Lore within the lore along with some other facts - Mimic and his past (pt.1)

Howdy Hoo, my fellow staffers or other employees of the sort. Mainly here to rant about lore or my thoughts on the story so far, mainly having to do with Mimic, Abyss, Akhlut and the Pirates of the Settling Dawn as a whole or at least put my timeline of events happen. Okay? Okay 👍

Pretty much this is the timeline I've thought of for these characters within the fic. Most of the original origins of how Abyss and Akhlut became Eggbosses are used but tweaked a bit. It's not required for you to read it for you to get an understanding, but it adds some context to what'll be happening in the fic itself, so enjoy.

So starting off! Mimic and Abyss joined the Pirates of the Settling Dawn very early on when they were thriving and had an army of fleets. Mimic gained the name Kraken because he was a skilled fighter whenever he was put into situations where other crew mates would be struggling in, and Abyss usually joined him with these bouts.

This was when Shellbreaker became the new captain and of course with this new found power and authority he wanted to do something that'll go down in pirate history to further push the narrative that he's the meanest of the seas in a way. Cue Mimic overhearing his plans to try to raid Meropis while they were actively traveling back to The Knives one night. Meropis itself is a big city, so they would be asking for their own deaths if they willingly charged the city with no plan, which Shellbreaker originally wanted to do.

This caused Mimic to kinda hint towards this to Abyss while they were talking one night, who was already planning to leave for Eggman at the time with some others, so she offered to take him with her, not knowing he didn't have any plans of joining Eggman at all due to all the rumors circulating around him and also because he doesn't necessarily trust her all that much. He sees her as a way to escape, mainly a getaway. Shellbreaker finds out about this mutiny of sorts, resulting in Abyss and Mimic getting locked up in cells for their act of being treacherous, however, they snuck out in the middle of the night since the bars were wide enough for them to slip by.

Abyss rallies her group to escape, and they do so flawlessly with no one left behind, except Mimic, who ditched them half way because once again he doesn't trust her and merely used her, which explains her resentment.

Now how he met Akhlut would be complicated. I can wholeheartedly see Akhlut encounter him as Mimic is making his escape and start fighting him for the love of the game, but Mimic ends up being someone who gives them a lot of trouble, so he allows them to join his team. Mimic never told them about his real name, just that he got screwed over by pirates and that Akhlut can call him Kraken thus starts a beautiful "friendship" aka both of them causing problems for anyone who manages to come into their territory or whenever they felt like causing problems that day. Also, this steadily helped Mimic gain a reputation on that side of the sea. (Plus some Tundra drama whenever Akhlut felt the need to be an instigator, but we'll get to that when Tundra is properly introduced into the fic.)

My head canon with Akhlut joining the Eggman Empire, since they never really said anything besides the fact he wanted power which is kind of boring in my opinion, is that Akhlut wanted to indirectly protect his troops in a messed-up way, that being allowing himself to be an Eggboss. Sure, not the best idea, but at least his people are safe, and they can thrive without the worry of Eggman attempting to conquer their area by force in the near future. Like my theory is that Akhlut loves the thrill of the fight, however, he will also mourn the loss of his comrades in ways people who haven't been around him long enough would understand.

So, this leads us here. Akhlut saying goodbye to Mimic after the deal with Eggman was struck. The reason? He wanted to explore the world to find better opportunities, not entirely retiring his label or his role in the Northern Oceans crew. The real reason? He didn't want to be associated with Eggman at all because once again, he doesn't and still would never trust the doctor.

All in all, Mimic met two of the Eggbosses accidentally while trying to escape his past, but it has bitten him in the ass more than once, and he is kinda tired of it. Will this continue to bite him in the ass? Oh absolutely.

Welcome to the Villain's Casino info post

"Welcome to the Villain's Casino," is a brief side project I decided to work on after jokingly mentioning this in a certain community not so long ago during a certain week that involved a platypus and octopus being in a relationship. Then, the idea kept on progressing due to my notes app overflowing, so now here we are.

This au features Breezie the Hedgehog along with her three assistants, Scratch, Grounder, and Coconuts as well as the addition of Neo Metal Sonic, but you'll see what I've done with them very, very soon. This will also feature a mix of both IDW and Archie characters as the story moves forward. This is a "light-hearted" series compared to NRS and I intend to keep it that way until I get another crazy idea for this series.
