Carlingford, Co. Louth

If you want a true Irish experience then Carlingford is the place for you!

Carlingford is a beautiful medieval village that is less than a 2 hour drive from Dublin. Carlingford's narrow streets and Picturesque Slieve Foye mountain make it stand out from other towns nearby. There is so much activities to do from guided historical tours to getting involved in water sports and laser tag at the Adventure Centre making it a perfect destination for people of all ages. There is something for everyone at the Adventure Centre with other activities including foot golf, skypark, archery, kayaking, etc.

Carlingford has plenty of highly rated restaurants aswell as pubs with an Irish feel to them. Carlingford is great for a night out with it being a popular destination for hen and stag parties due to a lot of the pubs being in close proximity making for a great atmosphere.

Go on a hike up the Slieve Foye Loop or rent a bike to enjoy the scenic sights and endless stunning views around the village.

Belmullet Co.Mayo

Have you ever thought about travelling to Belmullet Co.Mayo?

Through its beautiful coastal scenery and unique experiences, Belmullet is the perfect destination to travel to.

Belmullet is home to many beaches and blue flags meaning it is the perfect location if you enjoy being by the sea surrounded by breath taking scenery, in addition to this, Belmullet also features a tidal pool which is popular among visitors and is an excellent addition to the term sea swimming.

Along side it’s beautiful coastline, Belmullet is also home to a Links Golf Course which looks out over the Atlantic Ocean. The course has 27 holes and is a perfect leisure activity to do while in the area.

Black sod Bay is also located near by where visitors can partake in beach walks, water sports and boat trips, there is also a lighthouse that was built in 1864 located here.

Belmullet is also home to excellent dining facilities which we believe will leave guests satisfied to the fullest!

During the month of August, Belmullet hold their annual Belmullet festival which features a traditional fair day and a traditional heritage day. This is the perfect event to visit as there is live music, entertainment, street traders, on-street crafts, heritage displays and much more!

We are two students who share a passion for the beauty and wonders of Ireland and we found it disappointing that tourists tend to only see certain areas and attractions that Ireland has to offer while there are so many hidden and not so hidden gems to be explored in other areas of the country.

To combat this we have created WandÉire, a concept that promotes and encourages tourists to travel to areas of Ireland that are steeped in heritage, culture, scenery and other attractive aspects so that tourists can gain a more immersive experience while they explore and navigate through the lesser-known gems that our country has to offer.
