Trauma often messes with one’s ability to say “no”.
You either consciously or subconsciously think, “I don’t want to hurt this person’s feelings” or “If I say no, then they’ll hurt me” or “It won’t really be that bad” or “I can handle this” or “I need to do this to prove myself” or “I deserve this”, or you forget that “no” is even an option.
It’s still not your fault if you didn’t say “no”, even if you think maybe you could have. It’s still not your fault. You didn’t deserve what happened to you and you didn’t bring it upon yourself. It was never your fault.

knowing that people have been watching me for the past like half an hour I've just been waiting for my supervisor in this 7-11 is making me want to run out of here & quit on the spot again. i hate being watched and seen like this, esp when I don't have the activity of working to take my mind off it like. I've just been standing here, it's not like i can do much of anything else lol. anyway i have a slight buzz of anxiety going in my feet and stomach, hope they go awayyyy 👁👁

as a woman who struggles with adhd, i can’t even begin to describe my frustration with the inaccessibility of medication for it. between the misinformation on how symptoms present in certain groups, the expense of the medication, and doctors reluctance to prescribe because of abuse, it’s awful.
but as someone who has struggled with addiction, I beg y’all to stop making posts like this. “I’m glad y’all are having fun abusing meds…hope it was worth it”. Addicts aren’t addicted to spite you. Yes, we need to address the culture that encourages high school and college students to abuse medication in order to get ahead, but this isn’t how you do it.
Shaming addicts for….being addicted? isn’t going to solve anything. It’s definitely not going to make adhd medications more accessible. I get that youre angry and frustrated but this isn’t how to handle it.

i think its important for white people to realize how damaging individual acts of racism can be. on this site where callout posts, drama, and arguments break out, people have seen it as a form of some morbid entertainment. of course, fools are to be laughed at, but at the same time, racism is mixed into that mess of “drama”. to the point where racism has lost its meaning to many people here. its not always about how the higher ups despise POC, how we’re systematically fucked, or about the individuals who are unabashedly racist. its (as i’ve commonly seen on this website) also about those people who are subconsciously influenced by racist surroundings, and “dont mean” to be racist. those people who dont do it on purpose but nonetheless normalize racism. those people who didnt know enough but think they have any say in whats racist or not, despite not being affected. the “washed down” brand of racism, i may say. however, its all racism. you cant be “a bit racist”, youre racist. not all of us can look at racism and immediately go and try to be helpful to whoever is in the wrong. we also cant always make light of it and be done.  there are POC who are deeply affected by racism, even if its not a big deal to white people. in this place where white people are deemed as people who just need a bit of help, where theyre sent encouraging messages saying “hey, i dont think youre racist. dont listen to them.”, “this could have been handled better” or “i think your actions were wrong, but they didnt have to get mad.”, some of us sincerely think we are wrong for being angry at oppression because of how often this happens. we can be angry, because it still harms people, even if its seen as a small mistake by others. racism isnt a small offense, and no acts of racism can be small.
TL:DR read it. white people are excusing, and subsequently normalizing, these acts of racism. continuing this train of thought will lead to more POC being silenced and characterized as irritable and hostile for speaking out. white people do not add comments to this post. i dont care for your stance on this subject (even if you agree) because its not your place to voice it.

“Trans women obviously don’t benefit much from male privilege because the majority live in poverty due to large scale job and housing discrimination. If transgender women are assertive and declare themselves as equals, they try to push them into a docile role or otherwise question their womanhood (‘because [real] women are docile and non-assertive’). They police the gender expressions of trans women and claim if transgender women present feminine, that they’re pushing patriarchal gender roles. If they present as masculine or aren’t attracted to men, they’re “fake transgender” and “don’t really identify as women” (‘because the criteria for womanhood is dressing a certain way and liking a certain gender’). When trans women are victims of male violence, the first thought is that it’s her fault and that she tricked someone into having sex with her (which time and time again have been shown to be false despite the assumptions and stereotype). These same people also participate in rape culture by hyper-sexualizing trans women, claiming that most transgender women are prostitutes and thus are responsible for their own rapes when the 50% statistic is pointed out (victim blaming, anyone?). That also goes further to portray all transgender women as rapists, waiting in the dark corners of bathrooms to rape poor, defenseless little girls. So in addition to denying them victimhood when raped, they also cast them into the antagonist role of their rapists with nothing to base that on besides their own phobia. The anti transgender- or rather, anti trans woman movement is misogyny, rape culture, and patriarchy with a fresh new coat of paint- the anti-thesis of feminism masquerading in a Trojan horse purporting to represent women’s best interests. That’s why all these chants about trans women pushing patriarchy and gender roles are so hilarious. You just really have to sit back and observe the hypocrisy.”
— Konjo Monroe, Lipstickalley on the double standards of viewing trans women through bias. (via scorpiquarius)

This has been said a thousand times and articulated better than I could ever hope to, but I’m so tired of yts and nb pocs using aave. y’all abuse, misuse, and take credit for language created by black folks (esp black women and black gay men) and then toss it aside when it’s no longer cool and trendy.
So many black ppl grow up feeling alienated from their own language, having parents, teachers, and peers that scold and make fun of them for sounding “uneducated” and now the same people that teased us have taken claim of language that black people had to eliminate from our lexicon just to be taken seriously.
So no, nonblack El Be Gee Tees, you did not coin let’s get this bread, wig, shade, or tea. It was uneducated blacks that you look down your nose at that did.
And honestly I just have to laugh when y’all complain about cishets misusing bottom and top or whatever. Because when we ask for not to do the same thing, y’all give us the same ole, “well no one owns a language” or “it’s just slang anyway.” It’s tired and pathetic.
Y’all are no better than your cishet counterparts.
