They look at me with their curious eyes, one simple question on their mind. "What does it mean to be a boy?" I open my mouth to answer, but no words come out. How do I explain the concept of gender, when I don't even have one myself?

Does this mean anything to them? Does it mean anything to anyone other than me? I say I'm a boy, but I don't feel like paintbrushes or waves or rubber boots. I could say I'm a girl, but I don't feel like climbing a tree or cloudy days or stained glass.
