance that he’s at a disadvantage. He has next to nothing, and he doesn’t know if Rachel managed to retain more than he has. He has to find out somehow, whether it be from observation or interaction. But, he’s not patient, not now at least. He’s died before, seen his intricate schemes decimated and his rightful godhood stripped away. As far as he’s concerned, he’s hit rock bottom with nowhere left to fall. So why should he give a shit about caution?

There’s a couple of discarded beer bottles near where he’s watching from. He picks one up, and chucks it at her with as much force as he can muster. With how far away she is, he can’t be sure it’ll hit her, but even if it gets her attention, it’s a success.

             EVEN   before he can open that unsightly mouth of his, she senses his presence. It’s a presence Rachel Alucard knows all too well --- intricately, the sort of inherent ‘knowing’ that comes from countless timelines observed... And experienced, and banished, and altogether frowned upon. She’s thankful for the distance, as the sudden appearance has her stiffening in an abrupt way that she never would have shown outwardly before. Not only was he supposed to be long gone, but she hasn’t forgotten what one of the two sorry entities that inhabit that mangy body had done... The very thought invited the searing pain to return off memory alone, and so she banishes it. 

             Her thoughts are interrupted by a distinct whirring noise, glass whistling through the air. Most would see it as a childish means of attracting attention ( and it is ), but Rachel also remembers the unease she herself felt upon first entering this place --- not knowing where she stood compared to the powerful beings around her was easily the worst part. Was he testing her abilities... ?  At any rate, she lacks the sense of distorted time an Observer earned her --- she merely moves instinctively to the side; it turned out to not be needed, seeing as the bottle crashed against a wall a good ten feet to the right of where she’d been standing. It works in her favor, though... She could still only use her abilities sparingly.
