Hello :) Could you write a fluffy Wadanohara x Fukami fic? Wadanohara can't sleep at night so she goes to cuddle with Fukami as it always soothes her.
Title: Just Enough
Summary: At this point, she didn’t even need to bother finishing her question. He already knew what she came for, anyhow.
…Just being able to hold Wadanohara so closely meant something to him, even if it might not to her.
A/N: Been a while since I had a chance to write something here! Ironically, it happened to be on my first day of this school semester as opposed to during the summer. I wrote it all in our library while completely sleep-deprived so it isn’t 100% fukawada but I hope this suits your taste anon!
By: Mod Sheep
…’Another one of these nights’, Fukami mulled to himself.
It had been one year since Samekichi vanished, returning the Blue Sea to its former state. Since the entire ordeal, Wadanohara had been beyond restless. She had tried to conceal it at first, behind fake smiles and laughter, but the sea witch could only uphold the act for so long.
Even the normally heartfelt glimmer in her eyes seemed to vanish.
The octopus had caught on right away, of course. He always managed to see through her white lies. Every last, “I’m okay” or “I’ll be fine” that slipped untruthfully from her lips. Fukami had long offered himself as an outlet for sadness should she need it.
A result of his devoted affection for her, of course.
He wasn’t nearly as charismatic as Memoca, nor sweet as Dolphi. It was the least he could do for his master.
Only recently did Fukami realize just how much Wadanohara needed that comfort. Aside from Samekichi’s disappearance, something much darker dug its claws into the gentle heart of his beloved sea witch.
He had asked her once, and she denied him that knowledge. Much as it killed him to know the cause, Fukami never asked again.
It wouldn’t do any good to pry into what the girl wasn’t willing to share.
While he had suspicions, Fukami would dare not bring up that traitor’s name again.
What mattered now was that whatever ate away at Wadanohara refused to stop. She became consistently plagued by nightmares. The poor girl would come to him late at night on the brink of tears.
Even in the darkness, Fukami could see fear in her grayed eyes, along with the way she would tremble and sweat.
Witnessing her so broken left Fukami to share her pain, but he could not let sorrow mar his features. She already had more than enough to worry about as is.
"Fukami," she would always begin with.
"Can I…?"
At this point, she didn’t even need to bother finishing her question. He already knew what she came for, anyhow.
"Sure."
Even though this had become the norm for them, the sea witch still wore a nervous smile. Times like these made Fukami wish he wasn’t so terse by nature.
Unsure of what to say for reassurance, the octopus spread his arms. She seemingly understood the invitation and approached him without a word.
Fukami waited for her to make the first move, not wanting to pull her in and alarm the already tense girl even further. Her shivering arms wrapped around his torso, holding Fukami close.
Comforting warmth spread over the two of them in mere moments.
He continued to stay absolutely still until Wadanohara buried her face into his chest, accepting the gesture as an ‘ok’.
Slowly, carefully did Fukami return the embrace. She had always been so small in comparison; so much that he feared she would break if his hands were not so cautious.
A modest blush struck his cheeks when Wadanohara sighed contentedly against him, cuddling even further into the fabric of his uniform. The night was cold, so it was only to be expected. He did not mind being a source of heat for her whenever needed.
The octopus would be anything she wanted, as long as it made her happy. She knew that, too: the sea witch had scolded him harshly for offering to make takoyaki out of a leg, once. But she was hungry, so what exactly was the problem…?
Still, it disappointed him that even now she remained oblivious to his affections. Not even once had she shown a trace of catching on…
Not even while they were like this.
She was certainly grateful for his loyalty, of course. That much made him happy. But he would have at least liked some form of acknowledgement, even if she did not return his love.
It had been long obvious to everyone that her heart belonged to Samekichi. Right now, she were probably pretending that it were that shark instead of him, cradling her trembling form.
That it was his hand petting her soft, brown hair.
In the past, Fukami would most likely have been enraged.
But now, Fukami saw it as something that did not need his meddling. Just being able to hold Wadanohara so closely meant something to him, even if it might not to her.
She would never have asked Memoca or Dolphi to do this for her. Wadanohara was in such a vulnerable state that he felt fortunate to be of use at all.
Nobody would have been able to relight that spark in her eyes, no matter how hard they’d try.
Only Samekichi could.
But he was nowhere to be found, and Wadanohara neared her breaking point. Silent as he was, Fukami could not stand by and watch his master crumble.
Even if she didn’t quite love him like she loved Samekichi, he realized that she loved him in her own way.
Even if all he could offer was a temporary respite, something to give her peace during restless and painful nights…
Then that was just enough.

Hey! What about red!sea sal x red!sea wadanohara? i haven't found a single fanfiction of them. thanks anyway!
Title: Mejai’s Heartstealer
Summary: And for every heart she takes she will gain an increase, a boost, in confidence. In ferocity. She grows dangerous by the minute. The tides are turning, and Sal can only bow before her. Despite her viciousness he likes this Wadanohara, he thinks.
A/N: Wow I’m the admin of this blog and this is my first fic. Wow. But yeah took this one from Mod Pulmo because I got some good ideas for it. Hopefully it meets your expectations! And yes the title is a reference to Mejai’s Soulstealer.
By: Mod Cherryblod
It only takes a single thump of a staff to bring him to his knees.
Sal is bowing before the witch. A few stray strands of hair block his view of Wadanohara, regardless he can see the beginnings of a cruel grin on her lips. Oh how he loved when she did that. The slight twitch, the faintest glow of her teeth as she smiled. It sent shivers up his spine.
"Saaaal. I’m hungry," Wadanohara complained, her ruby eyes looking down at the white shark. She waves her staff. "Bring me something to eat. Something tasty."
"Of course, my dear Wada," he rises from his place, dusting his pants. "Anything for you, my princess." With a curt nod, Sal is walking away.
It only takes a few minutes for him to return, in his hands a plate of carnivorous delicacies. With a slight hesitance he presents it to Wadanohara, a subtle tremble running through his arms at her sharp, criticizing gaze. He expects a raise of voice, a sharp tone ringing in his ear for something different.
"Feed me."
Sal blinked. Looking up at Wadanohara he takes moments to gather himself, surprised by the sudden demand yet relieved. Tentatively he walks closer, taking a single chunk of meat between his thumb and forefinger. Blood still trickles from the food.
Wadanohara opens her mouth wide, expectantly waiting for a flood of taste to land on her tongue. Sal grimaces as he leans forward, offering the food to the witch’s gaping jaws. Once close enough, her mouth snaps shut, taking the food and grazing the tips of Sal’s finger.
He recoils, furrowed brows directed at the girl, but he can’t stop his heart from pumping at the sight of her grin. All teeth, smothered blood on her lips, and eyes that held as much cruel intention as he did. Sal begins to smile, laughing.
He didn’t quite expect Wadanohara to become this, but he certainly has no qualms against it.

headcanons on bluesea!sal? {{other mods besides pulmo because i'm mod pulmo Quq cries}}
A lot of this comes from headcanons of Sal in the original canon before he joined the Sea of Death, so.
As one bonus comic implies, Sal is a nickname. His given name is actually Sameyoshi, of which the latter part is just an alternate reading of '吉' in Samekichi's name. This has lead to some trouble since their names are strikingly similar. But because his shark form is smaller than Samekichi's, roughly the size of a salmon shark, it lead to him taking up Sal in reference to that.
Like his brother, Sal also faces Tarako's inability to get his given name right. Common variations are Samekitsu, Sameyoga, Samegi and so forth. Another good reason for his nickname, but Tarako is fairly incorrigible.
Sal suffered from poor health as a child, with a fairly weak immune system. Luckily, he grew healthier with age, although he knows better than to push it.
For a time, he thought about becoming a witch's familiar. But with Wadanohara content with just one familiar, and the stories of the Witch World and its inhabitants to be alarming at the very least, he quickly abandoned this thought.
He works part-time at the local shop.

Ahh... hello. I'm the new mod here, Mod Dolphi. I'm really grateful to be a part of the group, and I hope that I can contribute very soon.
I write in a couple of different genres, tho it seems like humor is my main one. But I'm not at all opposed to writing angst or anything else, so feel free to challenge me.
Thank you very much!

Do you guys have any headcanons for Aom? (btw this blog is amazing okay A++++ quality for everyone and everything)
Thank you so much!
A bit difficult given Aom's minor character role, but this is what I've come up with!
Aom and Lobco grew up as childhood friends, and was actually the one who encouraged Lobco to go through with being Chlomaki's familiar. Lobco was still young and reliant on her parents, but Aom suggested that it would be exciting to go out on adventures with a witch. Because of this, Aom is secretly hoping she can become someone's familiar and live out stories of her own.
She was most likely inspired by the giant river prawn! Feel free to look it up and witness giant prawn arms.
Due to her reading habits, Aom happens to know little tidbits of trivia on various subjects. It started out as impressive, but now some of the other fish treat it as a sort of game much to Aom's dismay.
Very mature for her age, giving others the impression that Aom is older than she actually is. The only one who truly knows Aom's age is Lobco.
Despite regular exercise, Aom isn't quite as fit as one would expect. She ends up focusing primarily on her claws, leaving the rest of her body much weaker. But that doesn't make Aom a helpless bookworm by any means: she is more than capable of defending herself, if necessary!

Hello there, everybody. I'm the new mod: mod Fukami. I really appreciate the opportunity given to me by being accepted into this group, and I hope that I can start right away!
The things that I write vary, although I mostly write fluffy things. With that being said, though, I do really enjoy (probably more than I should) writing gore and all that good stuff.
So yeah! Feel free to ask me for pretty much anything. Even though I'm better at writing certain things over others, I'll still try my best to satisfy you.

what are you guys working at?

I myself have a nice laptop I use for everything!! It’s really fast and all my games work pretty well on it! If you’re talking about fics, we’re working on about… 18 drafts right now! we should have some posted by later this week!
I’ll let the other mod edit this post to answer your question, so check back every once in awhile!

Not too sure of what you’re asking for here, friend, but we’ve got more than 15 prompts sitting in our drafts. I’m currently trying to knock one of them out while working on some writing that isn’t related to the blog.
Plus, writer’s block can be a real kicker sometimes!

I have a couple things I’m working on at the moment, which includes some of the drafts that have been sitting around for a while. Trying to get past my writer’s block and write something that I’m not totally ashamed to post. Oops.
As for what I use, I do all my writing on my laptop using OpenOffice.

Like some of the few other mods, I also face writer’s block. I work on my fics one at a time, and I usually write them on my dreamwidth and keep them private. Currently trying to write redsea!wada x sal, but with writer’s block it seems bleehhhhhh~~

Bluesea!Sal x Wadanohara pls <3 ((Feel free to throw in Samekichi))
Title: What Could Have Been
Summary: “Isn't it great? We can practically see the entire Blue Sea from here!”
Her face was beaming with youthful vigor. The joy in her smile hadn't faltered one bit since they were young, which made Sal happy in turn. Although he did think it strange that her smiles seemed widest when it just the two of them.
A/N: Ack, I feel like I could've done a better job with this one, but I hope you like it! I'm also on summer vacation right now, so I definitely have more time to work on fics. We have a good number of requests sitting in the box right now, as well as plenty of drafts in the works, so please be patient with us!
By: Mod Sheep
“Alright, Sal… Deep breaths.”
The shark quietly inhaled, feeling the anxiety leave his chest with a sigh. His eyes focused on a nearby streetlamp, hoping he wasn't standing close enough for the light to reveal his presence. Earlier that same day, Wadanohara had suggested they spend more time together. He didn't need to think twice about saying yes, but he requested that they head out during the evening. It had been a while since they were last alone, since she had acquired several new familiars with the passing months.
The two had previously shared a room before the other three familiars decided to move in with them. Not long after, he had taken the opportunity to move out on his own. Sal feared that the others would suspect him of having… dastardly intentions, having a bed next to Wadanohara’s. She insisted that they would never think such things in the first place, but Sal knew better than that. The sea witch was too innocent to notice a certain octopus’s skeptical glares.
Sighing again, Sal ran a hand through his pure-white hair. He couldn't help but frown as he stared at his other hand. Everything about him seemed so… awfully pale. He couldn't take Wadanohara places on his back as often as he would have liked since he tired easily. Other fish often commented on his sickly complexion as well, but Wadanohara didn't seem to mind. Sal absolutely loathed his frailty and how much it limited what he could do each day.
He wanted to become stronger, primarily for her sake.
“You will, Sal. You’ll become as tough as those other sharks someday. You’ll keep Wadanohara safe…”
His palm clenched into a fist with determination. What good was muttering motivational talk to himself, anyway? It was admittedly a bit silly, when Sal took the time to listen to himself aloud. But it was all the shark could do to convince himself that he was improving, both in terms of skills and character.
With a small frown creasing his lips, Sal turned to face the house. All of the lights were out, and no sound left the windows aside from a seagull’s snores. Wadanohara didn't forget, did she? Sal was always regarded as a humble character in the Blue Sea: polite yet to the point. They often told him that there was a delightful chime in his voice when he spoke. He couldn't possibly be… unmemorable, right?
He nearly jumped out of his skin when the front door cracked open. A small face peeped out to greet him. The character in question held a finger over her lips as she stepped outside, careful to close the door behind her. She adjusted her sailor’s cap before gesturing for Sal to follow.
“Hey Sal,” Wadanohara whispered as they walked out onto the streets. She didn't want to risk waking anyone up, after all. “Any reason why you had us come out so late?”
Sal distractedly tugged at the collar of his gray turtleneck, face still flushed from Wadanohara’s abrupt exit. He didn't want to admit that she had startled him, so he put on a smile for her.
“Oh, you know why! ♪ Everything looks so much prettier just before sunrise. But if it is too late for you, we can always turn back. We wouldn't want dearest Wadanohara to lose out on proper rest!”
She smiled back.
Something about Wadanohara’s expressions always seemed to be so effortlessly sincere and kind to Sal. It would explain the feelings that had long blossomed in his chest since they first met.
“No, nothing’s wrong with that. And no need to worry about me so much, Sal! I may be a growing girl and all, but I’m fine. It’ll be nice to spend time together like we used to.”
She reached out her hand.
Bashfully, Sal offered his own. It was an innocent gesture on her part for certain, but to Sal it meant more. Wadanohara was easily frightened in her youth, back when he had first agreed to become her familiar. He offered what little comfort he could at the time in the form of hugs and holding hands, as well as offering kind words. It made them very good friends early on, and Sal was sure their relationship would only improve from here on.
Even if he should be used to it by now, the feel of having her soft hands gently grasp his own made the shark’s cheeks flush. Each time their fingers entwined, Sal’s heart would pound wildly in his chest. They would probably feel even better if had he not been wearing gloves. He could only barely hear her through the pounding of blood in his ears.
“So, um… where would you like to go, Sal?”
He blinked quickly, trying to break out of his trance. “Well, where would you like to go, Wadanohara? I wanted to do this for you, so whatever you like is fine by me. ♪”
“If you say so! Hmm…” Wadanohara mindfully held a finger to her chin, eyes focused on bubbles surfacing from a nearby crack in the cobblestone. Epiphany struck, and the sea witch’s eyes sparkled with childish delight.
“I know! How about we go to the Sea of Stars?”
…The Sea of Stars, huh?
Sal rose an eyebrow at her, resting the side of his hand to his lips in thought. Not a bad choice, of course… only to be expected from Wadanohara and her astounding sense of judgment. But it was a place that they had frequented often in the past, and there was most likely nothing new for her to see there. Given Wadanohara’s adventurous character, Sal expected her to choose otherwise.
“All right, then! Off we go! ♪”
The familiar knew better than to question his partner; she must have had some reason for wanting to head there, specifically. With a smile and a nod, the two strode deep into the night, following the luminescent shapes that littered the ground and sky. It was turning out to be a very nice walk thus far; the two of them were catching up the time that they had spent apart, even if it wasn't for very long. Their hands were still interlocked, lightly swaying with every step they took.
Luckily for Sal, Wadanohara didn't comment once on the timid grin that refused to leave his face.
Before he knew it, the two had reached their destination.
It was brighter and bluer than he ever recalled. The night sky fell through the surface of the water perfectly, giving the shower of comets and stars a curtain of contrasting darkness that further enhanced their glow. The starfish must have been well at rest, since none of them bothered to pester their onlookers. Each shooting star left a trail of white in its wake, streaking the sky like a paintbrush to its canvas.
Sal’s jaw dropped.
The sight had certainly been breathtaking the previous times he and Wadanohara came here alone, but something about tonight’s show was far more spectacular. His companion clearly had the same thoughts, holding her free palm up to her lips to conceal a gasp. Her grip around his palm tightened, initially startling Sal, but he found himself relaxing into her touch with a comfortable sigh. Before he could completely settle down, the shark was quickly put back on his feet.
“Whoa, look! Look Sal!”
Without warning, Wadanohara sprinted off to a nearby hill. To his misfortune, that meant Sal was to be dragged in tow. He had to struggle not to trip over his own feet given the pace that his partner was running at. She may look like a child, but she has the physical strength of an orca compared to him! Dimmed stars crunched beneath their steps, and Sal tried his best not to join them on the ground when Wadanohara finally pulled him to the top of the hill.
“Isn't it great? We can practically see the entire Blue Sea from here!”
Her face was beaming with youthful vigor. The joy in her smile hadn't faltered one bit since they were young, which made Sal happy in turn. Although he did think it strange that her smiles seemed widest when it just the two of them.
Him, alone with… her.
The shark was completely out of breath, but he tried not to make it so obvious. “Yeah… Yeah, it’s… beautiful.”
Just like you.
While Wadanohara went on and on about which stars in the sky were her favorite, her familiar’s deep, blue eyes widened in shock. It was in that moment that realization was beginning to dawn on Sal.
Wadanohara was the one who had asked him to spend the evening with her. Out of courtesy and an admittedly embarrassing desire to be near her, Sal agreed without a second thought, more than eagerly obliging despite the late hours. Even though they had gone to the Sea of Stars several times in the past, Wadanohara wanted to come here specifically.
The sights were without compare of course, especially during the evening. It was the perfect setting for one to say what was on their mind without hesitation.
Like an impassioned secret or… or a confession of any sort.
Sal’s breath hitched at the possibility, hand unintentionally clenching around Wadanohara’s. His cheeks were warm and pinked, only glowing brighter when his companion looked up at him with confusion. Something about the sweet innocence in her misty, gray pupils always drew him in. If only he were strong enough to defend her… to feel Wadanohara’s warmth in his embrace. By the Sea King did he love this girl; wanting to protect her with every—
“S-Sal…?”
Wadanohara held a hand over her lips to conceal a gasp. Her eyes were wide in astonishment; face far more flushed than his own. Had he said something uncalled for, or embarrassing?
Oh.
Oh, no.
He hadn't spoken his thoughts aloud, had he?!
“O-oh! U-u-um…”
It was Sal’s turn to blush crimson, mentally cursing himself for his sheepish stuttering. He had to think of some kind of cover-up, and fast—otherwise their partnership could be placed at risk. A droplet of sweat ran down Sal’s forehead and along the side of his face. His fingers anxiously clutched his side through the black blazer he wore. Sal took a deep breath, bracing himself for Wadanohara’s reaction if he couldn't come up with something soon.
“Wadanohara, I—“
His voiced paused with a crack when Wadanohara’s palms overlapped his own.
“Sal.”
Her heartfelt touch made Sal calm down, stiffness leaving his body when she pulled his hands close. Their bodies were still a friendly pace apart, but something about the way Wadanohara held his hands felt so… intimate. She gave him a smile while stroking the back of his palms with her thumbs.
“There’s no need to be so nervous, Sal. I…”
“I’ve actually felt the same way.”
His heart froze in his chest.
It wasn't a cold feeling, oddly enough. Sal hadn't thought it possible for one’s breathing to pause out of pure joy. But it was happening right now, and a strange, satisfying warmth flooded through his veins. Their eyes met, and Sal could see that Wadanohara was being sincere. She did care about him, and that was all he ever needed.
Before he could stop himself, Sal lifted a hand to cup Wadanohara’s cheek. The sea witch seemed initially startled, but she soon relaxed into his gloved palm. His lips parted with a short exhale. It was only now that Sal noticed how much the pale light of the stars made Wadanohara’s face glow. She looked absolutely radiant… almost like the moon itself. He lowered his head slowly to meet the face of his friend to break their height difference.
…No, she was much more than just a friend now.
As her familiar, a partner for life, Sal loved Wadanohara dearly. He had sworn to never leave her side, and protect her from all the evil in the world that threatened to harm her. And just now had she told him that she shared his feelings. With that knowledge, Sal believed that their bond could only improve from here.
It was a silent promise that the two were devoted to fulfill together—spoken not with words, but the mutual touch of their lips.
They parted quietly, both unsure of what could possibly be said next. Stars continued to litter the night sky, drifting slowly through the water behind them in white and blue glimmers. Sal absentmindedly lifted a hand to move a curl of brown hair from obstructing her sweet face. His breath was still caught in his throat, struck with disbelief at whether or not this was reality.
“Wadanohara… let me tell you how I truly feel for you.”
Deep breaths, Sal…
“Wadanohara. For the longest time, I’ve—“
...I've...
loved...
“Wadanohara?”
Huh?
W-What’s… going on?
A warm, familiar palm settled on her forehead. The touch felt gentle, and it didn’t take long for Wadanohara to realize who it was despite her groggy state. With a groan, Wadanohara cracked open her eyelids.
“Samekichi…?”
“Good, you’re awake. Are you all right? Feels like you might have a fever.”
He appeared relieved to see that she was doing well, sighing at the sound of his name ringing off her tongue. Her gaze was met by the shark’s lone eye, the other heavily blemished by a black scar. A scar inflicted by…
“S-Sal…”
Samekichi frowned.
“Sal? Did you have a nightmare about that creep, again?” The familiar muttered darkly under his breath.
“…Even after you’re out of the picture, you have to haunt Wadanohara in her dreams, too? Why were you always so damn persistent…?”
“A-ah, wait!” Wadanohara raised her palms almost defensively, although she wasn't sure why. “I did, but… I didn't, either. It was more like… a dream.” Samekichi looked skeptical, but he chose to remain silent when Wadanohara clutched the side of her head.
“He looked… different. Almost unrecognizable, even!”
“Then how could you be so sure it was him?”
Wadanohara hesitated. She felt like it would've done no good to bring up Sal again. Not after everything that had happened so many years ago. The words couldn't leave her mouth.
He had your eyes, Samekichi.

headcanons for sal and samekichi's relationship before/during war and how they met wada?
Samekichi and Sal were twins and were fairly close when they were younger.
Around what would be a human’s age of 4-5, the war occurred and them and their parents heavily supported Mikotsu
As time passed, Mikotsu grew more corrupted and as a result their parents died with an “accident”. Sal and Samekichi start growing distant.
Samekichi and Sal become prisoners of war. Samekichi is tortured under treason (despite being a supporter, their parents were to believe to have been spies), and earned the scars seen in official game/art. Sal didn’t resist and gave all the information to avoid getting hurt, but pinned the blame on Samekichi.
Wadanohara is born, Mikotsu is sealed away along with the red sea. Samekichi and Sal avoid this, but they remain heavy supporters and attempt to release her with Meikai now gone.
They both meet young Wadanohara in their teens, but at different times. Wadanohara mistook Sal as Samekichi when they first met.
Samekichi changes for the greater good meeting Wadanohara eventually falling in love with her, he tells Sal to stop trying and accept the blue sea. Sal refuses and flees. He was also enraged with jealousy as Wadanohara only remembers Samekichi and not him.
He returns in a form of a white dolphin. No one realizes this and he eventually gains the blue sea’s trust while witnessing Wadanohara and Samekichi’s relationship grow closer.

Could I request a sadfic in which Fukami tries to confess to Wadanohara?
You can also read it here!
Title: Spending All My Time {{Don’t let go at this point…}}
Summary: When he closed his eyes, all he could see was the image of her that smiled upon him. Nowadays, all he could hear was the sound of a sorrowful tune of her ocarina, her calming yet painful soul and heart of music whistling through the sea. He regrets not taking the chance before, he looks back at the time he could have done what he wanted to do.
A/N: I have to admit that writing this fanfic is a win-win situation. I finally get to write something a bit more depressing than I usually write and I get one of my challenge songs overwith! ♬(ノ゜∇゜)ノ♩ Tbqh, I wrote this differently than how I normally write, so apologies if it’s sorta all over the place, I’m still learning! Here’s the song for those that are curious. I wouldn’t recommend listening to it while you read though.
By: Mod Pulmo
"Fukami."
The octopus familiar perked up at the call of his name, shifting his gaze from the wooden plank flooring to the sea witch. The moon shone behind her, the stars sprinkled in the night sky, how her braids flow with the evening air. The sight was breathtaking. The sea witch slightly smiled at him -- faked -- but still a smile, "Dreaming again?"
Fukami just slightly nods at the sea witch, "Just something from long ago."
Her eyes spoke a thousand words, her hardships, her endurance, and importantly how much she missed him, yearned for him, dreamt of him. Her clothes changed from the bright uniform to a darker and less eye-catching of a sailor uniform. She was adorned with anchors and chains; a gift from Fukami, how he felt as a representation of Wadanohara. Yes... she is forever stuck, she cannot leave, she refuses to move, not until he comes back.
The boat they were on rocked gently, back and forth, back and forth. He feels calm and at peace, yet he feels restless...? He is scared that he will come back? When? Where? How?
Why?
Back and forth, back and forth. Would it truly be better if he came back? Would Wadanohara be restored to her former self? Will she smile again like she normally does? Fukami already knew the answer to the questions, he just refuses to believe it. He firmly refuses to believe the truth, the reality that she loves and cherishes him and that he feels the same. That...
"I don't want to see any of this."
Fukami can feel the heaviness in his eyes, his mind having blanks, the drowsiness settling in. What was he thinking of again? He tried to shake himself awake, but alas it's time he rests. "I... Wadanohara, I'll be drifting off again," Fukami murmured, "Please play your ocarina like you always do."
He could feel slight worry in her eyes as she gazed at him, he didn't need to look up at her to know. Wadanohara always worried, always, always, always. The sea witch breathed in and breathed out the whistles of ocean breeze, the songs of the sea, the greetings and reminders of death and sorrow. Fukami closed his eyes as he promptly headed inside the cabin. With every step, it grew heavier. With every breath, it grew unbearable. With every waking moment, he longed for her.
It didn't take long for him to change his clothes and collapse right on his bed. As if the blankets engulfed him into the comfort of darkness, Fukami could feel himself grow distant with reality. The sounds of Wadanohara's ocarina washed away along with his conscience.
Ahh... He really was tired of all of this.

Let's cut back through the threads of time. Rewind. Rewind. Rewind. Cut all the useless information, paste on the new.

Before Samekichi returned to Wadanohara, before the walls of the blue sea crumbled, before they returned to Deapsea Town, he had a chance; a chance to snatch little Wadanohara away from everything and into his arms. A chance for her smile to be at him, a chance for her songs to be poured to him, a chance for her thoughts to be filled of him.
It was back on their way home, when Dolphi and Memoca were in the rear of the boat, watching the blades of the boat's propellers cut into the ocean with Wadanohara's magic. When Fukami and Wadanohara were alone at the bow of the boat, a few hours before they met up with a certain shark. He recalled how clear the sky was, how bright the sun was, how slow time was. He remembered how he wanted these moments alone with Wadanohara to last forever.
Fukami slightly wished he took that chance. Oh how much he wished he could go back in time.
"Wadanohara."
A young sea witch cloaked in innocent pure white turns to him, "Yes Fukami?"
"I..."
Do it. Do it. Do it. Do it. Do it before it's too late.
"...Fukami?"
Say it. Say it. Say it.
Knock
Knock
"..."
"You coward."
"It seems like the weather is treating us well today on our way back home," Fukami noted.
Wadanohara smiled, nodding her head, "Yeah, it's good! Can't wait to see everyone again!"
The door stopped banging against his head. The door known as fate, chance, opportunity. There it went, the girl he loved and cherished so deeply slipped away like sand. When Samekichi appeared before them, his heart fell, he already knew the fate between those two. He could even see the red thread of fate bind them closely. When Samekichi hissed hatred at Wadanohara, Fukami felt hope arise, but when Wadanohara refused to back down, he felt a sense of jealously. How Samekichi weighed on her mind when he wasn't even around to watch her like any normal familiar would.
This is what familiars are suppose to feel, right? A shame that Fukami realized long ago that this was not the sense of familial love, but that love. He...
"I already know that she loved him since we've met."
It pained him when she broke down to tears when Samekichi abandoned her to fight off the red sea. It angered him when all Wadanohara spoke of was the shark's name.
But Fukami is Wadanohara's familiar. He can do nothing more, nothing less, other than to comfort her and be there for her in Samekichi's place. And all he could do was wait. He cannot utter a word of his feelings, he could only advise and guide Wadanohara.
He knew that he could never dream of Wadanohara in his arms, Wadanohara loving him the way she loved Samekichi, Wadanohara crying for him, of him, because of him. Because
that's not her.
That when he wakes up from the endless dreams of the playbacks of his memories that he could one day wake up to see Samekichi with Wadanohara in their secret place. Fukami could only guide Wadanohara, and it sickens him to know that Samekichi is the only one that could make her truly happy.
Fukami could only hope to see her smile. That her happiness was all that Fukami needed to keep going, that she would still need him as a familiar and friend.
Afterall, this is what familiars are suppose to do, right?

When are you going to notify people of whether or not they can be a mod? Or have you done that already?

Well, we have one new mod already, so it’s definitely happening!
We’re just taking mod selection a little slowly because we want to make sure that people who become mods get a little time beforehand to set up before we add someone else!

do you do reader inserts?

Yes we do! But that's only if one of our writers wants to take up the challenge as not all of us are comfortable with writing certain genres.
