Town Event: Helping Hand

Hear ye, hear ye! Let each help the other and in so doing, help themselves.

We invite everyone to join in Darkest Dungeon month--a community event to bring fans a little bit closer in the wake of atrocities big and small!

It feels as though the DD community has separated in smaller, isolated shards who don't share things between one another as much. This project is an attempt to encourage sharing of ideas, creation, and to show newer people that there is a vibrant community in the DD fandom!

To promote this, we offer a list of prompts for each day of the month, and we will reblog your creations so that everyone can see the contributions as well as connect with one another. Everyone is welcome to participate, whether it be with art, writing, theorizing and more!

To have your contribution reblogged to this account, we only have two caveats:

1) We will not reblog any AI content.

2) We will not reblog anything bigoted or potentially harmful to real individuals.

Now that that's out of the way, we wanted to get the community's feedback on when we should have this event! We don't want to overlap with July, as that is Art Fight, and many people will be participating. So, we want to host this poll to ask when DDMonth works best for as many people as possible!

Please reblog and share for a larger sample size, and to spread awareness of the event!

deargodsandholytentacles, this image was sitting in my head for so long i can’t even! frankly, i’m surprised i’ve barely seen Dismas’ past in prison brought up in any fics i’ve red, and i’ve read a lot of those.

Abandoning his nearly-finished alarms, Dismas lowered himself onto a pile of rubble, head in hands. He really was in prison, after all, in his solitary cell. That freezing tomb in which he was buried alive, forgotten by both gods and demons, to rot as she did, just for longer. So, so many years longer. He remembered them all.  Not for the first time, Dismas wondered if maggots would fall out of his flesh if he sliced himself open. His veins felt pulsating and flowing in a particularly alien fashion, now. Maybe they were actually worms, and he was finally devoured by the earth. That’d be nice. He was oh so tired of running - through the muck, and the snow, and the guilt, and the blood.  Always so much blood, staining the walls of his cell.  So much that they stunk of iron instead of dust and had a visible trace after his fingers - it was their only saving grace.  He remembered drawing with his blood on those walls. He had time to learn how and an abundance of help in bloodletting.  Seeing a man bleeding out was well damn pretty, for a keen eye. Even if it was his own lifeblood. The prison gave him such eyes.
