AND LUKE! Fighting SO HARD just to be in that moment with Julie and his brothers. you can see it on his face, how hard he's fighting to get there with them, and the moment he does he fucking BLAZES into the room staring RIGHT AT JULIE like "no babe, not even a magical demon can keep me from you, you're my star and I'm gonna make sure this whole world sees you glow tonight YOU GOT THIS"

Hi. I’ve just now realized something. I may be so late but look.

Luke. Sleeves. He looks mad uncomfortable.

Now Stand Tall.

His sleeves are gone. And his shirt!! Like where’s they go?

I strongly believe that right before he poofed on stage with Julie he ripped them off. He didn’t feel like himself with them on. His biceps needed to breathe 😂.

Small details in the Unsaid Emily flashbacks that I ✨love✨

This is gonna be a long one lads so buckle up. Lets start with my favourite screenshot

- First of all the band posters!!! yes please every wall is covered in them

- I think the most important prop in this scene is the empty noodle (i think) cups. There’s 3 there. We already knew that Luke ran away from home and was gone for 7 months with very little money, but this just proves that he was struggling more than it may have seemed. He’s eating the cheapest food he can possibly find for potentially every single meal, and may have been doing so for MONTHS. There’s no way his health wasn’t declining from malnourishment. This also makes the headcanon that Emily blamed herself for his death more likely to be true, as he actually was surviving on street food and instant noodles instead of his mums home cooking that he would’ve had if she hadn’t pushed him away. 

- Secondly the chair. Yes it’s cheap and very uncomfortable looking but why is he sitting on it instead of the couch you ask? Because the couch is his bed!!!! He doesn’t wanna sleep AND work there!!

- Something I just thought about is the fact that he’s clearly working at night judging by literally every light in the studio being on. His boys aren’t there with him. I know we like to think that all of them lived at the studio at least some of the time, but until that’s confirmed we have to assume that Luke was a 17 year old kid completely alone and living in a garage with no money while the other boys were at school or home. Ouch

‘Wicked Beauty’ Sequence

Thanks to Charlie Gillespie who posted an IG story as Luke, where he refers to Julie as a ‘wicked beauty’. 

Needless to say, we went nuts. 

Thanks to @blush-and-books​ who wants to see ‘Wicked Beauty’ as not only a song on s2 of JATP but for it to be Luke’s version of ‘Perfect Harmony’, where he has his own daydream sequence while thinking of Julie. 

This has been workshopped with @lydias–stiles​ (thank you for hearing my random rambling and encouraging my madness). 

So this is how it would go down:

Let’s say there’s this moment in S2 where Luke does some wishful thinking, maybe after hitting a roadblock in trying to pursue a relationship with Julie, where he imagines what it would be like if he and Julie met under different circumstances. Something more normal, something easier to navigate. 

So that’s how he comes up with ‘Wicked Beauty’ in his head. 

The song would be the total opposite of ‘Perfect Harmony’. 

It would be a high-octane, powerhouse rock song more aligned with Sunset Curve era music. 

The sequence starts off with Luke on stage with the boys as if it was back in the ‘90s, and he’s singing this song. 

Then he spots Julie in the crowd. 

And she’s all decked out in ‘90s punk garb, jamming out to the song. 

Luke’s immediately drawn to her. It’s like nothing that has ever happened to him before on stage. He could not take his eyes off this girl. 

They lock eyes, and it becomes clear to everyone that whatever he’s singing, he’s singing to that girl in the middle of the crowd. 

He’s dancing around stage, putting on a show for her, just getting really into the song. When suddenly, he jumps off the stage and the crowd disperses. They part to make a path for Luke that leads directly to Julie. 

He’s leveling eye contact, serenading her and you could see she’s smitten too. 

Luke runs up, does a power slide while playing his guitar that lands right at her feet. 

He gives her a wink, she pulls him up, and they freakin’ head bang and just jump around, belting out the lyrics to ‘Wicked Beauty’ together. 

I also had this idea that the song would be in the same key as ‘Perfect Harmony’. And if Julie and Luke ever confess their feelings, it would be like a ‘This is Me’/ ‘Gotta Find You’ mashup. 

Imagine ‘Perfect Harmony’ but with electric guitar. 

The mashup would be a perfect because it describes their dynamic. There’s the tender, intimate moments but paired with their fire and energy when they perform together. 

Fingers crossed that Charlie and the others actually wrote ‘Wicked Beauty’ during Band Camp this summer because it would be really cool to see it play out.

look we’ve been talking about “this is an interesting little relationship you and i have” but we haven’t been talking about it. you know?????

like what the fuck was that?! luke tries to hold julie’s hand because he’s a soft ghost who is in love and his love language is touch and this beautiful girl just did something so big for him despite not knowing him for that long bc their connection is just that strong. and she reaches out. for him. 

she wants to hold his hand. 

can you imagine what would have happened if they actually managed to hold hands?? what would have even happened???? but they don’t. they fully make that effort and his hand passes through hers. they don’t even like, reach out and then go no, nevermind luke is ghost, they fully fucking make “contact.” 

and what luke does as a reaction isn’t blush and stutter and apologize – he gives her what i’m going to call a verbal hand-hold. he can’t communicate his feelings or affections through touch. so he does them in the second-best way he knows how, which is through words. 

“this is an interesting little relationship you and i have.”

it’s not much. it isn’t the depth of his feelings, he can’t find it in himself to initiate a deeper attachment when he thinks he’s going to be leaving her soon, but it’s something. it’s a reciprocation. it’s a confirmation. 

he wants julie to know that he feels it. he feels that their relationship is different than her relationships with alex or reggie. and he’s a ghost, of course it couldn’t happen, but… she isn’t alone. she’s not just the idiot that fell for a ghost – he is also the idiot that fell for a lifer.

and they can share that together. it’s an interesting relationship for sure, it’s a relationship that is emotionally dangerous, but he needs to make sure that before he goes, she knows that he feels the same way. and he, too, wishes things were different. 

and when she smiles back at him, he can feel peace with knowing that she got the message.

Why are most fanfics Luke/Charlie x Reader? I get he’s a total hottie but the juke, lalex, peterpatter, and willex fics are so much better. They’re like a continuance of the show rather than using the adorable Luke/Charlie as the love interest providing people’s fluff and smut needs. Anyways, comment your opinions!
