where: anthonyâs who: @anthonyxgoldstein
ever since what happened at the bank, wade had been itching to find goldstein. something about the hours that passed in the vault didnât sit right with him. everyone else had been nervous and had every right to me but wade had been masked and not even gregory knew it was him. how did goldstein know? it had been wedged in his head for days following the bank and wade wanted to be the one asking the questions. he got anthonyâs place from someone at the ministry and found himself knocking on the manâs door.Â
when the door opened, wade looked conspicuously at the other man and took his hands out of his pockets. âgoldstein,â he said confidently and nodded behind anthony. âmind if i come in?â

No one was supposed to die. She shook her head at the words, someone always died and once again it was one of the closest people to her. The only family she had left lied in Hannah and Ernie, now just Hannah. âThereâs nothing you can do.â Susan admiteded honestly. Having been down the same path before she knew that time was the only cure for such a heartbreak. There was nothing anyone could do or say, thought they might try, that would make the situation any better or less painful. Her engagement ring felt heavy on her left hand as she used her thumb to twist it around. The only solution to their problems would be Wade leaving the redeemers completely, but she didnât dare suggest that. She couldnât handle the fight it might cause if she did. As well as tonight had opened her eyes to how easy it was for them to kill without need. If she lost Wade she wasnât sure sheâd be able to go on at all. So for now all she wanted now was for him to hold her as she cried and for her to find something as a distraction. Work was always good for a distraction because St Mungos was never a dull place.Â
As she walked closer to him her eyes widened at the blood soaked towel. Why did she always seem to find Wade covered in blood. A shiver went across her whole body as he place his and onto her cheek. Automatically she leaned her head into it closing her eyes in the comforting moment to breath for what felt like the first time all evening. âYouâre not apparating again are you crazy?â She said quickly hoping to knock any of his crazy ideas out of his mind. Her green eyes looked up at him. âYou didnât kill Ernie, Avery. That wasnât your fault you donât need to punish yourself.â Susan didnât blame Wade for his death there was something about the way they were now that she knew he didnât have any involvement. âI might have something stronger in my bag.â She kissed the palm on his hand before walking back towards the front door to search for the potion in her work bag. âHere try this.â Susan suggested handing the bottle over as she entered the room.Â
The last thing that Wade wanted was to have anyone he knew dying-even worse because of him. Wade had failed to realize that yet again, being involved, even by association with the Redeemers, something awful would always happen. It was meant to be a simple mission and knew that there would be some aggression with the goblins but it was expected. The moment everything spun out of control, he knew that something would happen. Being closed in with some friends of him had left him tense the entire night, thinking the minutes felt like long hours. When he woke up on the bank floor, surrounded by some bodies that he didnât know were alive or not, he knew he had to apparate before he was caught and doing so required the last bit of strength he had. It felt like he was facing the cold surface of the ground again and feeling weak when he saw Susan. Ernie had been important to him as he was important to Susan. Ernie had always been skeptic of Wade, but he didnât want to ruin his chances with Wade. He would have done all he could to not let that happen.Â
âIâm-I-I just want you to be okay,â he said finally, locking his eyes on Susan. They both had roughness from the battle at the bank and he wanted to reach out and help her. âI donât-I should be the one comforting you-you shouldnât be worry about me.â There was every reason to be hard on himself as he was guilty even if he wasnât the one that killed Ernie directly. He had been there before, after, and been involved for months and that was guilty enough. It was going to hang over his head no matter Susanâs dismissal. His eyes followed her movement and he sagged against the counter. âWhat is it?â he mumbled, taking the bottle from her. Wade wanted to lay down and ease the pain, but he knew that he wouldnât be able to sleep. âSusan...you donât need to help me.â

The events of the evening were so terrible they didnât seem real. Perhaps that was the only thing keeping Susan from breaking down completely. However learning more details about Ernieâs tragic death didnât help the already sick feeling in her stomach. Part of her wanted to know everything and find those responsible. The other didnât know if she could emotionally handle any more detail than seeing his lifeless body in Gregory Goyleâs arms. Susan especially didnât want to know Wadeâs involvement him being there at all was hard enough, but to even think he could of been involved. She shook her head trying to get that thought out of her head immediately. He wouldnât do that to her. Being apart of the New Order was supposed to help, to accomplish something good in the wizarding world. But it just seemed like people kept dying it didnât feel like there was an end to the constant trama.Â
Now with Kingsley gone she wasnât sure what they were going to do. âI-I canât do this anymore. We just wanted to help and good innocent p-people keep dying.â It was as if the words allowed the flood gates to reopen as her cheeks felt instantly wet again. Susan ran her arm over her face trying to wipe the blurry vision away. âErnie didnât even know anything!â He wasnât involved in the New Order like Hannah and herself were, theyâd kept him out of it all, kept him safe. Silence filled the room for a moment and it was almost comforting after the chaos. She let out a small sigh of relief that she hadnât been the one to cause Wadeâs injuries, but he shouldnât of been covered in blood at all. âLet me see.â Susan approached him slowly.
Wade couldnât help but feel like this was somehow his fault. He could have stopped. He could have done something when he was down in that vault. The best thing he did was let them out before it was too late. The way Anthony kept talking as if he knew more than Wade had ever told anyone, even Susan had stayed in his mind but it wasnât the time to think about it. He had never wanted Susan to be in harmâs way and yet when he saw her, everything he feared was right there in front of him. One, he knew that he needed to sever himself from the Redeemers or worse things would happen that he wouldnât be able to forgive himself for. Two, Susanâs life was more important than he could ever be and wanted to do everything he could to protect her. Feeling useless or the reason for that pain felt incredibly ill. Wade and Susan had just reached the point of accepting each other again, him proposing. They would have to talk about this eventually but instead, tonight had happened.Â
âI-I know-he wasnât supposed-no one was supposed to die,â he said, the words passing through him as if they werenât even coming from him. All he could do was shake his head dumbly at her. âIs there anything-I want to help-let me help. Is there anything I can do?â he asked desperately now, wanting to take any or all of her pain. Wade stilled and glanced down at the towel he was holding. It had happened during the battle and had already taken care of the one Angelina had inflicted. They were so close now and Wade wanted to reach out for her, his hand moving to her face as if trying to hold them together. There werenât any words and he leaned against the counter. âI tried using what we had. If I apparate again-Iâll be fine. Itâs fine-I deserve this.â

Ever since her accident in sixth year Susan hated apparating on her own, she always had the fear of injury. However after the events at gringotts followed by the evening a grimmauld place she just wanted to go home. She considered going to the hospital instead to try and help. In the morning sheâd no doubt throw herself into work as a distraction to the loss of one of her best friends, but for now she was in no state to work. Susan could barely keep her eyes open from exhaustion and they stung from the crying. Surprisingly she managed to concentrate enough to get herself home without getting splinched in the process. By the time sheâd reached the cottage door she just wanted to crumble in physical and emotional exhaustion.
With everything that had gone on after sheâd almost forgotten how sheâd left Wade. Stunned on the floor of the vault in Gringotts after Anthonyâs warning of who was under the Redeemer mask came too late. Anthony now knew what side Wade was on, sheâd add that to her list to take care of in the morning. She wrapped her arms around herself, tugging at the sleeves of her jumper, as she walked quietly through the cottage. Susan used the sleeve to wipe her eyes one last time before entering the kitchen. His question was only three jumbled words, but she knew what he wanted to ask. âWe took his body to his parents⌠I couldnât leave him there.â There was resentment in her voice. It seemed no matter what she did the people she loved kept dying. It was then she noticed the blood soaked kitchen towel pressed against his chest. Her heart sank into the pit of her stomach. âI didnât? - Did I?â She questioned her voice shaking with worry. Sheâd only stunned him right?
Following orders from the Redeemers were what he had been doing the last few months and it seemed like the only thing he knew. Susan Bones was a complete outlier and had caught Wade by surprise. Even then, he wasnât fully into the Redeemers as the rest of them might be, but his hands werenât completely innocent either. Since their transparency at her previous apartment, Wade had felt decomposed inside, wanting to change for Susan but knowing there would be risks in that. Wade also knew that the side she was fighting on also had risks and being with him was going to challenge them both. This was what Wade had feared would happen. Seeing Susan in the midst of a dangerous scene, one that already had a few deaths, made everything inside him go numb. He wanted to protect her but there was also protecting himself. He would die for her but pulling off his mask in front of everyone was not something he would question.Â
Wade replayed what he could in his mind from the entire long night. Flashes kept repeating in his hand as he washed some of the blood down the sink and gritted his teeth at the circling pain. Susanâs entrance only made him still, everything resurfacing like it had when he got back. Seeing her safe gave him some relief but there was so much devastation that being okay was not enough right now. âThatâs...good. Iâm so sorry,â he said, his words breaking and he shook his head. âI didnât know-It wasnât supposed to go that way. Iâm so sorry Susan.â It was all he could say and his head shook at her question. âNo...happened before that.â

where: bones cottage closed: @suscnâ
However long time seemed, it stretched even more. Wade stirred awake and in pain on the ground at the bank. He knew he had to apparate before authorities came and he did so, clenching his hand over where the wound was before apparating. It only made it worse but it was better to be at the cottage and safe than to be in the hands of somewhere that could escalate it more. Wade kept seeing flashes of faces, bodies, and Susanâs face in the midst of it all. He released a groan as he collapsed against the kitchen counter. Wade removed his hand from where it was covering the stab wound. This wasnât something he didnât see and he did see it almost everyday at the hospital but it was different. The pain was coursing through him and not just being observed by some healer. He groaned as he tugged his shirt over his head, ignoring the pain that followed. Fresh air hit his abdomen and he gasped as he threw open the nearest cupboard that held normal potions. He cursed as he realized the closest pain potion they had was not enough but it was all he had. After several moments of struggling with tasks that he was normally well equipped with, he took a damp towel and held it against him.Â
Wade barely had a chance to settle into the small comfort when the door swung open. It was late, he knew that. He knew that Susan had been gone and his worry was completely on her as he worked on himself. Now, staring at her, his eyes were wide with panic. This was the first time they had fought on opposite sides in person. They had always been fighting on opposite sides but this was different. âYouâre back,â he said indefinitely. His grip on the counter hardened even though he was feeling better. This was another tidal wave of pain that didnât have a potion to take. âSusan...you-is he...?â

âAnd you didnât even bring me as your date? Marriageâs changed you, man. Nah. Whoeverâs in charge is good enough. Unless you want to give one of my players a clean bill of health. Something about a shaky rotary cuff.â He snapped, sitting up in his seat as he pointed at Wade. âKatherine. Taking her out next Friday. You know what sheâs into? Besides following the rules? I can play student in detention if I need to.â Cormacâs attention was pulled away from his upcoming weekend at the flash of jewelry Wade was showing off. He let out a low whistle. âCome on. Show me it again. How many carats did she spring for? You deserve a real rock. And, listen, no one said she couldnât come with us. She deserves to get wasted too. Sheâs signed up to put up with you for eternity.â
âNot married, yet. Havenât set the date actually...but youâll be one of the first ones to know,â he assured with a grin. âThereâs no such thing as a clean bill of health. Even I have excessive bills and I work here. That what you in here for today? A rotary cuff? You going to let me see or continue shop talk?â Wade tapped his clipboard and rolled his eyes. âOh, fuck off,â he said, excusing Cormacâs sexual commentary about Wadeâs coworker. âAt least itâs not a fucking Avery heirloom. The only family money that I used went into her ring...itâs quite nice actually. Picked it out myself. Yeah, no, Iâm not inviting Susan. That seems like it needs to be its own night.â

Susan just nodded along to his words, remaining silent, as sheâd never truly believe him. Her track record of losing the people she loved was enough to have that constant doubt in the back of her mind. The side he had chosen and their reputation didnât do much to help that feeling either. Her eyebrows came together as he began his big speech part of her trying to listen to the words. Whilst also trying to work out why he seemed so nervous and fidgety.Â
His apologies always seemed overly dramatic as if he was completely unaware that she would forgive him every single time. âBut I do forgive you.â She said quietly under his own words before the confused expression came back onto her face. It was like he was proclaiming his love for her all over again. As he spoke the last three words her breath caught in her mouth and she forgot to breathe for a few seconds. â-Wait what, are you serious?â Susan asked he mouth hanging open completely convinced that he was kidding until she followed his gaze down to the ring in his hand. She stared at it as the shock washed through her before reaching up to wrap her arms around his neck. Her lips connecting to his. âYes of course I will.â
This was an unnerving moment for Wade as he knew he had a lot to make up for, even if Susan was reassuring him he didnât. There was a lot he could say, but instead his words fell short. The thoughts in his head about Susan were always finding himself and especially in the last week, his thoughts had been undone. He exchanged a glance with Susan, rubbing his neck as he stared at her green eyes.Â
In this scenario he had imagined Susan fighting against him or refusing his offer. He knew that their relationship wasnât traditional in comparison to other pureblood relationships. For one, Susan wasnât a pureblood which stuck out more than he thought needed to. It seemed to be something that everyone worried over. The second was that they were complete opposites but it worked. âIâve never been more serious,â he said, his lips quirking into a quick smile before glancing down at the ring. Before he could say anything else, his eyes drifted shut and he kissed her back, more passionately than he would normally. âI love you so much,â he whispered against her, smiling as the feeling he was experiencing seemed unreal. âI want you...and I want you forever if youâll have me.â

âDid he? Are you sure about that?â Cormac didnât put a lot of effort into his job. He didnât have to. Talking people into doing things was what he was good at. Well, except for the desk girls. But a retired player making a comeback was just what the team needed to reinvent themselves. âWhatâs the name of the redhead? Katherine? Katie?â He had been told but quickly had forgotten. He really needed to remember before next friday. âYour fiancĂŠe? You didnât.â Cormac pulled out his wand and shot a harmless bit of confetti into the air over Wadeâs head. âWhen are we celebrating?â Another friend off the market then. Soon Cormac would be the only one left.
âPretty sure. Went to the retirement party and everything,â Wade assured with a roll of his eyes. âThereâs a temporary person but Iâm sure actual interviews will be happening soon if you wanted to contact whoever the new director is.â Wade took a seat as this seemed to be a different and more relaxed appointment with a friend. âI...Iâm not too sure. Thereâs three of them at the front. Probably Katherine. That sounds right.â Wade flashed the ring from the pocket of his healing robes before pocketing again. âI did indeed,â he chuckled. âAnd she said yes. Can you believe that?â Wade tapped the quill against the clipboard before grinning up at Cormac. âAsk me again after Iâm done with this shift. Could be celebrating every day for all I care. Though Iâm not sure the Mrs would appreciate me coming around wasted each night. I do it for her though.â

It was the most complex position to be in the person she loved more than anything in the world was on this side she was supposed to hate. Susan understood why he left, they were so heated who knows what would of been said had he stayed and their arguments continued. But his promise to not leave again was reassuring knowing it was likely to get harder before it got better. âI get it.â She reassured him pushing her body off from leaning against the kitchen side and walking over towards him.
Her hand reached up cupping his face. âIâm scared too.â They were in the middle of a war and the last two wars had brought Susan so much loss she suspected this one would be no different. âBecause I just-I canât lose you.â Her words were pleading as her thumb stroked rhythmically down the side of his cheek. Â
Wade was aware of the complex situation they found themselves in. He wouldnât question Susanâs loyalty but she had every right to question his. Recently, he didnât even know where he belonged and wondered if the source of his change of heart was standing across from him. Wade barely raised his eyes off the floor to see Susan cross the room and when he felt her soft hand on his face, he repressed the temptation to move away. He did not deserve her comfort, her warmth, everything that made Susan Bones.Â
âHey, you arenât going to lose me, alright?â He said reassuringly, catching her hand and squeezing it. âIâm not going anywhere. My place is here.â Figuratively he meant with her always as well as in this cottage. Leaving again wasnât his intention and shouldnât have been in the first place. âI...I know you shouldnât forgive me. I donât deserve it. Youâre...so special to me. I didnât know that I could care about anything as much as I do about you. You caught me off guard and still do. I want to be the one to make you happy, to be there for you when you need me, and not be an idiot. I donât want to lose you either.â Wade paused and breathed out a shaking sigh, taking out the ring that was hidden in his pocket. âI donât think I could be on this earth if youâre not in my life.â He held the ring in his hands and glanced down nervously, âMarry me, Bones.â

Where: St. Mungoâs When: Day after the Blackwood Dinner Party
Since the events of the Christmas Dinner party last night, Callum had been locked away in his room, partly because heâd been with Georgina and partly because he hadnât been brave enough to come face to face with his dad. On waking up this morning, and seeing himself in the mirror, he realised he couldnât go into work with the bruises and cuts that had worsened over night. So, instead of following his usual route to the Ministry, he took a detour to St. Mungoâs, where he was quickly directed to a private room- the perks of being a respected member of the Ministry- where he sat waiting for a healer.Â
He was sat waiting for much longer than he thought, he was hoping that heâd have been able to pretend heâd been busy with errands to his Dad, but he knew now that it would be impossible to convince him of that, seen as he was so late.Â
Finally, the door opened, âThis is ridiculous, Iâve been waiting for-â Callum cut himself off, because stood before him was Wade. âAbsolutely not, I want another healer, and I want them now.âÂ
@wadeaveryâ
It was the holidays and of course there were a few related holiday incident. It barely affected Wadeâs schedule as the only plans he had was Christmas morning with Susan and going to see his brother at some point. It made his flexibility at the hospital better and he had made sure to be on the floor as much as he could. Lately, it had been a goal of his to show up and make up for the time he had been gone, especially if he wanted a promotion at some point. After the holiday party at Blackwoodâs, he had felt bruised and scrapped over in some places but it was no worse than Callum. He had been able to get away without much damage.Â
Wade opened the door ready to apologize to the patient stopped when he saw who the patient was. He closed the door and cursed under his breath, thinking that this was an irony or some metaphor he should be paying attention to.Â
âItâs the holidays, Blackwoods. We are already busy, it will be another hour or so before you get someone else,â Wade replied, rolling his yes. âWhat are you here for?â

Cormac put the magazine he was reading down, grinning with delight that Wade was the healer had run into and not some brainless slob who wouldnât help him. Heâd already been to the desk but doctor patient confidentiality was preventing him from finding out where the hell they were keeping his captain. âHealer Avery! Merlin bless the day.â He said, greeting Wade with a lot of forced enthusiasm. âYou know what room Birch is in? Your desk girls wonât tell me and I need to know if heâs out for the rest of the season.â Cormac raised a brow, giving Wade a once over. âSomething the matter with you? I thought this place sucked the life out of you.â
Almost once he walked in, he smiled at Cormac immediately. At least it wasnât a patient that would be giving him a hard time or make his job harder. âMcLaggen. Fancy seeing you here,â he said, dropping the clipboard to the side before acknowledging the other young man. âBirch-? He retired after the holidays. Why?â he asked interested, but rolled his eyes. âThe front girls could have told you that or were you too busy asking about something else?â Wade pulled a chair and sat down, crossing his legs. âBecause I actually like my job, thank you,â Wade corrected. âMy fiancĂŠ works here.â

She leaned her back against the kitchen side hoping it would help keep her upright now that her legs felt like jelly. Susan had gone to St Mungos everyday to see if he would turn up and everyday she was left with no answers. Only causing her to worry more. Wade saying he was at Goyles house didnât bring her much comfort, knowing exactly the hobbies he liked to participate in. By the way he was avoiding her eye contact she couldnât gage where the conversation was going and so her stomach flipped with anticipation.Â
Her heart seemed to regain its normal rhythm when he told her he loved her. It felt like she could finally breathe. âI love you too.â She said quietly while listening to the rest of his speech. âIâll always want you, but how do you expect me not to worry when youâre with them.âÂ
Leaving during an argument was something that his parents always did. He believed in not going to bed upset, but he had left this conversation for a week. It was unlike him and definitely not what Susan deserved. She deserved more and he knew that they were opposites but he ignored it in place of his love for her. There had never been someone like her who could put his whole chest on fire from thinking about her. He didnât want to be like his parents who hadnât set a good example for him nor his brother. Everyone in the pureblood society thought this was a phase and that he would catch feelings for someone else. Susan didnât fit the mold, but neither did Wade and he doubted he would.Â
âNo-youâre right. I know...itâs-itâs not the best situation,â he managed, thinking he couldnât explain the fear of leaving was the same as staying. âBut I want you. I want you today and tomorrow and every day. I donât want to leave again-I wonât. I promise I wonât. Itâs...it wasnât the best on my part. I should have stayed and I kicked myself every day for...I was scared-I am scared.â

floraxcarrowâ:
St. Mungoâs was not one of Floraâs favorite places. The almost oppressively antiseptic smell, the plethora of wixen each with a myriad of problems, the way time seems to run slower than a Streeler; no, Flora did not care for St. Mungoâs. But though she had few of them, Flora did care for her friends in her own way. So when she couldnât get in contact with Wade despite their normally regular conversations, she merely grimaced at the thought of St. Mungoâs before determinedly making her way to the hospital.Â
âFlora Carrow,â she said placidly, while staring pointedly at Wade. âOfficially, Iâm here for a migraine cure. Unofficially, you havenât been answering your floo.âÂ
There were a few things to catch up on but overall, he was happy to be back. While he worked, he kept his engagement band in his pocket as healing wasnât the most sanitized profession. When he entered the room, he was expecting it to be quick and something he could scratch off on the clipboard but instead, he saw Flora.Â
âYes, Miss Carrow. Pleasure to see you again,â he said, never have seen his friend in his work environment but was pleased to have a break. âWell, for a migraine you could use lavender or ginger. For the floo, the hospital goes through communications that I donât work for...and Iâve changed addresses on a personal note if youâre trying to reach me there.â

romanaveryâ:
Roman was panicked to say the least that Wade was in such a position with Goyle that he needed to borrow from his inheritance to pay back, in that moment Roman genuinely considered grabbing Wade and trapping him in the manor so he didnât rack up even more of a debt. So when Wade had cut that thought off right in the middle, Roman let out a sigh of relief âThank Salazar.â he said, running a hand through his hair. Then it registered what Wade had actually said. âWait- Marry Susan?â The muggleborn. Hm. Perhaps Roman should have seen this coming. He knew better than to question Wadeâs decision directly, and he wanted his brother to be happy, but him marrying Susan may complicate things. âCongratulations, I suppose.â he said.Â
Wade was smiling as he talked and his smile dropped when Roman seemed hesitant to the idea. He wasnât worried about marrying Susan for the targets he would add to his back. The love he had for her outweighed it all and he knew that was naive but it was how he felt. âYes, marry Susan. Did you really think I was dating her for the fun of it? Thereâs not a problem, is there?â he asked in disbelief. Susan wasnât a pureblood social elite person but that was probably why he did like her. There was a deep contrast and he appreciated her. âThanks, I suppose. Iâll make sure to owl the wedding invitations. If she says yes that is. She...we got into it. A fight. If I have to move out I guess I could...live at the old flat or here in my old room.â

After the fight sheâd thought about leaving too, but it didnât feel like Susan had anywhere that she could go. Not without airing their dirty laundry to all of her friends and without disclosing the details behind the argument it would of been impossible. So she stayed on her own going about her week like nothing had changed. Everyday sheâd go to work and check with the front desk to see if Wade had come in or if heâd even been seen. Worry grew in the pit of her stomach as days passed by without hearing anything.Â
She tried to keep as busy as possible, but on days like this one where she didnât have work it was harder. Susan stood in their kitchen waiting for the kettle to boil when she heard the familiar voice. It froze her in place and felt as if her heart had stopped for a second. Turning around she leaned back against the counter for support. âHeyâŚâ She repeated back a lot quieter. Part of her wanted to slap him and the other wanted to run into his embrace. âWhere have you been? Iâve been worried sick⌠I thought-âÂ
It had been a week, but it was more than he wanted. Even a few days without Susan made him feel heavy in the heart. He didnât know what he expected but as he stood wordlessly in the doorway he could feel his whole world caving in. The overwhelming feeling of nerves made his tongue feel heavy and he felt even less prepared than he thought. Of course he was there to apologize, but also swear his life to hers forever. It was a great feat and he was already feeling intimidated.Â
He stepped further into the room, his eyes on his shoes and not on Susan. The room felt strangely small all of a sudden and the ring in his pocket was pressing against his side. âI was um...with Gregory. Can I-I just wanted to...â he sighed when words seem to fail him. âI love you. I donât mean to ever...I know you donât approve of my life choices, but Iâm trying to be better and canât promise over night success. Iâm sorry I stormed out...I didnât know if you wanted me back or wanted to see me for the longest time.â

location: st. mungoâs status: open!
there was a different attitude in his step at work as he resumed, not being there for a week. he was happy to be back as it was his job but he also was excited about his future in a way he hadnât been before. the future included susan now and her saying yes to him cast a different light into his life. since she stepped in, she was indeed a light and had changed a lot about him. by being gone a week, there were a few things he had missed like certain patients and their needs. it took almost the first morning shift to get it all down but by afternoon, he was running through the patients and room like he had before with focus and patience.Â
when he reached another room after doing five already before in the same hour, he didnât look up from his clipboard and sheet. âname and reason for coming in today?â he asked, the words slipping from his mouth easily as if practiced.Â

location:Â obscurusâ books
status: open
It was as if no time at all had passed. He couldnât even be sure he had left the country. If not for the cold welcome he had received at his flat, he would say no one had even noticed he had been gone. That would have been preferable to being on the end of one of Dracoâs poor moods. Sometimes Theo wondered if keeping his friendship with Draco, one of his last remaining ones left, was even worth it, but the thought of being utterly forgotten about did border on maudlin. At least the many events and parties he had tried to make himself suffer through on Daphneâs account were over. One friendship he could do. Two? Not in the slightest.
The chimes of the doors broke Theo from his thoughts and the feigned show of looking over the inventory books. Seeing just exactly how well Mr. Worme could cope without him was heartwarming. He wasnât going to be out of a job just yet. âObscurusâ. Nothing is too obscure for us to have.â His mouth didnât manage the smile he had been instructed upon to include with the shopâs new greeting. Not that his quiet and dry tone had made the sentence very much of a welcomed hello by any means.Â
Wade had been buried in work, his relationship with Susan, and the chaos that ensued from the Redeemers. They were on his back like never before and already dreaded whatever the next meeting would be. He hated knowing that Irene was on his ass and now Callum. It was probably an ill idea to fight Callum without wands, but Wade didnât feel an ounce of guilt. All his guilt was reserved for what he did to Susan and hoped that everything was amended now. Their engagement was still a secret and with his day off, he did some essential shopping. He pushed the door open to Obscurus and looked around first.Â
âI somehow doubt you donât have everything,â he said idly, glancing through the books and somehow wanting there to be other titles besides the ones listed. Wade secretly preferred reading muggle books and knew that it wouldnât be there. âHave any Shakespeare? Victor Hugo? Hemingway?â Wade asked, knowing that perhaps Theodore might know the authors. âIâm looking for an old healing book. It was at the hospital wing at school and I havenât seen it since.â
