Board Games: Minutes of the Highly Fictitious and Most Officious Board of Extenuations, June 2017
Welcome, All, to this the very latest and most exciting meeting of The Board. To those of you whose first Board this is, welcome aboard. All will become clear as we go; I am quite sure.
Apologies- from all in attendance.
Declaration of interest: none whatsoever.
The concessions board convened earlier. For all we know, they are concessing still.
Now to the business.
We will begin, naturally, with Stage 3 and work backwards from thereon out. This is to keep consistency with those on the Board who have been working backwards all semester.
Please turn to anonymous page 1 of the prepared documents, page two on the slide, number 157447345 26. Anon, anon, and on it goes...
Candidate has shown disregard for our government’s programme of extensive and rigorous education sector cuts, the weight of debt and administrative bureaucracy, and of their own expectations of the system, and will receive a clear first.
Candidate 157447345 27 likewise, has indicated gross disregard for the bell curve of mark-spread, and the need to step away from inflation on the boundaries...God, I hate inflation on the boundaries... and the Board also acknowledges a clear first. I believe it is only fair and proper, so, that we disregard the student. completely.
What’s that? No, a preponderance of permutations is allowed only when the candidate has taken a year out to study botany, I think you’ll find. Quite right. It is all very straightforward isn’t it.
The Board will remember that for gross disregard, you simply multiply the remainder by 0.8 over 4 to find the value of x, and then throw it off a bridge in a small burlap sack. But I’m sure the secretary will be able to organise this while we wait. Good. Ready- Did everyone get seven? Now hold this in your heads as we consider student 157447345 28… Unusual last name, that.
Only a few more cases of cases to go, now. Each more blissfully anonymous than the last. And then prizes!
Well, here the Board recommends a short break in Aberystwyth, on the confluence of the Ystwyth and the Rheideol. The candidate, on their return, will have a confluence of firsts, and a 2.1.
Mitigations, vinidications, justifications all to be considered at the meeting of the Resit Board when we sit later in the year. Just as bored as you like, once students recommended resitting have referred, reviled and rejuvenated. Rejoice! Time for prizes.
Best Degree: About 23. Just warm enough but not sweltering, you know? Lovely.
Best Stage 2: Who was that last one? That was beautifully printed, I thought.
Most significant contribution: Oh, the Romans, I should imagine.
Now if I could just get your signatures. Thank you. And here. Oh you’re too kind. And initial here. And send in triplicate, and then shred confidentially before the next full moon.
Don’t tip your administrators, it will only encourage them.
Any other business ought to be quietly shelved until September.

Why do you only have 30-credit wild modules? I need 15 more credits and I can't take any of them. What's the point in running these modules if -nobody- can take them?!
