Leiland laughed a bit at the squeeze. Always so strong yet so gentle at the same time. Styliani was serious and brave, but so sweet with them. "Man cars seem to catch on fire like every day for you guys. It's good that no one was injured though. And glad it was a good day. I.. can't even begin to imagine how bad the rough days are."

"But, I'm sure that normal day worked up an appetite. Fancy some leftover lunch pasta? It's got your name on it."

Admittedly, Leiland's enthusiasm brought a smile to Styliani's face. It was nice to have someone genuinely excited to have her back at home. She slid her arms around Leiland and squeezed gently. "It was pretty normal. Got called to the scene of an accident. Thankfully, no one was hurt but someone didn't secure their load while driving with a couch in transport. Cushion flew off, got caught under the car and ignited, catching the whole car on fire."

At least she always had an interesting story.

Elise was always so excited to see Astrid. Sure it was multiple times throughout the week but, hey! She had a very beautiful girlfriend, why not celebrate every time! She quickly embraced Astrid roughly, holding onto her with a smile. "I feel like a million bucks? What about you, sweet cheeks?"

As soon as she'd seen Elise, Astrid opened her arms and braced herself for impact. She grunted quietly but barely moved when Elise leapt into her arms, smiling widely. "Hey! How are you?"

Mei hadn't minded the candles at all. Her mom often lit them at night, thinking it to light a path for the positive spirits to bless her. She never did understand it but, it was a fond sight for her. Even if out of necessity, it was still inviting. She liked the way it lit up Branka's skin so delicately.

"I don't think so." She said surely, resting her head close to Branka. "Could do without the storm though. I'm just hoping a tree or something doesn't fall."

Honestly, the whole candlelit room idea had been born of necessity at first due to the power outage they were currently suffering from. And while Branka could easily use some light orbs, the candles just seemed easier and less energy consuming. Outside, it was still storming intensely, rain pounding against the windows as Branka settled in with Mei. "Hopefully they'll get the power back on soon." She sighed, slipping an arm around Mei's shoulders. "This isn't terrible though...is it?"

Brock had always loved picking her up. Even when they were kids, he loved to greet her with a hug where he spun her around a little. Which is exactly what he did! After he received his kiss, he set her down in front of him, holding her hands in his.

"Hello!" He said happily. "How are you doing? You look very beautiful!"

Aqua squeaked in surprise when she felt arms slip around her but she instantly knew who it was when she smelled that cologne- she'd bought it for Brock. She smiled warmly and wiggled in his arms a little so she could tap a kiss to his cheek. "Hi, babe!" she greeted cheerfully.

The second Styliani had gotten home, changed and started to settle after her shift, Leiland wasted absolutely no time jumping into their arms, making sure to add a kiss for good measure.

"Yep! It's nice to have you home, y'know because like, we live in a house but you're my home." They giggled to themself.

Landrew almost smiled a little bit. He could care less about the holiday, but seeing Lucen happy almost made him wish it wouldn't end.

"Well shit. The kids aren't gonna have anything by the time they find this place."

They had prepared some candy in case any children would show up. But on the other hand...they were currently eating all the chocolate! Lucen just really seemed to enjoy sweets!

At that, Lilith smiled. "You can get the recipe- but not today. You don't have to cook on your birthday. And you know I never write any of that stuff down, so I'd have to show you." She brushed her fingers into the looser red curls of her daughter's hair. "You can keep me company while I cook if you want though."

Dia poked her head into the kitchen. "Is Laney old yet?"

"She's old like you're old," Astrid retorted as she stepped up next to her sister. "Which is to say not at all but you're older than me." She laughed when Dia shoved her.

Delaney could help but chuckle. Every time she thought that a year of her life passing wasn't too important, she seemed to always be pulled in by her family, making her feel the exact opposite.
