Update on Ava Dahl’reisen

IC INFORMATION

NAME: Ava Dahl’reisen { In game name Fylakas } NICKNAME: Warden - Ava - Dhal’reisen - Herald RACE: Night Elf formerly now a mix of a Chaos magic being AGE: 11,251 HEIGHT: Originally 7′, now around 8′5″ BODY TYPE: Refer to the image above, figure is slightly fuller than a typical night elf with more pronounced hips and a curvy frame. She’s currently about the size of a transformed Illidari at all times due to her recent mutations. HAIR/EYE COLOR: Once Silver, now her hair is sickly stiffened but still silverish, and her eyes are mere empty black pits where they once had belonged.  NOTABLE SCARS, MARKS, ETC: TATTOOS/PIERCINGS: Two tattoos appear on her body, one a mirrored set of claw mark across each eye in dark blue color stretching from her forehead down to her chin bone. The other tattoo encompasses the entire right side of her back/shoulder stretching down across her shoulder-blade to the small of her back. It’s a single tribal owls wing and oddly it’s clearly the left wing though it lies on her right shoulder. Thus the placement heavily suggests its sister wing lies on someone else. PERSONALITY / WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN APPROACHED: Due to her years of isolation and what she’s currently endured in her story line, she’s not exactly friendly with anyone at first. She lacks social skills, and thus is not much of a conversationalist and quite often misunderstood or mistaken as short tempered.She can easily come off as suspiciously wary to outright rude. It is rare she’ll ever remove her helmet or mask for anyone in public, even in private for that matter. This makes it hard to read her expressions and face as it is rarely ever seen. She carries herself proudly and with honor all her own though she represents the Kaldorei at their best from long ago. However time and more recent events have taught her to see and accept far more than she once had as all is not as it seems even among her own people and her own sisters in the Wardens. Though more curiously misunderstood are those she has been charged to watch over, and destroy. As a long respected and proven Warden herself, Ava does not take kindly to threats nor to those that feel a need to test her mantle. Even some simple acts of kindness can be seen as a weakness to her and thus she knows best to keep her thoughts to herself as it is more important to observe. She doesn’t like to explain herself unless someone has proven to her they’re deserving of such honesty. CAN CURRENTLY BE FOUND IN: Anywhere and everywhere though she frequents Darkshore it seems or Westfall. Though you will never see her in the city with her new transformation. HOW SHE IS KNOWN AND A BRIEF HISTORY: Ava was still fairly young during the events of the great Sundering and the Well of Eternity. She witnessed her elder cousin, Syrune “Sunraze” Dahl’reisen whom had been with the Sisterhood of Elune at the time, become one of the first Watchers called to aid Maiev Shadowsong. It was Ava’s lifelong dream to follow in her footsteps and join the ranks of the watchers when she came of age. 

When Ava came of age, her and her best friend Misaki Shadowblade joined the ranks of the watchers and were stationed in the Barrow Dens as guards till they became more combat ready and had earned the trust of their fellow watchers while under Sunraze’s tutelage.

(Art by Tigress) During the third war, Misaki and Ava were sent off on a hunt for a known Kaldorei threat within Kalimdor when they later discovered the fate of their fellow wathchers. Though more notably was the fact that Tyrande’s own Sentinels had murdered Sunraze along with so many others who were present while guarding over Illidan. Infuriated by Tyyrande and darkening their hearts both Ava and Misaki agreed to follow Maiev Shadowsong in her hunt to track down Illidan. It was then they were both made true wardens and had earned their trust among those very few left.  For six years they hunted, but en route to the broken isles an incident had occurred which left Misaki wounded. Ava stayed behind with her only friend only to once more find they’d just missed the second culling of their ranks as the tomb had collapsed and killed their sisters, drowning them. With nothing left, the wardens turned back for Azsuna and together went to help at the vault. Within their anger and outrage for Tyrande and soon after Malfurion as well flowed too deeply for them to return to rejoin the Night Elven society. During the Firelands and events of the Cataclysm, Saynna Stormrunner had called for reinforcements and thus Ava herself went to their aid. it was here she took on the mantle of a Shadow Warden aiding the regrowth and molten front to hunt the druids of the flame. Ava remained there even after events of the Firelands were finally under control again. But eventually news reached her of her lifelong friend Warden Shadowblade’s death. Becoming enraged by the betrayal of one of her fellow wardens which lead to Misaki’s death, Ava swore to hunt down the traitor and the Illidari involved till she could one day bring them both to justice. Not long after, the events of the Legion took matters back to the Warden’s Vault where again their numbers were attacked. With so few of them left and their own leader imprisoned Ava was charged with taking on her own Thero’shan Sylvari Moonwalker. Ava did not prove to be the best of Shando’s however as since the death of her friend she’d become severely closed off moreso than any other warden was used too due to years of isolationism.   Since the events of the legion, Ava was known for working with the band of Mercenaries called Gravestone in a long involved hunt for rogue felsworn illidari and the demons they served. It was during this time Ava and Sylvari both were forced to work with several Illidari which took an interesting turn for Ava as she came to know them far better than she’d originally intended due to the rather long and involved mission to destroy the rogue felsworn. It was also during this mission that Ava suffered the betrayal of Sylvari and was forced to kill her herself so they could see this mission through. Having witnessed a life full of betrayal and isolation even among her own sisters, Ava has changed her views and perspective on life in Azeroth quite drastically. However it has also made her severely closed off and hard to trust even among her fellow wardens and watchers. Of course it doesn’t help that she has also been frequently seen still working with a few of her Illidari comrades she’s made along the way. What few Wardens remain now are determined to rebuild their prison and hunt down the terrifying beasts that were let loose when it fell. Ava is no different and her story continues with her own hunt of the very being whom now has damned her soul and lain his brand upon it.  For two years she struggled through various events and attempts to rid herself of the brand but in the end it claimed her life. A story known only by those whom were there to aid her, and to watch her fall at the hands of her soon to be maker.

CURRENT TIMES: Not long after the Legion was defeated, the warden disappeared. None of her fellow Wardens have a single clue as to where she’s gone nor what became of her. She was last known to be working on an important mission with a few of the Illidari who aided her in the past as well as with a group of heroes from various companies to seek out an ancient evil and destroy it. But it seems only some of them returned, and she was not one of them. Those select few have remained scarce and still to this day none have heard from the once proud Warden.  In very recent times, rumors are starting to circulate the battle ridden shores of Darkshore. Tales of a being or beast that closely resembles an Illidari but created of pure chaos magic has been found raiding random horde camps and search parties. With the war on everyone’s minds the creature has mostly gone unnoticed... but in current times it seems to be resurfacing over and over across the lands leaving none alive in its wake.

My amazing commission from such a kind wonderful and talented artist. I absolutely LOVE how he captured this huge moment in my warden’s past that still haunts her to this day.  At one time I plan to or hope to do a bit write-up of what this scene entails but for now the TLDR is thus: Over a year ago for REASONS Ava was stuck within the Nether with another. She had fallen and was dying in a trivial desperate moment when a boon of power managed to convince her to allow her to survive instead of meaninglessly dying with no hope of return since they were both in the nether afterall. In that moment of desperation she took the boon fell her enemies and survived to save herself and her companion so they could escape the Nether and seek aid. However in doing so she became branded by an unknown ancient entity of unknown power known only as the High Inquisitor and in that moment this scene depicted above occurred.  Fast forward SEVERAL dmed events rped out live time over a year later, and she finally got to meet he who branded her and has been haunting her soul and torturing it all this time. Alas, this final event lead to her death as the other players witnessed her final fate... but that remains a mystery yet to be discovered if this is where her story truly ends. Though to her fellow Wardens, companion and those that have aided her thus far she is now gone and assumed... dead. Felled by the power of H’estur whom consumed her and claimed her soul forever. *sniffles*

Warden Sunraze for @wardenava!

Another piece of artwork done for me of my Shadow Warden Ava. This was the first one I had drawn of her showing off how I imagine her armor looks and her big billowing cloak. It also shows her custom made Illidari Warglaives she wields in character instead of the traditional moon glaive. She has a full history as to how these came to be and why they now are currently licked with shadowflame. Perhaps one day I’ll write a little blurb about them as it’s a fun unique tale but for now I wish to show off this wonderful art of her embracing her inner warden. I had the helm off simply because I wanted to see her face beneath the mask/helm.  This was drawn by The Tigress who has done much art for me in the past. I had asked the artist to draw her leaning against her skeleton home that is still being built and appearing to be at that breaking point of almost giving up. I will later post a written piece of what is going on with her that links to this artwork but for now I can’t thank you enough. You did an amazing job and as always it was wonderful working with you!
