      he  preferred  not  to  speak.    the  AWKWARD  TWIST  in  his  stomach  from  being  home  after  such  a  long  while  made  him  stand  out,  at  least  in  the  way  of  what  he  believed  people  could  see.   sam  was  POLITE  in  greeting,  a  slight  smile  curved  lips  as  he  made  his  way  to  look  up  at  options  & who  he  assumed  to  be the  OWNER.   “ i’m  guessing  you  serve  chicken  here  ?  ”

a small glance is given toward the door of the restaurant than indicates what it is.she could be sarcastic right here, but she was going to spare him since he seemed a little out of place. ❛ we do. take a seat, i’ll make you some. ❜ she motioned to a seat not too far away from the main counter. ❛ one bite and you’ll fall in love. ❜

precautions were being carried out to a significant level lately for one kim sunny. continuing as if all this suspicious behavior happening around her wasn’t something to worry about would be a silly course of action. as a single woman with no family, she had to take care of herself! ❛ there’s been a lot of weird things happening around me lately. i might need a lawyer. ❜ maybe. maybe she was going a little too far, but she didn’t know what else to do. ❛ could you help me? ❜

it was an important day today, even if she may be the only one celebrating it. queen kim sun was preparing her next letter that she would send to her brother out in the borderlands. he hadn’t responded to a single one, but it wouldn’t deter her. after all, it was her big brother’s birthday! despite the king and his eunuch’s current stance with her brother, she wouldn’t be stopped from celebrating, even if it was quietly in the privacy of her room.

my dearest older brother,

         today is an important day. today you turn another year older. did you forget? i’m sure you did.

there’s a smile on sweet kim sun’s lips as she writes. it’s all bittersweet but she’s trying to find the best in everything right now. if she lived so miserably nothing would ever get better. maybe if the king saw her living her days trying her best and smiling then he would enjoy such a thing near him. it was wishful thinking when park joong-heon played puppet master behind the scenes.

it was a hot day today, like it is every year on this day. maybe this is why you’re so hot-blooded. the peach blossoms have all moved on to becoming sweet fruits, but i prefer the persimmons. bring me some when you come home.

enjoy your day with your soldiers. they adore you and would happily celebrate with you. i will be doing what i can here. stay safe.

business is a leisurely moving snail again : slow. this had been the travesty of these last few weeks, and sunny was beginning to wonder if it was time to close up shop and move on to something else. if it hadn’t been the middle of the day she’d surely be enjoying a bottle of soju with her snack, but god has a funny way of playing with you when you’re at your low points.

            that is until she hears the tinkering noise of the bell on the door, indicating that someone was entering the restaurant. she quickly turns for her greeting, bowing her head politely as she does so. ❛ welcome, please take a seat wherever, i’ll be right with you. ❜
