I think it’s damaging even in fiction to depict a character who acts in kink scenes but doesn’t practice safe kink etiquette. Like okay sure it might be “in character” that they don’t use safe words or set clear guidelines for their scenes but that’s super problematic and I literally don’t understand why you would want to depict a character who is just practicing bad kink etiquette ESPECIALLY if you’re trying to pass it off as just normal sexual experiences.

Forcing partners into scenes without warning or consent is a shitty thing to do and if your character gets made and manipulative when people try to establish rules and boundaries to their fetishes to make things safe that’s probably just you being shitty and manipulative not something you’re exploring in your character
