for my mistyfoot-in-the-fox-trap au.

mistyfoot does not tell anybody what happened that day, when hawkfrost intended for brambleclaw to kill her. who would help? she cannot forget how her clanmates turned on her, the sneering remarks about her heritage. she cannot forget that leopardstar appointed her deputy only to push tigerclan into the past. she cannot forget riverclan's compliance in the moons of hawkfrost's scheming and undermining and stirring trouble.

so she cannot tell. she can only hope to outlive leopardstar. she can only hope that, once she's leader, riverclan will be receptive to change.

years later, bramblestar's life is stolen by a vengeful ghost. good riddance, mistystar thinks, relieved to never sit beside him in the great oak again.

but squirrelflight is shattered, and mistystar respects squirrelflight. the daughter of her old friend, brave and loyal. moreover, mistystar sees herself and blackclaw in squirrelflight's own tumultuous relationship.

and... if she's being honest... mistystar understands her birth mother a little more, after watching squirrelflight's life fall apart and be put back together again.

so mistystar approaches the grieving cat to offer her condolences. but squirrelflight hasn't forgotten those arguments over hawkfrost, those nights spend burning with anger. she hasn't forgotten hawkfrost's mysterious death or the way brambleclaw avoided her gaze after. she hasn't forgotten what her mate has been hiding from her.

the question slips out. what happened?

Not to have warrior cats thoughts on main again but I wonder if it's considered gauche to name your kit in such a way that it's really clear you're gunning for a specific warrior name.

Like if Appleflower over in the nursery gives birth to a tortoiseshell with one white paw and names her Whitekit, does her leader give her a strong side-eye and think I see what you did there, I know you're trying to railroad me into fucking Whitefoot or Whitestep, and I swear to StarClan if I'm still leader by the time that thing has a ceremony, she's Whitecloud. I'll do it just to be a dick to you specifically, you can't fucking tell me what to do

After im done w college and my thesis i WILL be a hosting a big warrior cats map to mr blue sky set during the new prophecy focusing on the shifting political landscape of the clans during a mass crisis and i WILL probably be boarding / production designing for like 6 months beforehand and it WILL probably take years to get completed but gawddamn im so excited

Anyways if anyone steals this ill kill you (in a video game) thats half the reason im posting this im paranoid about someone making a similar map and me getting accused of STEALING!!! So i say NO SIR check the date on this bitch

i was thinking about the okami sequel and what they might do and the first thing that flashed into my head was this:

you were venting your woes aloud about whether you should spend the last of your budget to buy food or pads, and then a few minutes later, this random white wolf shows up and gives you an unopened pack of them. you take them and feel a surge of happiness and a small burden lift from your shoulders

and the next time you see the wolf it kind of looks more energetic, and if you squint it's like somebody dyed its fur. weird but who are you to look a gift wolf in its mouth, one less worry for you to deal with

I still think the most interesting thing about carmilla adaptations is the fact that laura spends the entire book moping over how alone she is and there are no girls her age for her to befriend and she's so isolated in her schloss with no one to talk to when not only are there servants literally keeping watch of her in her room every night but there is a village nearby enough for carmilla to get to with many girls her age to befriend. except they're poor. and if you want to keep the feelings of loneliness to the character you have to rip all of that out because the amount of people she ignores because they're not in her social class gets really obvious when you can literally see them. she becomes less sympathetic of a character when you realise her isolation is self imposed because her wealth stops her from seeing poor people as human enough to relate to.

kind of hilarious how quickly they softened up nathaniel. and i'm not complaining i enjoy him. they said we don't have time to let him be a complete asshole for too long, he's been here for three episodes, make him shit his pants. he's nicer now.
